SELENA’S POV

“Come little one, you are going to adore my gift.” I created a single rose flower with the other hand behind my back and when she was close enough, I presented it.

“Please don’t hurt her.” The mother lamented.

“How do you see the flower?” I ignored her and asked the little one.

“It’s beautiful.” She had a hard time pronouncing the word “beautiful,” but fortunately, I caught it quite alright.

“I am glad you love your gift, go to Mummy.” I let go of her hand, and she jogged to where her mother stood, at the far corner of the room, clutching onto her eldest as her life depended on it. Well, technically, their whole lives depend on someone, and she’s about to find out soon enough.

“What do you want from us? We are peasants for Goddess’s sake, we have nothing to offer.” She was quick to sense serious danger, I would give her that, as she was already wailing, and so was her eldest.

Her question, though, did come at the exact time I wanted, and so I responded. “Look at me

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 123

KILLIAN’S POVI should have known Celeste was too damn stubborn for her good. Thankfully, the wound wasn't that deep and I had her mended almost immediately. I knew next time, to keep her under lock and key. Or she will end up being the dead of me. “I won’t call what happened out there victory, they left, we didn’t drive them out.” I declared, adrenaline still pumping through my veins. We retreated back to the estate after they left, and I had just called in for an urgent meeting. We lost more than a dozen weak wolves, and that is saying a lot. They had really planned this attack, and by all indications, everything worked well for them. I still believe that they didn't retreat because they were overpowered; they headed out because they had managed to fulfill what they came for. I still don't understand why Joan would act this way when the last time we spoke, we were trying to ally against Sam. The fact that Sam had dropped everything and returned home must have irked her. That was

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 122

CELESTE’S POVI knew I stood no chance against them. I was going to end up in the pool of my own blood before I even make any attempt at attacking. So there was only one logical thing left for me to do.Put some distance between us.I wasn’t retreating like a coward, I was only doing what every logical werewolf with no wolf would do. Had it been I was able to manifest my wolf, I am sure I would have faced them without thinking twice. Until then, I only follow logic.I took a single step back, and they immediately covered the distance I created. It was as if everyone else was in their own world, and this is mine, faced by five gigantic rogues.

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 121

CELESTE'S POVI didn't leave. I couldn't find it in me to leave him out there fighting alone while I was tugged in safely behind the locked door and key like a damn princess in distress. I am not a princess, so I sure as heck won't let my distress be handled by another, not even my mate. Flora refused to come with me even though her mate was out there, too. She said, "Any day you have kids, we will have that conversation." I wasn't trying to judge her or anything, but how could I survive in here knowing my mate is out there risking his life? It's best that she stays anyway. I wouldn't have been comfortable with leaving the kids all by themselves, even though I was more inclined toward calling a maid to stay with them. After we reached the room, I turned back and returned to the ceremony ground, where the chaos had doubled, if that was even possible. Even though the whole place was marbled with carved stones, the amount of dust around made it impossible to see beyond my stretched h

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 120

KILLIAN'S POVWe made a damn mistake. Despite having planned everything to perfection, we absurdly left one thing out.Security.None of us thought it was necessary to have our warriors patrolling the ceremony ground because, well, we are in the heart of our pack, what's the worst that could happen? The worst that could happen was happening right in front of my eyes.Rogues attack. The knowledge of our ceremony usually reaches far and wide across the country, inviting every interested person to come and have a glimpse of our elegant culture.

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 119

CELESTE'S POVThe feast was nothing like I had ever seen before. The Moonstone Howl pack also observes the annual Blue Moon's feast, but this is overwhelmingly enormous. The air was vibrating with the beat of drums and murmuring of people. Every single detail was carved to perfection, from the performance stage to the space provided for the populace, every single thing, down to the flowers used, was intentionally chosen. I watched in awe as the performing team moved in perfect sync, their bodies swaying like trees during a windstorm. It's beautiful, mesmerizing even. I have just stepped onto the ceremonial ground, Flora yapping beside me about how this year wasn't as breathtaking as last year's. If this isn't breathtaking, then I might have a heart attack if I see what breathtaking was supposed to look like. My eyes zeroed in on Killian the minute he was within my sight distance, not because I was searching for him and certainly not because I could feel his presence tugging at the

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 118

KILLIAN'S POVIt's been a month since the incident with the witch. Life had pretty much returned to normal, roaming from one pack meeting to another, all the while keeping a close eye on our borders.Almost losing my mate had me realize and appreciate each moment I spent with her, not that I didn't enjoy it before, but I have learned to appreciate it even more, to understand that each moment spent with her was a luxury.I have checked my wristwatch for the umpteenth time since this meeting began. It was the final meeting before the blue moon's feast, a significant ceremony second only to the mating ceremony held in the pack. The elders were hell bent on revising everythi
