#Chapter 16 (Deonna) Congenital Heart Condition

I began waking up from my fever-induced dream; confused about my whereabouts. The room was dimly lit by candle lights, and I was covered in a maroon comforter on top of a bed that began looking more familiar the more I woke up.

I felt a cold compressed washcloth over my heated forehead, the cold water dripping down my features and soothing away the hotness the fever brought me. With each breath I took, I realized how badly my chest ached; I could feel my beating heart pressing against my chest, making each movement more painful than the last.

A man stood at the end of the bed; he was a bit shorter and hardly had any hair. But the hair he did have I noticed to be a blonde shade. He wore a white trench coat with a blue blazer underneath and black pants. He wore glasses that nearly covered the entire top of his face; in his hands was a clipboard that he appeared to be reading some notes from it to Marlon who also stood nearby.
