The pallet was definitely better and warmer than the cold hard rock and now that she began to feel chilly after eating food despite the fire. A dry bed was a welcome thought. “No, thanks!” she replied. “I would rather sleep next to Dominique,” not sounding like she meant it but more out of arrogance.
“Ah pup, you break my heart,” he replied with a smirk and took the plate from her. Together they had finished the food off the plate. He came back to lie down on the pallet and then turned on his side and patted the bed next to him. “This is nicer. Come.”
From the corner of her eye, she saw Dominique stirring. He was awake and listening to them? “Look Ryder, if you think that I am going to sleep with you, then you are highly mistaken.” She heard Dominique’s soft chuckle.
