Naya’s POV

I lay on the narrow hospital bed, staring at the pale ceiling while Winnie sat beside me, carefully slicing an apple into small pieces on a plate.

“You have to eat,” she said softly. “For the baby.”

She tried to smile, but I could see the fear in her eyes. Winnie had been afraid ever since I collapsed. Afraid to leave me alone. Afraid to even blink around me.

She handed me a slice. I took it, chewing slowly, even though my stomach felt tight and unsettled.

Then the door opened.

  • Alpha Zane’s Surrogate   Chapter 86: “Is this… Love?”

Zane’s POV The moment Valkyra’s lips touched mine, my entire body went rigid. First it was.. shock. Then anger followed almost immediately. Raw, violent anger surged through me. Before I could even react properly, my eyes moved… and that’s when I saw her. Naya. She was standing frozen in the doorway. Her eyes were wide and wild, staring directly at us. For a split second my world seemed to stop. Then a single tear slipped down her cheek. And that’s when it hit me. She had just seen me lip locked with Valkyra. My heart dropped into my stomach. “Naya…” My voice barely came out as I grabbed Valkyra’s arm and shoved her away from me. But it was already too late. Naya stared for a second longer then turned and bolted down the hallway. “Naya!” I didn’t think. I just ran. My wolf roared inside my chest as I chased after her. She didn’t stop at her room like I had thought. Instead, she ran straight past it and rushed toward the staircase. “Naya, wait!” She flew down t

  • Alpha Zane’s Surrogate   Chapter 85: A Perfect Mistake

Valkyra’s POV I tightened my grip on the steering wheel as the castle gates came into view. The guards opened them immediately. Of course they would. They still believed I was the future Luna of Moonveil. A small smile curled at the edge of my lips as I drove inside. But beneath that smile, my thoughts were sharp, cold and calculated. I was done playing Katherine’s game. That woman still thinks she was some master strategist. But lately, all her plans are beginning to fall apart. And the worst part? She doesn’t even seem to notice. If I keep following her blindly, I would end up losing everything I’ve worked so hard to get. No. That won’t happen. Not after everything I have sacrificed. If Naya thinks she can steal Zane from me… Then she is terribly mistaken. I parked the car near the castle entrance and stepped out. Straightening my coat, I walked inside with my head held high. The moment I crossed the entrance hall, voices drifted toward me from the main sitting r

  • Alpha Zane’s Surrogate   Chapter 84: “Scared of Rejection”

Naya’s POVThe first thing that flashed through my mind the moment I woke up fully was the kiss.My eyes snapped open. For a few seconds I simply stared at the lantern stand in front of me, my heart beating faster as the memory replayed itself over and over again.Last night.I had turned to see if Zane had fallen asleep.Instead, our faces had met only inches apart.I could still remember the way his hazel eyes had been watching me quietly in the dim light. The silence between us had stretched longer than it should have. And then my eyes dropped to his lips.I swallowed hard. His lips looked inviting and irresistible. It felt like something was pulling at me to give in.Before I could stop myself…I had leaned forward and kissed him.“Oh my God.”I groaned softly and slapped my palm over my face.“I really kissed Zane…” I murmured frustrated.“What was I thinking?” I muttered.Heat rushed to my cheeks.Last time we had kissed during training, Zane had avoided me for days.Almost two

  • Alpha Zane’s Surrogate   Chapter 83: Too Close

Naya’s POV“What do you want?” I asked coldly.Louise stood outside my door, the hallway lanterns casting long shadows behind him. In his hand was a small velvet box.Without speaking, he lifted it slightly and opened the lid.Inside lay the emerald set glistening under the small lights planted in the box.The same one he had spent a hundred million dollars on earlier tonight.“You forgot this with me,” he said calmly.I stared at the jewelry for a moment before shaking my head.“We both know, I didn’t forget it.”His brows furrowed slightly.“I just didn’t want anything from you.”A flicker of frustration crossed his face.“Naya…”He stepped closer.“What do I have to do to make you give me a chance?”I pretended to think about it for a second, tapping my chin lightly.“I don’t know,” I said slowly. Then I looked him directly in the eyes.“Maybe set me free and leave Moonveil entirely.”His jaw tightened.Louise suddenly reached for my hand. But I pulled it away immediately.“I canno

  • Alpha Zane’s Surrogate   Chapter 82: “He’s not worth it..”

Naya’s POVZane and I both turned toward the voice. And there he was.Alpha Louise. He stood beside the Zane’s chair, dressed in a sleek dark suit that somehow made him look even more arrogant than usual. For a moment, none of us spoke. Then Zane shot to his feet.“What the fuck are you doing here?” he demanded angrily. “Are you trying to piss me off?”His voice was loud enough that several heads turned in our direction.A ripple of whispers spread through the nearby seats. My heart sank in embarrassment.I quickly grabbed Zane’s hand and stood up beside him.“Zane,” I whispered urgently. “Please calm down.”Louise’s lips curled into a mocking smile.“That’s right, Zane,” he said lazily. “Show these people how much of a beast you are.”Then he leaned closer to Zane and whispered just loud enough for us to hear.“Don’t forget there are humans here.”His smile widened.“Let them see who you really are.”My eyes widened in shock.Werewolves were forbidden from revealing themselves to hum

  • Alpha Zane’s Surrogate   Chapter 81: Dressed To Captivate!

Naya’s POVI stood in front of the wardrobe, staring at the endless rows of clothes hanging neatly inside. For someone who had once owned nothing but two plain dresses, the sight still felt unreal. There were gowns, skirts, blouses, jackets… all arranged by color and style like something out of a dream. And somehow, none of them seemed right.“I think this looks beautiful.”Winnie’s voice came from behind me as she pointed excitedly at a bright yellow dress hanging near the center.I glanced at it.Then shook my head.“I’m going to an auction, not a nightclub,” I said.“If I wear that, the entire room will stare at me like hawks.”Winnie tilted her head, considering my point.“…You might be right.”She turned back to the wardrobe and pulled out another dress.“What about this one?”I sighed softly.“I don’t know, Winnie.”Frustration was beginning to creep into my voice.I glanced at the clock on the wall. Two hours. That was all the time I had left to get ready. And I still hadn’t ch
