*Alec*

I had watched her die. I had seen her life taken forcefully from her while I stood there and did nothing. My Julianne, my mate. The pain I felt now was unbearable. No one understood, they didn't understand what it feels like to loose one's mate. Even Lex my wolf had gone berserk in my head and since Julianne died I hadn't been able to shift, I hadn't even spoken to him in a while. I do not even know if he still there.

My family thought I was overreacting, even Ryan my beta thought I had gone insane, but they didn't understand what it is especially for a Lycan of my kind — I am a white wolf, which is very rare, and every white wolf had a curse and that is, we are only entitled to one mate. There is nothing like a second chance mate for us. So when I lost Julianne, I lost my one shot at happily ever after and now stupidly enough, my mother sister had to go and hire a caretaker for me.

I heaved in a sigh as I ran my hands through my hair, they were right though.. I had to get back on my feet and start leading the pack again else they be vulnerable to rogues and vampire attacks. I stood up and made my way to the bathroom, only stopping short in my tracks when I saw myself in the mirror. Who the hell is this staring at me through the mirror!

'Of course it's you' I paused, on hearing Lex's voice in my head.

'Lex? You came back?'

He scoffed at me. 'I wasn't gonna go into hiding for the rest of my life was I?'

'Fuck you!' I scowled back at him. 'Are you ready to work now?'

'I guess so, we have no choice otherwise do we?'

'No we don't'

I do not have a choice, I have to get back to work and try to get over Julianne even though it won't be easy and it probably would hurt so bad, but I had to do it — For the pack, and Lex's and my sanity and for Julianne too — she wouldn't want to see me this sad.

"I came running immediately I got your message, you could have just mind linked me whatever you had to say, add the fact that you haven't even contacted me for the past three months." Ryan huffed as he collapsed on the couch in my office.

"I was mourning dick head, how is the pack?"

"They are at least doing okay, despite the fact that they've been neglected by their Alpha for a whole three months."

"Shut up" I muttered and reclined on my chair. "There are no threats?"

"No."

"And Elliott?"

"He has gone into hiding for the time being, we have no idea where he is or what he is up to."

Elliot was a dhampir, a very powerful one at that, and the most biggest threat to my pack. For some reason he hated us and had even killed some of my pack members. Though I wasn't still sure if he was the one that ordered Julianne's murder but I needed someone to blame and if it had to be anyone, it would be him. So now I am going to hunt him down, even if it means I had to search the whole universe before I find him.

"Okay, you can leave." I said to Ryan.

"What! Was that all you wanted to say and you had me come all the way here?"

"Goddess, Ryan you whine like a baby, just leave when I'm asking kindly"

"Your meal is ready, Alpha"

"Who the hell are you!" Ryan gasped, jumping out of his chair on seeing the human caretaker mother and Leila had hired for me. When did she even enter, and how did she know I was here?

"Good day sir, My name is Bellatrix and I am the Alpha's caretaker" she replied bowing her head slightly.

So her name is Bellatrix.

"Caretaker? Like a land caretaker or what?" Ryan asked looking from me to her.

"You should leave now, Ryan. I will see you at the training ground tomorrow." I hated using my Alpha's control tone on my family and friends, but situations like now called for it. "Leave Ryan. Now"

Ryan did not wait to be told twice, he bowed his head and left silently.

"Did I not tell you to stay away from me, lady?" I growled as Bellatrix stepped closer to drop the tray on the table.

Instead of answering my question, she only grinned at me as she dropped the tray. "You clean up fine, Alpha Alec." She remarked and walked back out as if she hadn't heard me speak.

What in the hell was that? How dare she speak to me in that manner!

'Go after her.' Lex growled in my head, though I didn't need him to say that before I already shot out of my seat in search of the human lady.

*Bellatrix*

After aimlessly walking around the huge house for almost an hour without finding anything reasonable, I decided to look for him, at least he probably should have an office where he performs his duties even though according to his sister he hadn't in three months. There was only one good excuse to ask his Lycan guards about the office without raising any suspicions. Food.

I found the kitchen effortlessly, and thanks to my mother's culinary skills which she had passed down to me, I was able whip up something fast from his almost empty cabinet. The Lycan didn't even have good foodstuffs. Pfft. After making the food, I set it down on a tray and made my way outside, the Lycan guards were standing there. It didn't take much persuasion from my side for them to point out the directions to me because after all I was the Alpha's caretaker, so I went in.

Before I entered the office, I had somehow tried to eavesdrop on the conversation between him and a certain person who was inside. There was nothing much they said and nothing important to pick up except the name of a man Elliot who seems to be a threat to their pack.

Who could Elliot be though?

The man or Lycan as it seems whom Alec had been speaking with jumped in surprise at my entrance. He ended being sent out though after Alec commanded him to in a voice I was quite familiar with — an Alpha's voice of control.

I would not deny I felt flustered seeing Alec all cleaned up and for a moment i found myself getting distracted as I uttered that statement with a grin on my face despite his obvious anger at my presence.

He came after me.

"Stop! Stop right there!" Alec growled from a few feet behind me. I obeyed but I didn't turn back.

"Why do you speak to me so casually?" He asked as he stepped in front of me.

"I do not understand what you are saying, I address you with your title, that would not be considered casual."

"You know what I mean lady!"

I grinned, "Bellatrix is the name, Alpha."

"You are doing it again" he muttered. "Why are you even still here? I made it clear enough that I didn't want you around."

I am here because spying on your pack will answer the questions I've spent a long time asking. "I have no where to go." I lied, not like it was really a lie to begin with, I had nowhere to go in this territory because my home wasn't here.

Alec sighed, running his hands through his hair. "You can sleep on the couch then, and make sure you leave first thing tomorrow morning." He stated.

"I was not aware you were this mean, what kind of Alpha makes an helpless lady like myself spend the night on a couch when he has an abundance of room in his house..?" I pouted fiddling with my fingers as I sidestepped him to leave.

"So mean." I muttered again as I continued walking to the living room. "Well, if I wake up with a broken back tomorrow.. It would be better right? I won't be able to work so I can send my poor sister to school."

I bit my lips trying to hide my grin as I kept on muttering, knowing that he could hear me, given Lycans enhanced sense of hearing.

"Fine! You can use the first room on your left!" He yelled. I turned to him, smiling widely.

"Really?"

"Just stay out of my way!"

I won't, but I nodded nonetheless.

  • Alpha's Fae Mate   Chapter 51: The End.

Location: Silver Castle (The Alpha King's HQ) [Alec:] Fucking funny, if you ask me.I am being dressed up for my coronation. I will be the next Alpha King. Like I said, fucking funny if you asked me. Who knew killing Steven will earn me this title."You know you have to do this?" Of course, Hera knows best."You know I don't want to, besides I thought I was going to be punished for killing their King, not having them beg me to be their King?" But still, I am here.My mind travels back to the incident that led to this, how the elders were waiting for me after the Astrid war. I can still remember how they had dropped to their knees on seeing me, all muttering; "Your Majesty" There were four of them and that was three weeks ago. They had then told me that as the White Lycan, I was the rightful heir to the throne. I didn't want it, heck I was still fucking struggling as an Alpha, talk more of being the Alpha King, yet I could tell that it was something I had to do — after all, the

Time: A week after the war. ---- Peace. For the first time in months, I am waking up to an overwhelming sense of peace. Nothing matters anymore; nothing can bring me back. No death. No vengeance. Just peace. In this peaceful place, there is no fighting; there is no sorrow. In this calm world of peace, I feel complete. But there is one person that matters to me. This peacefulness cannot last forever.I sit up, careful not to disturb the peace around me. I stretch my arms out, feeling the muscles in my back and shoulders loosen.I look around, taking in my surroundings. It is a beautiful garden, surrounded by trees and flowers. The sun shines brightly, warming my skin.I look around, searching for the source of the warmth. It is coming from a large tree in the centre of the garden. It is tall, the trunk twisting gracefully as a large red leaf rests on top of its head.Slowly, I climb down the steps of the fountain I was lying in and walk towards the tree. My feet crunch

  • Alpha's Fae Mate   Chapter 49: The beginning of the end.

[Bellatrix:] Starkev's reaction is instant as he screams, "Guards!" He knew. He knew we will be here. "Now!" Trikan yells and I watch as Starkev's guards and Trikan's warriors meet in the middle, Trikan leading his troupe. My fists clench around my sword and I look at Alec. "Go to him Bella, this is your fight" His voice is steady but I hear the underlying fear and worry that he tries so hard to hide.I nod and run towards Starkev, Alec swinging his swords against the enemies as I push through the battleground. Finally, I get to Starkev's front, his guards are fighting with Trik's warriors so it's just him and I. I raise my sword and I can tell he is ready for it but I don't move an inch.Starkev turns slowly until he faces me, eyes filled with hatred and something else; desperation?"It seems you have a plan Bellatrix, why not give it up now. Surrender?" He taunts me. "You cannot win."I chuckle darkly, looking at the enemy who surrounds us. My people are being slaugh

  • Alpha's Fae Mate   Chapter 47 & 48: Escape

[Bellatrix:] It is midnight, I can see it from the little opening at the top of the walls. I need to get out of here. I glance at my brother who hasn't talked to me since his outburst earlier. He is asleep. I sigh. The ropes binding us are laced with dark magic. I know, because I have tried to loosen it out, but each it keeps sending jolts of painful electric bolts down my spine. I bit my lips in anger. This shouldn't be like this. This shouldn't fucking end like this. I shut my eyes, wishing that he was here.. Alec. "No proper training, and yet you call yourself the chosen" I jerk out of my train of thoughts and glance at my brother. "You were not sleeping" I state. He rolls his eyes, "Who sleeps in a situation like this?" I gulp, short of words. My brother is disappointed in me and I have no idea what to do, exept- "You speak like it was my choice, brother" I finally say, holding his icy stare. "Everyone has a choice, Bellatrix!" "Just like you had a choice when you decided

  • Alpha's Fae Mate   Chapter 46: Seven hours.

Operation save my mate from the Dark Fae Kingdom took a lot more planning than we thought and the time was ticking so fast. When we had finally come to a conclusion, an hour has passed. Six hours left."Hera, are we set?"Hera appears how of thin air, holding a book. "What's that?" "Just come with me" Coming with Hera meant her taking us to the pool of transition which was now unfreezed. I glance back at the pack house and it as silent as a graveyard, hopefully there won't be any attacks on my pack while I am away seeing that I am leaving Hera in charge.Hera places the book beside the bank of the pool, kneels and starts to chant incoherent magical words. She then brings out a knife and asks me to stretch my fingers, I do, and in flash she swipes the knife over my thumb, blood spills out and lands in the pool.I don't say anything as my thumb starts to heal. She knows what she is doing."What the hell!" Karen mutters from behind me. The pool starts to shake, and the water shoots

  • Alpha's Fae Mate   Chapter 45: Victory shortlived

I failed. I couldn't kill him. I got myself killed instead. So much for being the chosen. My head is not throbbing, everything seems at peace. Who am I kidding? If I open my eyes now, I will be alive, not dead like a part of me wished I was. There's no reason to pretend it won't happen again, but if I open my eyes now... I'm still here. And that means he lives, too, Starkev lives and my being alive puts me at his mercy and I hate it.My eyes flutter open and I groan at the pain that hits my abdomen when I tried to move. he had stabbed me with the rain dagger. The rain dagger that does not only maim a warrior, but allows control of one's willpower.Where I am is not obvious, although I am quite sure this is not astrid. Either ways I am in a cell of some sort. The light is dim, but I can see the faint outline of some shelves along the walls, and the bars on my right are made of steel. The ceiling above me is made from wood, and the walls seem sturdy, even though
