SELENE'S POV

When a person would be useful to me, I can tell from the minute I meet them.

I have had rumors about Killian's brother, who had betrayed the pack, making an appearance in the pack again, this time claiming to be redeemed and ready to help the pack reach a greater height.

The thing about betrayers is, they can never grow out of it completely. It's something you are born with, I believe, and once you start on that path, there is no going back, no matter what.

But of course, Killian doesn't know this, and he was clearly willing to accept his brother back into his estate. That wasn't really a concern to me, I could fold my hands and watch Sam destroy the pack from within. Makes my work even much more easier.

But the minute I met him, I realized I could put him to use, a very vital use that is. So with no time to waste, I set into action.

I gathered that he loves to spend his evenings in the garden "resting," they said. But I would love to give it a much more logical term

CELESTE’S POVI snapped out of the dream with so much violence that I pushed myself off the bed. The force I used to hit my bum on the marble floor shocked off any remaining sleep from my eyes. I was wide awake in seconds and staring across the room, totally disheveled. It took a while to gather myself and pull myself up from the floor, and back to the bed.The dream today had been a bit hazy, less violent, but very much disturbing. At first, I saw myself walking across an endless rose field, my entire form nearly swallowed by the vast flowers growing side by side while creating a lone path in the middle, which I walked through. At some point, I halted and to

SELENA’S POV“She’s an interesting one, I would say.” Sam gradually moved his fingers around his temple while deeply in thought. “Is that why you are striving to stay close to her?” I inquired curiously. We have been discussing Celeste for the past thirty minutes on average. So far, I can safely say we have established a mutual understanding of where the conversation was heading. I wasn’t expecting him to pick it up this fast, but I wasn’t complaining that he did—quite the opposite. At least now I know I don't have to take him through every process. “Is that why you are lacing around her all the time?” Instead of responding to mine, he asked me the same question, with an equal amount of vigor. “I am a witch.” I cleared my throat and let a soft smile settle comfortably on my face. “A one who knew exactly what she was doing, I will say so myself. Celeste has powers, powers that would yield literally anything, bend any pack to do her bidding. And all she needs to unlock this is a sor

KILLIAN’S POVBut he managed to put the playacting back up before anyone else could notice. With his visage incredibly controlled, Sam turned to face me. "Clarity. I've witnessed the werewolf community's disintegration. I've shared my life with the desperate and the broken. I know what motivates them. Additionally, I can assist in preventing the pack from being caught off guard once more.” It didn't get past me that he intentionally chose to ignore the second question. "You believe that's sufficient?" Standing, I asked. "You believe that wearing clean boots and saying nice things will make up for everything?""Killian, I'm not pleading for your forgiveness," Sam answered. "I'm requesting to be of assistance."“Nobody asked for it, you are like a corroded blade that's trying to look shiny.” With more of a recommendation than an order, Corwin said, "Sit, Killian."I took a seat. Misha leaned closer. "You claim to have evolved. What evidence do you have?”He gradually turned toward me,

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 83

Celeste POVOrion’s breath was warm against my skin as he slowly lifted my thighs. Then he kept lifting me up, and I arched my back instinctively until my wet coochie was at the same level with his face. I gasped, and held onto the iron bar above me for balance.Without hesitation, he buried his mouth in-between my thighs, his tongue swirling on my swollen clitoris like an expert.A soft moan escaped from my lips, and my thighs shook around his head. His lips didn't take any break. He was even more passionate than Keto with his mouth.I groaned in pleasure, unable to keep quiet. “Orion,” I gasped, my voice was laced with desire. My hips jerked against his mouth as the pleasure heightened. “Don’t stop… please, fuck."There was no gentleness in his approach, and my breathing became irregular as I felt orgasm building rapidly inside me.I was about to have the craziest orgasm of my life. Then, I couldn't help it as it came, my screams shook the basement. “FUCK ME,” I begged, my brea

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 82

Celeste's POVNot nearly enough nerve to go around, two boxes of binding cuffs, and three crates of wolfsbane salve. As I wiped the perspiration from my brow, I partially heard the conversation of omegas stacking herbs laced with moonstone into packs. There was a tense atmosphere in the prep hall, a mixture of storm tension and excitement for the upcoming full moon. To sense it, you didn't need to be gifted. The walls appeared to hold their breath as well."Celeste, would you please double-check the balm inventory?" With a clipboard in hand and a nervous tone, Maris inquired."Once more?" I raised a brow in echo. "Two nights ago, we already took stock.""I understand. However, either someone is stockpiling, or they are simply disappearing."This wasn't the first thing that had disappeared recently, so it wasn't the missing balm that made my stomach turn. And it bothered me more and more the more I thought about it. After putting that idea in my back pocket, I made my way to the medica

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 81: The Council meeting

Killian's point of view Council days are always exhausting. The room always smelled of polished tradition and the subtle stench of politics, not because I was afraid of them, definitely not, I wasn't. The High Hall was not designed with comfort in mind. Its purpose was to frighten and to give the impression of a sacred space. Banners from a century ago hang over our heads like judgment, and there are stone columns and panels made of dark mahogany. Everything was a reflection of high expectations, power, and legacy. And my brother was the target of it all today.Six elders in their ceremonial robes were sitting on either side of Sam, who stood in the middle of the room. His face was cautious, his hair slicked back. He was calm in fact too damned calm, almost."Samuel Rykov," said Elder Matteo, his voice piercing. "To discuss your reinitiation into the Obsidian Syndicate, you have asked for an audience and we have given it to you, so talk.”Sam lowered his head a little. "Thank you, El

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 80: Nightmare Horse

Celeste's POVWow! Isn’t life so good? Somehow, I was lucid enough to tell that all the craziness I was seeing belonged to a dream world. No, not a dream in the context of a future I desire. Not that. Rather, it was an actual my-eyes-are-closed-in-sleep dream. You know, a journey of the mind that it conjures up that you usually wouldn't be able to tell apart from reality.I initially believed I was having a lovely dream. In the middle of a field I didn't recognise, I stood barefoot, but for some reason, it felt familiar and of course welcome. The air smelled like wild mint and jasmine, and the grass felt soft underfoot. My favourite time of day was dusk, and the sky above me was tinted in gold and lavender. There was only a soft silence that enveloped me like a blanket; there was no wind.It was quiet. Warm. Secure.I heard laughter in the distance. The joyful, boisterous voices of children reverberated like a song across the silence. Even though I couldn't see them, the music gave me

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   Chapter 79: A Good Day, Mostly

Celeste's POVI was so damn sweaty as I woke up. Something must have jolted me awake. At the moment, I couldn’t seem to think clearly. Why am I not surprised, though? Still, I was not as sweaty or out of breath as I tend to be in the mornings these days. Simply put, warm. Like a soft touch, the light brushed the bed as it spilled through the drapes. I buried my head more in the pillow and remained there for a while, listening to the noises of the neighbourhood starting to reverberate.Laughter, footsteps, and voices.Typical.Selene was seemingly nowhere, and that to me was a more than welcome development. No shifting ideas that weren't mine, no whispers in my mind, and no shadows pulling at the edges of my consciousness.I was alone. It was also pleasant.I slowly woke up my limbs by stretching beneath the covers. I felt the little wounds over my palm, traces of something I still didn't entirely recall, when my fingers touched the edge of the blankets. I couldn't bear the thought of
