Axel's response was to bite down harder. I could hear bones cracking as his supernaturally strong jaws crushed through boot leather and into the vampire's ankle joint. When the creature finally threw him off, Axel took a chunk of flesh with him.

He hit the wall hard enough to crack the plaster. Any normal child would have been stunned or killed by the impact. Axel rolled to his feet immediately, spitting out vampire flesh and snarling through bloodied fangs.

"Kill the little fucking demon!" the first vampire shouted, his hand pressed to his torn throat.

They rushed him together, thinking their size advantage would end the fight quickly. They were wrong.

Axel moved like something that belonged in nightmares. Not bigger or stronger than he should be, but faster and more vicious than any child had a right to be. When vampire claws raked across his chest, opening gashes that should have dropped him, he barely flinched.

The wounds closed within seconds.

The change wasn't gradual. It was instantaneous and terrifying. His broken body convulsed as every muscle fiber rewrote itself. His gray eyes blazed crimson - not gold, but deep red that looked terrifyingly red like a demon. When he stood, he moved with predatory grace that made every pack member take another step back. This wasn't the controlled aggression they'd seen in training. This was something primal and utterly savage. Something that belonged in nightmares. Grimwald's confident expression faltered as he found himself face to face with something that had moved faster than his eyes could track. "What the hell-" Axel's supposedly broken arm functioned perfectly as he drove claws deep into Grimwald's stomach, twisting to cause maximum damage. When the alpha tried to pull away, Axel's other hand clamped around his throat with crushing force. "You threatened my sister," Axel said, his voice distorted by the transformation into something that barely sounded human. "You hurt

I watched their relationship progress through a series of memory fragments. Passionate encounters that left both of them bloodied and satisfied. Strategic discussions where Vera slowly gathered information about pack defenses and resources. Moments where she'd push him toward decisions that would benefit her family's interests rather than his own pack. The manipulation was subtle but constant. When Axel showed signs of independence, Vera would withhold affection until he came back to her. When he questioned her suggestions, she'd make him feel stupid for doubting her judgment. When he tried to put his pack's needs first, she'd accuse him of not really loving her. For months, he thought he'd found someone who truly understood him. Someone who wasn't afraid of what he could become. The truth was far more painful. I found the memory of their relationship's end in a bubble that pulsed with dark red light. Axel had discovered communications between Vera and her brother Lucien - detai

The moment our psychic contact connected, everything changed. Instead of just touching Axel's clawed hand through the cage bars, I felt myself being pulled into something far deeper than anything I'd ever experienced. My dreamwalk consciousness spiraled downward, dragging me away from the sterile government facility and into the chaotic landscape of Axel's suppressed mind. The transition felt like falling through shattered glass. Sharp edges of memory and emotion cut at my consciousness as I tumbled through darkness that wasn't really dark - more like the absence of coherent thought. When the spinning finally stopped, I found myself standing in what looked like a vast underground cavern filled with floating bubbles of light. Each bubble pulsed with different intensities, some glowing bright gold while others flickered dimly like dying stars. The air around me hummed with emotional energy so thick I could taste it. These were his memories, I realized with shock. Somehow my exhaus

I lay on Eden and Jace's bed, the familiar weight of exhaustion pressing down on me like a heavy blanket. The broken television from Blake's broadcast still flickered in my mind, but I pushed it away. I needed to find Axel. Nothing else mattered right now. Eden sat beside me, her hands positioned just above my temples as she maintained the shadow shield around us. The magical buffer helped mute some of the emotional noise from the pack, giving my overtaxed abilities space to function. "Remember," she said softly, "don't force it. Let the dreamwalk come naturally." I closed my eyes and tried to center myself despite bone-deep exhaustion. The mate bond connection to Axel felt distant and muted, but it was there. Somewhere in that thread of awareness lay the key to finding him. Jace stood guard by the door, his hand resting on the handle. "I'll make sure nobody disturbs you," he promised. Finally, blessedly, I felt the familiar tug as my consciousness began to separate from my body.

CallaThe broken television screen still flickered with static from Blake's broadcast, casting irregular shadows across the main hall. I sat on the concrete floor with my back against the cold wall, staring at nothing while the pack moved around me in quiet efficiency. My body felt really heavy, like when was the last time I'd actually slept without being interrupted by dreamwalks or some crises? Was it yesterday or two nights ago cuz I couldn't tell at this point, when I'd broken down in Axel's arms after my emotional abilities spiraled out of control in the shower. Even then, sleep had been restless and filled with nightmares, that damned dreamwalk. The dark circles under my eyes felt heavy, and my hands trembled slightly from exhaustion mixed with the constant low-grade emotional noise from everyone around me. Every pack member carried their own weight of grief and anger over Axel's capture, and all of it pressed against my consciousness like static on a radio that couldn't be turn
