Chapter 27: Urge to stifle a yawn

"Did I really just say nobody?" I quietly mumble to myself, pondering the words I've just uttered.

But then again, upon reflection, I find my response satisfactory. It's best not to divulge too much and simply provide a standard answer; after all, apart from King Damon and perhaps his Butler, nobody here truly knows the purpose.

Alpha Damon doesn't seem like those who would discreetly let anything out just because someone asked him to, right? So there shouldn't be any issues.

Content with my reply, I inadvertently ignore Emily, oblivious to the facial changes in her expression from sadness to ugliness.

Only when I hear her dripping sarcasm do I realize something is amiss. "Wow, you must truly be a nobody," her words cut through the air, laden with scorn.

I remain silent, studying her, attempting to decipher her intentions beneath the sarcasm. Despite recognizing the sarcasm, I struggle to grasp its exact meaning.
