RACHEAL'S POV
THE BALL
“Make it tighter!!!” Kora screamed. I didn’t see the need to snap her waist just so she could look curvy, but I obeyed.
It turned out that the important thing her parents had to tell me was that I would be escorting their daughter to London for a ball organized by the queen. I wasn’t going to attend but I was here to help Kora and her friends dress up as there is nothing they can do themselves. Damien didn’t die. He had kept his cowardly mouth shut. I was glad to be in London, just to avoid Damien for a few days.
“You look all right Kora, let’s go, otherwise we'll be late,” Jane said.
“I hate that we would be wearing a mask, I intend to sweep the Alpha off his feet with my beaut,” Sophie said, clearly in a land of her own.
I was glad when they hurled themselves out of the room, at least I’d have a little time to myself. But someone knocked on the door less than a minute after they left. Maybe they had forgotten something.
I opened the door to a frowning face.
“Why aren’t you dressed?” It was Davina, she was wearing a very beautiful purple dress and a silver mask but held a bag in her right hand.
“I do not have what to wear.” My perfect excuse.
Davina lifted the bag she was holding. “Which is why I brought the perfect gown for you. Raymond and I bought a gown for you.”
It turned out that the man who came to do business with Davina’s dad was her mate. The same man her father had planned to make her marry. It's a perfect coincidence. Davina had been on cloud nine ever since.
“I look like a banshee Davina; a ball is no place for me.”
I hate how people look at me just because I am not pretty. Although I had a picture of myself as a little girl that I got from my mother before she died and I looked so stunning, you would mistake me for a goddess. It made me question why I now looked this ugly but I believe if I was indeed the one in that picture, then something had gone wrong and I had the possibility of being beautiful again.
Davina dipped her hand into the bag and brought out a full golden mask, hers was half that showed her face. “That’s why it’s a masked ball. With these you wouldn’t have to worry about anyone looking at you, I have another idea, we would go in separately so Kora wouldn’t be able to guess either.”
That sounded like a good idea. “All right. Let’s go have some fun.”
In less than 20 minutes I was in the hall.
I smoothened the gown with my hand nervously. The gown fit me perfectly, it was green and I loved how it matched with my eyes, but I wasn’t sure I liked how everyone’s eyes were on me. Could they see my face? Has the mask slipped? What were they thinking?
I lifted my hand to feel my mask in place. “You can do this Rachel.” This was my chance to have a normal life just for one night.
A nicely built man walked up to me. “Good evening my lady.” He bowed.
I loved his accent. “Good evening sire.” I curtseyed, repaying his gesture.
Immediately, music began playing from the center of the hall where the orchestra played. “Can I have this dance?”
I didn’t know much about dancing, so I opened my mouth to decline but instead, a voice spoke behind me.
“The lady is taken.”
I heard his voice even before I saw his face, it was deep and rich, totally masculine. My first thought was what this wolf would sound when angry or when he roared, there was so much power and strength in that voice.
The man who had asked me to dance walked away without hesitation, he didn’t even disagree, maybe it was a rule here or something, but he seemed cowardly to me.
I turned only to face a chest covered in a coat and cravat. Dear Goddess, the man was tall.
I had to take a few steps backward to get a full view of him, but he covered the distance in a second and pulled me to the dance floor. “Dance with me.”
It wasn’t a question; he didn’t expect an answer.
For the first time in my life, I was in a ball, the arms of a man were wrapped around me and I was dancing. His scent clouded my senses.
Blue. His eyes were blue, a combination of the sky, the sea, and a garden of gypsophila, in them I could see a flicker of curiosity. yet his smell was so strong in my nostrils, the smell of trees and the forest. An earthy scent swirled around him.
There was something powerful, intoxicating about his scent. His mask didn’t let me get a good view of his face.
“I wasn’t taken,” I murmured the first words that came to my mind,
I expected him to ask what I meant but he understood. “You’re taken if I say you are.”
“Really? I don’t think you have such power over me.” There was something about him that gave me boldness. Maybe I was getting high on his scent because it was very unlike me to argue with anyone.
“I do.”
“You don’t.” I fired back.
I could hear a hint of disbelief in his voice. “You don’t know who I am?”
His face was covered, how would I know who he was?
“Where are you from? Who are you?” he asked.
“Don’t you think you’re asking too many questions? What if I choose not to answer?” I knew I was being stubborn unnecessarily.
He spinned me around till I had no choice but to put all my weight on him, trusting him to handle the next move. “People don’t defy me.”
He said the words with his eyes looking deep into mine. I lost myself in his gaze and found fire. With his arms totally around me and all my weight on him, I looked into his eyes and found my mate.
“MATE.”
The call was made simultaneously by both of us.
A woman everyone knew was the queen stopped in front of us. “Alpha Axel, you couldn’t be luckier.”
Wait! The man I had been dancing with who turned out to be my mate was the Alpha!
THE TRUTHALPHA AXEL'S POV.It was her elegance that caught my attention. How she held her hands together and walked into the hall like the world was under her feet. It was only a reflex to tell the young man who had gotten to her before I did to scram. No one would get her before I did.I knew I was taken when she defied my authority and questioned me back. It was a great surprise to see that there was someone here that didn’t know me.I should have guessed when I felt my wolf pull me to her, but looking into her eyes, I saw what I had been waiting for all my life.“MATE”I wanted to kiss her right there, but the queen interrupted us, reminding me we were surrounded by other people, her mask really wouldn’t have let me kiss her either.“Alpha Axel, you couldn’t be luckier.” She addressed my mate. “What’s your name dear?”I didn’t even know my Luna’s name. Her head remained bowed, I didn’t like it, I preferred it when she talked back at me.“Rachel.” She murmured. She had become a lam
RACHAEL'S POVAthena's eyes blazed with anger, having overheard our conversation about the moon goddess choosing a mate for Alpha Axel. Athena's presence was commanding, her fiery spirit evident in every step she took. The queen approached Athena, her gaze steady and unwavering. With a firm yet gentle touch, the queen held Athena's chin, forcing her to meet her eyes. "Athena, my dear, you must calm yourself," she said, her voice filled with a mix of authority and compassion. "Even if you won't be my daughter, you will always hold a special place in my heart."Athena's anger flickered, momentarily replaced by confusion and hurt. She looked into the queen's eyes, searching for answers, before finally relenting. "But why, Mother? Why have you chosen someone else?" she asked, her voice laced with vulnerability. The queen's grip on Athena's chin softened, and she placed a tender hand on her cheek. "My sweet Athena, the moon goddess's choice is not something we can control," she explained,
ALPHA AXEL'S POVThe sun was beginning to set as I approached the sleek black limousine parked outside the palace. The anticipation of the upcoming two weeks of intense training coursed through my veins, mixing with a tinge of nervousness. As I opened the door, the scent of leather and Athena's strong but sweet perfume enveloped me, and I stepped inside. Athena was already seated inside, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. Her eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief as she greeted me, "Well, well, look who finally decided to join the party. Ready for some action?"I chuckled, settling into the plush seat beside her. "Always. You know me, Athena."The door swung open once again, and Rachael hurriedly entered, her face flushed with embarrassment. "I am so sorry for being late," she panted, her voice filled with genuine remorse. "I got caught up with some unexpected events."Before I could assure her that it was alright, Athena's voice cut through the air, laced with a hint of disdai
The witches covenRACHEAL’S POVThe sun was rising as the three of us gathered in the dimly lit study of the elder's ancient house. The room was filled with the scent of old books and the crackling of the fireplace, casting dancing shadows on the walls. The elder, a wise and mysterious woman, stood before us, her eyes filled with a mix of determination and concern."Listen carefully, my young wolves," she began, her voice carrying a weight of knowledge and experience. "The fate of our world rests upon your shoulders. The artifacts you seek hold immense power, and it is up to you to retrieve them."She reached into a drawer and pulled out a small and old compass. Its golden needle pointed north, shimmering with an otherworldly glow. She handed it to me, and as I took it, a surge of energy coursed through my veins."This compass," she said, her voice filled with a hint of mystery, "will guide you to the locations of the three artifacts. It is a map, a key to unlocking their secrets. Tru

ALPHA AXEL'S POVAs I looked into Racheal's eyes, it held an allure that seemed to draw you into their depths, our faces were inches apart, our breaths mingling in the air. The connection between us had grown rapidly over the past couple of days, fueled by an undeniable attraction. My wolf, restless within him, longed for Rachel's touch.Just as our lips were about to meet, the door swung open with a force that startled them both. Athena burst into the room unannounced. Her eyes widened at the sight before her, a mix of surprise and annoyance etched across her face."Why can't you knock, Athena?" I snapped with my voice laced with irritation. "Privacy is a concept you should familiarize yourself with."Athena rolled her eyes, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, I'm sorry, Alpha Axel. I didn't realize I needed an engraved invitation to check up on you. Next time, maybe you should lock the door."I narrowed my eyes, my patience wearing thin. "I don't need you checking up on me, Athena.
Chapter 11RACHEAL'S POVI woke up drenched in sweat, my heart pounding in my chest. My usual nightmare leaving me disoriented and restless. I fumbled for my phone on the nightstand, squinting at the bright screen to check the time it was, just past midnight. With a sigh, I slipped on my robe and decided to seek solace on the rooftop of the hotel. I stood by the edge, gazing out at the city below. " Do you want to jump?" voice asked, interrupting the tranquility, causing me to startle and step away from the edge. I turned to see an old woman standing there, her eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and concern. She introduced herself as the Guardian of the Rogues, a title that piqued my interest and confusion. The old woman smiled knowingly. "I can smell it on you, child. The scent of a wolf. It's unmistakable. I sensed it from my room."My eyes widened in disbelief, "What you seek and long for," she said, her eyes piercing into mine, "is closer to you than you think."I looked at he
ALPHA AXEL'S POVAs Racheal, Athena and I stepped off the car in Kenya, the warm African air embraced us, carrying with it the scent of adventure and danger. We had traveled across continents, following the ancient compass that led us here, to this mysterious location. Our hearts raced with anticipation as we made our way through the dense jungle, the compass guiding our every step. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of trekking through the wild, we arrived at a clearing. The compass pointed directly at a group of figures huddled together, their eyes gleaming with a feral intensity. My heart sank as I realized we had stumbled upon a pack of werewolf rogues."Racheal, stay close," I whispered, my voice barely audible amidst the rustling leaves. She nodded, her eyes filled with determination and fear. We knew we had to retrieve the artifact, but it wouldn't come without a fight. The leader of the rogues, a towering beast with matted fur and piercing yellow eyes, stepped forward.
