I don't like being told what to do.
Bradley had told me the truth, but I didn't listen, just because I didn't like hearing the truth. As bitter as his words were, it was also the truth. Shame washes over me like a wave and I keep asking the goddess for forgiveness.
I marked my mate last night. You can see the mark on her neck. It's scary, what I have done, and despite the shame and guilt I felt for my actions, there was also this feeling of happiness knowing that I have a claim on her.
She was upset when she found out, and Lyles was forced to cheer her up.
Nothing was hidden under the sun anymore. She knows everything, knows us for who we truly her, hates us and it is all my fault.
But that isn't the reigning news in the rumour mill. Rumour has it that Alpha Davidson had scragged his mate just to be with me. They said she was tortured before death, but I don't believe it. That is why I am dressing up to confirm the truth myself.
A knock is heard on the door. I zip up before saying, "Yes, come in".
It's Lyles. 'You shouldn't be with Davidson now that he is not stable. I saw her body myself".
"I have known Davidson for years now and I know he is stable enough not to hurt me. You? Not so much."
"Crinka, I am serious. What you really should be doing right now is explaining to the pack that mark on her neck".
"I marked my mate. Is that a problem? What is wrong with you Lyles? What is wrong with everybody? I can fuck their opinions but you Lyles? Don't you want to see me happy?"
"I want you to be happy Crinka, but not in this manner".
'Then in what manner Lyles? In what manner? How is marking my mate a crime? I have tried my best for the pack yet nobody, not even a single soul, wants to try their best for me. Why? Where did I go wrong Lyles? Where?"
"Marking her. You shouldn't have marked her Crinka. The female wanted nothing to do with you yet you forcefully claimed her as yours. Look, I am done cleaning your sorry arse. the sooner you start owning up to your responsibilities the better for you. Have a nice day. Goodbye."
I want to cry. I didn't sign up for any of this. Why did the goddess punish me with a female? I only wanted a male who would love me as much as I would love him, but instead of a loving male, I get a female who wants nothing to do with me. Maybe mates are not for me. This is my fate, and I will accept it, no matter the pain it is putting me through.

Davidson's pack is quiet when I arrive and I figure they are mourning Luna's death. If what I am hearing is true, then David would be forced to step down and let someone else take over.
The packed house is large, hosting about five hundred wolves. Davidson was doing a great job taking care of these wolves.
I pass by a group of old women on my way to David's chambers. One stopped me. A human female. She was weeping while the rest were wailing.
"She was pregnant my lady, She was pregnant".
It was a shame really, but what has happened has happened, nothing can change it. I felt sorry for the deceased but more sorry for Davidson. Losing a mate would change everything for him. I offer no words of comfort to the crying woman, before leaving for his chambers.
"You shouldn't be here".
"That's a little too late isn't it?"
Her body is in a corner of the room. Her neck is at an awkward angle. Her intestines are put on display. The placenta is the only thing connecting her and her baby. The umbilical cord is broken in two.
I gasp. "David, what have you done?"
"The right thing?"
'How can killing be the right thing? The right thing would have been to sort out your differences not kill her".
"The baby is not even mine". He says coolly.
"Still. You shouldn't have done this David. You could have at least waited for the baby to be born to confirm the paternity".
"She burnt my mark Cersei. She doesn't even want anything to do with me. Any man would have done to her what I did."
"Any man? Can you hear yourself, David? Only monsters do something like this. This is wrong."
"I did nothing wrong my love. I only wanted us to be together".
"I have a mate David, I can't be with you".
I am crying now. David encases me in his bloody arms and tries to wipe my tears. I stop him.
"Leave him and be with me. We can leave from here, just the two of us".
He doesn't understand the gravity of what he has just done, or maybe he doesn't want to. Either way, this was the aftereffect of his mate's death on him. Loss of sanity.
"David, why can't you understand? You just killed your mate. You are a murderer David, I can't run away with a murderer."
He releases me.
"Don't you love me anymore Cersei? I never touched her for once Cersei. The only thing we shared was a slippery kiss. That was all I swear".
Only David would think a kiss is slippery.
"I love you David. I still do but...".
"Then we don't have a problem".
I wish he would just understand. Why is he refusing to? Why?"
'We don't exist anymore David. We died the day she died. Goodbye David. Take care of yourself".
I shouldn't have left him alone, but I can't let my feelings for the bastard override my decisions. My best friend is gone and I know he is never coming back.

It has been three weeks since David stepped down forcefully and six weeks since I have held the Icelander hostage. Each day doesn't pass where Lyles is pestering me to let him go.
So I decided to visit the devil himself.
I don't like what I find when I am in his cell.
An unchained and naked Icelander is massaging Sarai's breasts. She releases a breathy moan and I start to cry.
'How could you?" I remove my shoe and throw it at her. She ducks and steps away from him.
"For your information, I have no interest in you. In the past two weeks I have been here, your men didn't hesitate to please me. Your prisoner has just been a bonus".
I cry harder, taking off the other shoe, but it hits the Icelander instead. He doesn't flinch. I lunge. Sarai ducks out of the way.
I start hitting him. Blows after blows kick after kick. He is bleeding and so am I.
"Crinka stop!".
I am in my world, so I don't stop. Lyles holds my arms and I scream, "Let me go. Let go of me!".
I am held down by Lukas and Leo is driving Sarai out of the cell. They don't ask questions. Questions don't need to be asked.
Lyles descends on the goddamned Icelander and I end up being the one begging him to stop.
"Lyles, stop!".
Lyles doesn't listen to me, giving more damage to the Icelander than I had done.
What Lyles doesn't know is, each time he hurts this rogue, he is hurting me in return.
My body aches all over and I am being released. I clutch my chest in pain. I shouldn't be hurting, but having his scent on me, within me, made his pain my pain and his blows my blows.
"Lyles," My voice is a broken whisper. "Please stop".
He stops. Everybody is breathing hard but his are laboured. His wounds have reopened and he is bleeding like there is no tomorrow.
"Are you okay?", Lyles asks me, but I don't answer him. My gaze is on the Icelander.
"Fuck shit. I didn't even know she was your mate".
"How did he end up unchained?" I ask Leo before the bastard starts laughing.
"So what's it like Alpha? To have a female as your mate?"
He is mocking me. He is so mocking me.
"Leave us". My voice is demanding.
"Crinka, you can't be serious. This guy is mentally unstable" Leo and Lukas have left but an unwilling Lyles still stands. "Lyles, I will handle this okay? Just go".
"If you need me, Scream". Lyles yells
"She won't be needing you bastard", the prisoner snarls before leaving. I stand up.
"You knew she was my mate didn't you?"
"If I did, it doesn't matter. I have something you don't have and can never have".
"What is that?"
"A dick". To prove his point, he presses his front against my back. His dick pokes me in the back.
"By the way, the name is Sia".
All I had to do was drive a stake through her heart and it would be all over. Father wouldn’t have to make the trip. The burden on our heads would be gone, and things would go back to being normal. The only disadvantage of her death, would be mine, and that of our son. Our son. I don’t want him to die, but he has to. I had to choose, and I chose her. But what does it matter now? I have been asked to kill her, and it would be treason on my path if I let her live. My weapon was sharpened, and all I had to do was kill her and be done with it. A slit at her throat or a stab to her heart. She wouldn’t see it coming, my blade, not when she’s fast asleep at the sweetheart garden, the moon casting a soft glow over her peaceful face. It’s funny that she can sleep so peacefully after the stunt she pulled. I envied her for a moment, envied her ability to sleep despite the shit that was happening around her. I jumped down from the horse, landing on my feet swiftly. Whipping out my blade, I
Yes, there's a sequel for the book after all. I advise that you follow my Facebook page, Cool Lette, to know when this sequel will be available on Goodnovel. Now, enjoy the synopsis, and a little insight.Synopsis:Chaos.It has always been around, shimmering within the surface, waiting for someone or something to break the surface and set it free. And I just happened to be the perfect someone.I never meant to do it; it just sort of happened. Somehow, I had managed to set Sycamore free from the mental cage Sia had sentenced him to.And now, Ruarc’s surrender to his Lycan was also my fault. Honestly, taking the blame wasn’t going to change the fact that I have broken the surface.Chaos is here and I’m afraid it has come to stay.*****"I want her dead."These four words, spoken with chilling determination, sliced through the frigid air of the Icelands like a sharp blade. The speaker, Thjis, whose eyes were once filled with compassion, now harbored an unrelenting verdict that sent shiv
“Do you want me to beat him for you?” A chuckle escapes my lips as I walk further down, toward the balcony. The wind hit me with full force and I held onto the railing to keep myself from falling. I could see the streets from up here and I was amazed at the snow-blanketed roofs and the Christmas lights that connected the residential houses. People walked in groups, chatting and laughing, unbothered by the snow that fell from the skies. It reminded me of Bluestone. Not the snow, but the unity among people. I sigh as Lukas’ letter comes to mind. I need to go back, but how? Thjis wouldn’t let me go easily, nor will Dogara, especially now I’m pregnant with her grandchild. Ugh! Everything is so messed up. Things can never go back to normal, so I am just going to make the most out of it. “No, I don’t need you to beat him for me Mujin.” “You sure? ‘Cause it seemed like you wanted to bury your fist in his face.” “Yeah, I want to but…” “But nothing. Do it Crinka. Maybe it will make you ha
“My lady, please forgive me.”I took another selfie, (the shit is amazing), uninterested in Mila’s apology. She had been apologizing since morning. Well it’s still morning, but I haven't answered her. Why can’t she take the hint and just let me be?The other concubines had left for the cathedral and now it just remained the servants, my entourage and I. I was a bit surprised that ‘Lady Igrith’ didn’t ask her guards to bound me up and drag me to the cathedral. But then again, I suppose she doesn’t want to get on Ruarc’s bad side.Speaking of entourage, where the fuck is Mujin?I have a lot of questions to ask him, but I haven’t seen him since. Mila might know where he’s hiding since she served him breakfast, but I didn’t want to talk to her. Talking to her means I have forgiven her, and I didn’t want to think I have. Sighing, I face my handmaiden and friend, calling her out, “Mila?”“Yes, my lady?”“Apologize one more time, and I’ll rip out your tongue, regardless of our shaky friendsh
A bead of sweat rolled down her back, and Dogara was surprised at the new feeling. She hadn’t broken a sweat in a thousand years, and it took climbing up a mountain top to do so. Heaving a sigh, she stared at the blanket laid out on the top, taking in the picnic basket. She hadn’t seen one in a thousand years. She definitely needed to start leaving the Icelands more.A gust of wind blew, knocking her off her feet. She would have fallen off, if Zikur didn’t catch her when he did. His strong arms wrapped around her waist, and Dogara tingled from where he touched her. This was madness. She wasn’t supposed to be feeling this way, but she couldn’t help but wish he wouldn’t let go. She realized then, that she liked it when he touched her.Shaking her head to get rid of the thought, she stepped out of his arms, and faced him.“Why did you bring me here?”“I thought we could enjoy the view together. I mean, haven’t you ever wondered what your lands would look like from a mountain top?”She ha
“Zora, how many hours left to breakfast?”The young maid paused and glanced at the clock. “Two, my princess.”“Do you think that’s enough to know about someone?”, Waxlyn asked.“Depends on the person, my princess.”“It’s Gales.”“Oh. Why would you want to know more about a farmhand’s son my princess?”Waxlyn eyed her. “Is questioning your princess what you’re being paid for?”Zora shook her head, eyes glued to the floor. “No my princess. Sorry, my princess.”Waxlyn rolled her eyes. “I’ll try on the dress later. There’s somewhere I have to go first.”She dashed out of the room and rushed up to the attic, ignoring the servants’ look as she passed them. The chair he frequently warmed was empty so she decided to check if he was in the library. A zap of electricity shot up her arm once she touched the door knob.hissing, she retreated, massaging her affected arm.“You royals never learn, do you?”She turned around as he appeared form the shadows. He leaned against the railing and she took h
The tequila only made her miserable.Setting aside the empty glass cup, she walked over to the fridge and opened it, shocked to find it empty. She checked the freezer and was surprised to find it empty as well. What the actual fuck? She stormed into his room unannounced and Massa looked up from the magazine he was reading.“What happened to all the blood?”Massa feigned ignorance as he sat up. “What blood?”She glared at him. “Don’t be stupid Massa. You know exactly what I’m talking about.”“No, I don’t.”“The fuck Massa! I’m goddamned hungry and there’s no single bag of blood in the kitchen! How the fuck did that happen?”“I don’t know.”She rose a brow. “What the fuck do you mean by you don’t know? Only you and I have been here. I don't know what happened to the blood, which means you should know.”“Honestly, I don’t.”She groaned. “Massa!”He rolled his eyes and returned his attention to the magazine. “You know, there are other ways to expel the hunger.”She glared at him. “If you
The sun was not yet up in the sky by the time Mila woke me up from sleep. Yawning loudly, I glared at her as I sat up in bed.“Good gracious, Mila. Why have you woken me up this early? Classes with the princess begins after she has had breakfast and that is by 9am!”“I’m very sorry my lady. I just wanted you to use the bathhouse first.”“Use the bathhouse first? What do you mean? Is there only one bathhouse in this palace?”“Yes, my lady, which is why I want you to use it first. The other concubines have their bath by five a.m. and seeing that you’re not yet comfortable in their midst, I woke you up by four, so that you can get clean before them.”“And why can’t I do it later? You know, when I feel like?”“I’m afraid not, my lady. Lady Igrith closes the bathhouse once it’s time for breakfast.”Closes? Is it a shop or something? “And when is breakfast time?”“By eight, my lady.”“Just how many concubines are there that they need three hours to dress up?”“They don’t use three hours to
Preet. Preet.Wilhelm rolled in his bed as he pried his eyes open. Who the fuck was calling him this late a t night? He stretched out his arm and reached for his phone. Popping himself up on his elbow, he read the caller ID, cursing hard when he realized who it was.Why the heck didn’t she call him since? Why now, when he was tired?Sighing, he answered and put the phone to his ear.“Leira, what is it now? I told you to never call me at night.”“I was really worried about you. Willy, don’t you think it’s time you came home?”Wilhelm didn’t consider that gigantic palace as his home, but he wasn’t ready to tell Leira that. “My name is Wilhelm, not Willy. Besides, I did tell you that I would only return after my position as the Crown Prince has been secured. So, if you’re calling to say this, end this call at once.”She sniffed. “Your cruel words affect me. Surely you mustn't plan on leaving me here all alone.”He bristled. “You’re not alone. My sisters are there, my brother as well.”“N
