ALEXANDER’S POV

As I strode to the clinic, I felt like I’d run a thousand—mile marathon yet I still haven’t reached the place. Diana’s soft whimpers filled my ears each time I jumped or turned in another direction as I headed to the clinic. I growl in annoyance. Why the fuck is the clinic this far from the pack house? That for sure is gonna change as soon as I’m done here.

“Fuck!” I made a leap when blood splattered on the ground at the same time my foot landed. It was Diana’s blood.

Glancing down, I see Diana’s face turn pale and shit, I spot blood smeared all over her arms. Her canines slowly retreating, her claws descending back to where they belong.

Her eyes are closed, and I couldn’t help but admire her thick, long lashes sweeping her bottom eyes.

My heart raced, and once again I was reminded of my Diana, the woman I loved. The woman who used to stare up at me with those big, round, innocent eyes, gazing deep into me. It was apparent her gaze reached even my heart, securing a plac
