CHAPTER 39. FEAR AND ANGER

ATHENA'S POV

I stood along Xavier's side as the pack doctor examined Scarlet’s wounds and bandaged them after applying some special healing ointment for werewolves. Once she was done, she started explaining Scarlet's condition to Xavier.

“There are a few deep scratches and cuts on her skin. Looks like it was done by some blades and claws. Although nothing to worry about, since she is a werewolf, she will heal in about a day or two. Till then, it is preferred that she takes a good rest,” Xavier nodded.

“Thank you. You may leave,” the doctor nodded, before leaving the three of us alone.

“Thank you, Xavier. For everything you've done for me till date. Although I'm sorry about the cottage. I couldn't do anything to save it. They had already lit it up on fire. I couldn't even retrieve anything from it. I'm sorry for all the money that you spent on it. After all, you built it for me with a lot of love,” she looked down, feeling guilty. That's the problem with all these stories, the protagonists always hide secrets, lie and scheme to protect their secrets, then get all hostile when they get called out. No better than the antagonists
