Selene's POV

Walking out of the meeting hall had surprisingly made me feel better. It was good to see I had power over the werewolves. They wouldn't know what hit them.

Killian had signed their death warrant. Four maids were waiting for me and the tallest, a young pretty lady, showed me the way.

“Follow me,” she said. I didn't hesitate and let my bag drop to the floor. The maids stayed at both my sides, having a blank expression.

The blonde maid picked it up, and I caught a silent hiss from her. I had just made an enemy. She wouldn't last a day with me.

The only sound I could hear was my heels stepping on the floor. Something wasn’t right here.

Their hands shook slightly as they opened the door leading to a different hallway.

And then, I noticed. This wasn't the way to the rooms.

Where the hell were they going?

I stopped walking, and the maids halted, turning to look at me. “Where are we going?”

“This isn't the way to the rooms,” I complained.

They kept quiet, infuriating me. I

KILLIAN’S POVI was back in the woods again, with no idea how I got there. This time around, already familiar with the situation, I jolted up from the forest floor where I lay and started on the route that felt right to me. I didn't waste time thinking or trying to make sense of the situation. I was so mad at being unable to control what happened around me these days. I mean, for how long is this going to last? I can’t afford to have myself waking up in the forest every night with no memory of how I got there. Making a mental note to see the doctor the next morning, I sprinted through the trees. Maybe it had something to do with the antidote I drank. A counter-effect of some sort. But a strange sound caused me to slow down my speed. At first, I assumed it was just a forest animal that had been hurt, but as I slowed down more, I realized it wasn’t. It was far from that. It was the unmistakable cry of a werewolf. I stopped in my tracks, trying to decide what to do next. I remembered I

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 171

CELESTE’S POVTrue to the doctor’s words, Killian’s wound healed completely the next morning. There was no sign of him ever being wounded there. The couple of days after that were some of the best in my life. We were by each other, enjoying each other’s company and getting to know each other even more. It was beautiful. Then, as fate would usually have it, things began to go haywire. I started to notice some off-putting behaviour from Killian. At first, they were mild and easily dismissive, but slowly they increased. And with each passing day, his behaviour becomes more questionable. From moments of utter silence, which usually last over an hour, to jerky movements and unfamiliar phrases.Like the night he called me a “witch” in a voice that I could swear wasn't his. And then he goes right into denying it when I brought it up. We were seated in the dining room for dinner, as we usually do after he returned from his daily duty. We were engaged in an intense argument about something

JEREMY'S POVI was watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Working with Selena has given me a good insight into how the supposed "strongest Alpha" can be tackled easily. And after her death, I vowed to myself that I was going to find a way to take him down. Not because I wanted to avenge her or anything. But for myself, for my ego, and for every other person who feels Killian had his feet on their neck.Since then, I withdrew from the council, and thanks to that distraction he has for a mate, he doesn't even notice my absence. I have been working alongside the witches, looking for a weak opening to slip in, something we can use to our advantage. I dragged Victor in, but I never thought he would be stupid enough to let himself get caught.

KILLIAN'S POVI was sleeping on my bed.Or at least that was what I remembered. Because now, my back was pressed against a rough, hard tree bark, not the mattress. My nostrils were filled with the scent of wet moss and earth. As I recalled, Celeste was wrapped around me, but now, I felt alone. The silence was unnatural. There was no movement or breathing, as I would usually sense when she was close, which meant one thing: She wasn't close. That single realization forced me to open my eyes. I stared around in utter confusion and awe. I was indeed in the forest, and I wasn't just dreaming. I blinked multiple times to make sure I wasn't just imagining things

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 168

CELESTE’S POVI said goodbye to Kristen and laughed when he mentioned that he hoped that would be the last time I showed up there. Honestly, I was hoping the same thing, too.I raced up the stairs, two at a time, eager to meet Killian but mostly to get away from Victor. I couldn't for the life of me wrap my head around what he had said.Fortunately for me, Killian was already seated at the dining table when I showed up. Even more to uplift my spirit, he was surrounded by his doctors, and they had a crystal vial filled to the brim with a glowing pale green liquid. No one needed to tell me what that was supposed to be.“It seems I showed up right on time.” I beamed

  • Alpha's Cursed Twain   CHAPTER 167

CELESTE'S POV"Victor was the second person to be imprisoned in the dungeon after it was abandoned for decades, " Kristen said. My mother was the first, but unlike her, his cell was close to the main entrance, the closest to the entrance door, actually. After Kristen had guided me in with two guards for protection, he had closed the large door back up. At that moment, I was tempted to dash down the hallway and check on my mother. I told her how to escape, but she hasn't made any attempts yet. The suspense was killing me.But I didn't, I managed to talk myself out of it. I have done for her what I could; it's now left for her to use that information wisely."The door's he
