As a puppet, Charlotte received that silver knife with a smile and broke the necklace around her neck obediently. She didn’t even spare a glance at Eric, aimed the weapon towards her neck and locked her gaze with Casper’s dubious one.

“Anything for you, Casper.”

With that, she slashed her neck, blood gushed out of her wound. An involuntary howl came out of Eric’s mouth. The grim darkness prevailed before his eyes; the weakness of their bond shattered his soul.

When he removed Melinda’s mark from his neck, he didn’t feel anything. But now a simple slash on their mark hurt like hell. He couldn’t even scream out his agony. Overwhelmed by helplessness, this torment was beyond his endurance level.

On the contrary, the smile on Charlotte’s face was pleasant like winter’s sun. She raised that blade again.

“It’s enough, Star.”

Casper hastily grasped the blade and threw it away.

“The removal of this mark will kill you. You are my beloved. I am not a heartless to hurt you like that.”
