INICIAR SESIÓNValerie’s POVI had just shut down my laptop and got ready for bed. Remembering I had to mindlink Valerian when he will be home, I decided to wait until it is thirty minutes before his curfew. Although I know he wouldn’t get into trouble, that kid. He always kept to himself and stayed out of trouble, and that’s exactly what makes me so worried. He acts like he has to meet everyone’s expectations of him like he doesn’t have the will to have his own.I sighed deeply, and looked up at the moon out the large ceiling to floor window beside my canopy bed.‘He came, you know,’ Liana spoke softly.I furrowed my brows.‘Who?’‘Evan. He was standing behind our door but didn’t knock,’ Liana informed me, and my eyes grew wide like saucers before snapping my head to the door. My heart is beating incredibly fast and my stomach sank.‘Do… do you think he…’ I was about to ask the full question but Liana beat me into it.‘I think he did, but it doesn’t matter, right?’ Liana asked me, but to be honest
Evan’s POVIt’s piping hot in this kitchen. I couldn’t take it anymore so I took off my shirt. At least it helped me get some air while I get things done.I have never washed dishes before, and I don’t know what the heck I’m doing, but hey, it’s just washing dishes, right? It should be that simple.I stared down at the pile of plates surrounding the sink. It’s dirty, I thought. Shit. I pick up the sponge and scrunch my nose as I scrub the dirt off the plate, when I hear a shriek from behind me. I jump and snap my head to see a blonde-haired woman with hazel eyes wearing her hair in a bun with her mouth agape. Her eyes fixed on the plate in my hand.“What are you doing?” she gasps and walks over to the sink. She puts her hand on her hip and gives me a look.“Have you never washed dishes before?” she asks then sniffs the air. Her eyes widened the next moment. I just give her a small smile. She must have picked up my alpha scent by now and would probably act nervous.“No, no, no!” she
Valerie’s POVWhat the hell is he doing?‘Jerrick, why on earth is he serving pack members?’ I mindlink Jerrick quickly.Even as I did, I didn’t stop eating.‘Well, Alpha, I am short in cooks here. As you may know, I am the only chef and I told you I wanted to train somebody to help me in cooking. He’s talented, so I took the chance,’ he explains in a respectful but firm tone.Guilt flashes through me. I remember telling him I’ll get back to his request two weeks ago when he asked for another chef. I was too busy handling other paperworks that I forgot.I look down at the bowl and around my pack members happily enjoying their meal. Some even rushed to the counter for a second bowl. Now I feel embarrassed.‘If that’s the case, then I’ll allow it. I’ll look into other applicants who can help,’ I say.‘I appreciate it, Alpha, but I’ll have Evan work with me in the meantime.’ he insists, and my head pounds.Jerrick is stubborn but he’s right.‘Alright, Jerr. Feel free to tell me if there
Valerie’s POV‘I’m starving!’ Liana huffed, but I choose to ignore her.I was planning not to eat at all, but the thought of him doing the cooking gives me anxiety. What the hell is Jerrick thinking? To top it off, Valerian seems to be distant. I don’t know what’s going on in his head lately. He’s been at training most of the time every day throughout the week. I am worried he doesn’t have a hobby other than training.“I have an idea,” I say clasping my hands together, which makes Valerian furrow his brows together.“Why don’t you go visit your uncle Zayne by the weekend? You could go with Levi,” I suggested, hoping to see some excitement in his eyes but deflate when I don’t. Not even a smidgen.“No, thanks mum. I’m busy,” he shrugs.“Busy? With what? Training?” I ask. Don’t tell me it is about - Valerian nods his head and looks at me in confusion as if I should know that.Of course I do, I am the Alpha and I hold most of the training rounds every single day. Yet, he acts like it
Valerian’s POV:I have just finished training, but I stayed two extra hours on the punching bag wanting to blow off some steam. Levi, my best friend and supposedly my uncle, since her mother mated with mom’s adoptive father, decided to join me and stay behind.Thirty more minutes he invited me to spar with him to which I agreed.Levi is like a brother I never had, so I wanted to take it easy on him at first when he pinned me down on the first strike.Enraged by that very thought, I amped it up a bit and took him seriously.“You’re going to take me seriously this time?” Levi asked with a smirk, his astonishing white hair glistening as he moved. It’s a dragon thing, I guess. All of them have odd hair colors they were born with. Levi has white hair. Others have pink, green, and even purple. I guess it depends on the color of their dragon as well.I shrugged. “Promise you won’t cry?” I asked, taunting him back and he chuckles.“If you can make me,” he said and smiles, I smirk at him.Fo
Evan’s POV:“Ha! I knew you knew something,” Jerrick laughed, patting me hard on the back and I chuckled.I only risked my life to get the approval of this guy, having snuck in here to show my capabilities, I didn’t know what I was in for but it certainly wasn’t this giant hulk who turns out to be another bear.He is on the older side, but he acts quite like a young man. Once he tasted the soup I revised, he almost burst into tears. It only saddens me that I’ve learned how to cook because Isabella didn’t want food from the staff but demanded it to be cooked by me. For three days straight, she didn’t eat and kept bugging me to cook her a meal. So, I had no choice but to roll up my sleeves and walk into the kitchen and learn cooking. I ended up being pretty good at it, like really good. I didn’t know I had a natural ability to cook delicious food. I even thought I might have been a chef in my past life, but now after everything and now that I am in Valerie’s pack, I hope I would get a
