The moment Damian and Lucain arrived at the healer’s house, Madam Brie led them through the narrow hallway and pushed open the small door to the recovery room.

Inside, Damon sat beside the bed—shoulders curled inward, fingers nervously tapping his knee, eyes glued to the unconscious girl. The moment he sensed Damian’s presence, he jolted up as if burned. His heart thudded loudly, fear twisting his expression.

“F–Father…” he stammered and immediately dropped to his knees.

Damian’s steps were calm, but his aura carried weight.

He placed a hand on Damon’s head, a brief, gentle stroke meant to reassure him.

“Wait outside for a while,” he said quietly.

Relief washed over Damon so visibly that his shoulders sagged.

“Yes, Father.”

He bowed again and hurried outside, closing the door softly.

The moment he left, Madam Brie cleared her throat softly.

“Alpha… I will update you on her progress.”

Damian did not respond.

He was already walking toward the bed.

Elina lay motionless, her breathing sof

Within two days of staying with her new family, Elina’s recovery had been swift. She darted around the estate laughing, with Damon close behind.“Catch me if you can, Damon!” Elina shouted, her laughter echoing across the courtyard.“You wish!” Damon grinned, running faster, his racing instincts kicking in. “I’m faster than you, I bet!”“Not today!” Elina retorted, dodging a low branch and giggling. From the study window, Damian watched quietly, a rare smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.“She’s energetic,” Lucian said, standing beside him. “And surprisingly fast for her age.”Damian nodded. “Good. She’s learning to survive.” He paused, eyes narrowing. “But let’s keep her close. No wandering near dangerous packs yet.”“Understood, Alpha,” Lucian replied.Ella had ensured that everyone in the estate treated Elina exactly like her own son, giving her the same love, care, and attention. Two days later, a letter arrived from Alpha Brothstone. Lucian unfolded it carefully, scanning t

The rejection struck him harder than he expected. His fingers curled slowly into a fist. Who did this to her? How deeply did they carve fear into a child? But Ella’s steady voice slipped into his mind through the link.“Damian… leave. Let me handle this. Please.” He hesitated—but he trusted her.So he turned and walked out. Lucian and Madam Brie followed quietly, closing the door behind them.Immediately, the atmosphere softened.Ella stood still for a moment, patient as a moonlit lake. She let the silence settle, let Elina breathe without the weight of so many eyes.Elina’s shoulders trembled as she pressed herself to the wall, tears streaking down her pale face.“I—I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to make trouble… I was just hungry… I didn’t steal anything, I swear…” Her voice cracked into a whisper that sounded far too small for someone who should have been cherished by a pack.Ella stepped closer—one slow, delicate step at a time..She lifted her hands slightly to show Elina she wasn’t hid

Damon arrived at the healer’s cottage, panting from his run, only to see Madam Brie working swiftly over the injured girl. Her hands moved with precision, applying soothing herbs to the arrow wound while murmuring protective charms.“She’s stable,” Madam Brie finally announced. “But she’s weak. She needs rest, warmth, and care for at least a few days.”Damon’s large gray eyes softened as he looked down at Elina, still unconscious on the bed. Despite his guilt, his protective instincts flared. “I… I’ll stay here with her,” he whispered. “I won’t let anything happen to her.”Madam Brie nodded. “Good. Your presence will help her feel safe once she wakes.”Lucian appeared shortly after, giving Damon a nod of approval. “You’ve learned an important lesson today, my Alpha. Strength without caution can kill. But now you must protect her, and that includes watching over her while she recovers.”Damon’s small hands clenched the edge of the bed. “I promise, Uncle Lucian. No one will hurt her whi

That same day, when Theo finally returned to Mina’s chamber after a long, exhausting day running the affairs of the pack, Lambert was the first to reach him. The young boy squealed in excitement and threw his small arms around Theo’s leg. Theo chuckled softly and lifted him briefly before setting him down. But the moment he turned toward Mina, his smile faded. She stood a few steps away, her hands folded tightly in front of her, her shoulders weighed down by something heavy. Her eyes, usually warm whenever she saw him, were clouded with sadness.Theo’s brows drew together.“Mina… what happened?”She didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she sighed deeply and called for Lambert’s nurse.“Please take him outside to play for a while.”Lambert obeyed happily, leaving the room with the nurse, and the door closed quietly behind them.Mina approached Theo, gently guiding him toward the cushioned chair near the window. Theo allowed himself to be led, still watching her with a puzzled expression
