Chapter 34

Silence. The only sound of the clock ticking on the wall and the fan blades rotating stay profound in the room. Tessa stands like a statue in front of the broken fragments of my violence, her chin resting on the back of her hand. Meanwhile my dad's words and actions float inside me. Is mom safe? Was it a mistake to leave her alone with dad? 

"Over fried burgers! I can't think of any idea of how we can clean all this up." Tessa whines. 

"Maybe we should just keep it all hidden here and later we can work on how to transport it to the store room." I say,my eyes remaining on the grey windowsill. Strange that in the illusion of mine, the colour was a dark red. Or maybe it appears red because of the pale blue light in the room. But the darkness outside…

"Cinn? Cinn?" Someone jerks my shoulder breaking my thoughts and I turn around to find Tessa standing with her forehead folding into stress lines
