Chapter 37: She's the girl

I glanced at her, feeling annoyed by her clinginess. Irritation filled my eyes as I contemplated pushing her hands away from me.

Just as I was about to act on my irritation, my gaze unexpectedly landed on Jane.

With a furrowed brow, I noticed Jane throwing glances in our direction. She seemed somewhat pleased.

Wait, why was she wearing that expression? No one had done anything to upset her at the moment, so what could be the reason for her mood?

Was… it that she was jealous!

As those last words escaped from my mind, my eyes widened looking stunned. Her expression towards Emily seems kinda weird and I could only link it to being upset about our interaction.

Seeing this expression of hers, I continued to indulge, in whatever nonsense Emily was performing.

“Here, have this one.” She passed another meal to my plate, and I simply let her go ahead, even though I was feeling irritated.

But, what I'd my thoughts were wrong? What if those looks in her eyes weren't because of jealousy?
