Kane's POV

City wolves are a strange lot. They’re mostly lone wolves, aligning with a ragtag type of pack so they won’t be branded as rogues, but when the shit hits the fan, we can always count on them. “How many did you get?” I ask Phillip.

“I didn’t count your majesty, more than a hundred, less than two hundred.”

"Good," I reply. “You did well.”

“They’re outraged. City wolves or not, Willow is still their queen, and the humans had no right to take her. The peace treaty states that as long as we stay in our territories and are part of a pack, we can’t be hunted.”

“Hm. I think it’s safe to say that the peace treaty has been broken.”

“Yeah, no kidding. What are your orders?”

“I don’t have any yet. I’m waiting to hear what the nymph has to say.”

“It all hinges on her?”

“What we do next does, yes.”

“Either way, we get to kill some Templars right? Because I made them a promise.”

“Yes, you’ll get to kill some Templars.”

Phillip grins. “Good. We want her back.”

“I know, so do I.
