Akira's POV

I was sent back to the dungeon by the same scary big man who had taken me away from there. He opened the door, pushed me inside and turned on his heels.

By the time I faced the girls, they were eating from a plate of food. I was surprised at the scene. With the way the Alpha hated me, I was sure he wouldn't mind us starving to death.

I slumped against the wall as new hot tears bolted down my face. I clutched my chest tightly from the pain I felt when I rejected my mate. A part of me was thankful he didn't accept the rejection while the other part of me was scared for when he would accept the rejection.

"You should eat," The older girl suggested, pushing a plate to me. I shook my head.

"No, thank you," I eyed the food and pushed it away.

"If you're scared it's poisoned, it is not. We already ate it and if it's poisoned, we should be dead by now,"

My eyes went wide at her words and I clamped my lips together.

To be honest, I was a bit scared that the food was poisoned but at the same time, I lacked the strength to eat.

"I don't feel like eating,"

She nodded. "I get it. I understand. The first day I entered your father's pack, I couldn't eat as well and trust me, I'd seen worse than this but I soon realised that I needed to eat to gain strength to face the world and move on. Eat first, you'll fix your life later,"

The little girl held my hand and looked at me pitifully. I collected the plate of food from her and took a spoon.

"Why did you follow me?" I asked them both.

"I'd rather stay with you than go with the rest,"

"I'm not an Alpha's daughter anymore. I can't help you both," I argued.

"You never helped us before, did you? You were always in your world not giving a damn about us. Did we even exist in your perfect little world?" She spat with hatred.

"Then, why are you here? If you hate me so much, you should've gone with the others,"

She glared at me. "Because I know you wouldn't hurt me. Fine, you didn't help us when we were being punished but you didn't have the heart to hurt us either. I came with you because that's the only way to feel safe,"

"Me too," the little girl added.

I took a deep breath and sat on the floor.

"My name is Akira, I'm eighteen. What are yours?"

"I'm Briella, 11," the little girl answered with a weak smile. I'm not sure how she's taking all that had happened tonight. As an adult, I'm pretty shaken.

"I'm Lisa, 18 too," she also took a seat.

After I was done eating, I took a deep breath and gathered the plate together with the one that Briella and Lisa used. I placed them close to the door.

"I bet you've never heard of this pack, Akira,"

Lisa suddenly spoke.

"No! I only know of my dad's friends who are also Alpha,"

"Those pathetic old fools. Worst enemies to human or wolves,"

At the sound of her words, I could point out the sadness and pain between them. That was when it occurred to me that I'd missed out the fact that Lisa and Briella were humans.

Growing up I always wondered why my father's house was full of humans, especially girls. A few months ago, I got the answer to that question and I'm still in disbelief.

"His name is Alpha Hunter,"

I turned my head to Lisa. "What?"

"The Alpha of this pack, his name is Hunter,"

Hunter! I repeated the name in my head and it sounded perfect.

"Do you want to know how he took over this pack?"

I shouldn't be interested in Hunter or anything related to him. I don't know what he meant by Operation Sweep but I hope it ends sooner and he's able to accept my rejection.

"He stabbed his father to death," she announced. My heart beat rapidly against my throat and my mouth suddenly dried up.

"He did?"

"Stabbed him to death right in front of his people and they love him for not being a coward. I'm sorry to say this but I also love him for killing your father,"

We both stared at each other for a few minutes. When I managed to look away, I realised the little girl, Briella, was asleep.

"You hated him," I asked rhetorically.

"Everyone did except you and your mother. He did unspeakable things. He hated humans just as much as we hated him. Your father was a demon,"

I shook my head, still in disbelief.

"I don't know what to believe anymore,"

"Just know that, no one would hurt your father if he had lived as a good person,"

I turned my head away from her. I was done listening to reasons to justify my father's death. I closed my eyes softly. I was done crying.

For the next few hours left for the day, I struggled to sleep.

Each time I closed my eyes, I was drawn to the misery of my parent's death and I jerked awake. My eyes became swollen with tears but I quickly cleaned it up before they could drop.

The light shone into the room by morning and still, sleep eluded me. I couldn't sleep a wink all night. Lisa and Briella soon woke up but none of us said anything.

We heard heavy footsteps coming closer to us. A woman was carrying a tray of food and right behind her was Alpha Hunter. Our eyes met for a few seconds and I looked away.

"Glad to see y'all made it through the night,"

I scoffed at his words.

"Come here," he commanded. It was firm but soft.

My eyes shifted to him and his finger was pointed at me.

"You have visitors," he announced.

"What?"

"Some of your father's pathetic old friends are here for you," I immediately stood up at the good news and walked out of the cell.

"What about them?" I asked him about Lisa and Briella.

I could see the ray of hope right in front of me. If my father's friends were here for me, I wouldn't leave those two behind.

"What gave you the notion that you would be leaving with those old bastards? You're coming back here" He answered.

I bit down on my bottom lips and my palm twisted into a fist.

"Remember our agreement, you better act like I'm dessert when you get there or else…"

His eyes dropped to my bottom lip and I quickly removed it from between my teeth. His eyes lingered on a spot of my lip before he stared at me in the eyes and began walking away.

"Or else…" I asked, hoping he would finish his words.

"Or else the little one gets to pay for it with her life. Isn't that fantastic?"

  • Alpha's Mission: Bound by Fate   Chapter 181

Akira’s POVI stood by the window of my room, dressed in my wedding gown; something I had once thought I might never wear. The white fabric felt cool against my skin, flowing down to the floor in elegant waves. The sun outside was setting, forming warm golden hues over the trees and hills. It was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony Hunter and I had decided on— a wedding in the heart of the estate, surrounded by our pack.I couldn’t stop smiling. The happiness that had been radiating from me since the moment Hunter proposed refused to fade. Everything felt… right. The pack was thriving, and after months of challenges and uncertainty, the members now looked at me as their Luna. When did that happen? Was it when I stood up to Jackson’s men and rescued the kidnapped school children? Or was it the day I killed Jackson myself, ending his trafficking business? Maybe it was when August confessed to the crimes I had been wrongfully accused of. I wasn’t sure exactly when the shift occurred

  • Alpha's Mission: Bound by Fate   Chapter 180

Hunter’s POVThe flower room was where I always found Akira when she needed a different kind of solace. It was her sanctuary— and, over time, it became mine too. The scent of roses, in full bloom, mixed with the faint traces of her unique floral aroma. This room was more than just a collection of beautiful flowers; it held the memories of us. We had laughed here, fought here, and even shared our most intimate moments. It was the one place where we could be ourselves without interruptions from pack members, guards, or the chaos of leadership. With two glasses of blood wine in my hands, I entered the room, a smile tugging at my lips. Akira was seated on the wooden bench surrounded by cascading vines of red and pink roses. Her eyes were closed as she took in a deep breath of the fragrant air, a small, contented smile curving her lips.I leaned against the doorframe for a moment, just watching her; my mate. How did I get so lucky to have someone like her?“Enjoying yourself?” I teased, s

  • Alpha's Mission: Bound by Fate   Chapter 179

Akira’s POVHunter and I prepared for the council meeting even though the atmosphere was tensed. It was the first time in years that he and the Council of Older Alphas were in agreement over anything. For once, the council wasn’t against us, and this time, the stakes were higher than ever. They had come to us in desperation, pleading for help to stop Alpha Lupin—my father. According to them, Lupin had grown more dangerous, killing four older alphas who dared to stand against him. They called him a tyrant, a rogue disguised as a leader, but I didn’t need their words to convince me.I had seen it with my own eyes. The memory of my father’s hands around my throat, squeezing the life out of me, still haunted my dreams. The man I had once admired as a little girl had turned into a monster, and now, the entire werewolf community feared him.Hunter, however, was hesitant to get involved. When the council approached us, their desperation clear, Hunter had outright refused. "These are the sa

  • Alpha's Mission: Bound by Fate   Chapter 178

Akira’s POVThe morning light filtered through my bedroom window as I stared at the message on my phone for the seventh time that day.“Hello baby girl, it’s Dad. Can you please come home? I miss you and wish to see you. Love, Dad.”I sighed, the words blurring as I read them again. It wasn’t the first message I had received from him, but it was the first one I seriously considered answering. The last time I saw my father— alive and breathing— I had frozen in fear. The café where we had met had felt like a dream, a surreal encounter with a ghost from my past.Hunter’s words echoed in my mind from the other night under the oak tree. At least he’s alive. That should bring you peace. Was it peace? I didn’t know anymore. I was glad I hadn’t pulled the trigger that night, but knowing what my father had done, maybe I should have. The lives he ruined, the people he hurt— those memories haunted me. But I wasn’t the one to pass judgment on his life.Still, I had questions. I needed answers— no

  • Alpha's Mission: Bound by Fate   Chapter 177

Hunter’s POVThe cool evening breeze brushed against my face as I stood in the middle of the memorial grounds. The air was heavy with the scent of damp earth and pine, mingling with the subtle hint of tension that seemed to pulse from the men standing behind me. They were all here— every pack member I could summon at a moment’s notice. They were confused, of course.Meetings like this were typically held in the hall, not out here among the graves of our fallen brothers and sisters. Some assumed I had gathered them here to honor those we’d lost, but that wasn’t the reason. My eyes scanned the quiet land that has the ashes of each one of the pack member remembering the lives we’d buried. Here was a reminder of the failures that had led us here. But tonight wasn’t about mourning. It was about justice. It had been over an hour since I sent word for August to meet us, and, as usual, he was late. I gritted my teeth. He always made a show of being unreachable, of having something more imp

  • Alpha's Mission: Bound by Fate   Chapter 176

Hunter’s POVThe night was calm, with a gentle breeze rustling the leaves of the old oak tree under which Akira often sat. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silver glow over the pack's territory. The chilly air was soothing, but I doubted it could ease the storm inside me.I hadn’t found Akira in our room earlier, but I knew where she’d be. The oak tree had always been her refuge— a place where she could think. As I walked toward it, my mind replayed the shocking revelations Adolf had shared.I knew tonight’s conversation would be heavy, and I hoped the peaceful night would soften the blow. When I reached the tree, there she was, sitting on the swing attached to one of its sturdy branches. Her dark hair swayed in the breeze, and her hands rested limply on her lap. She was lost in thought, so much so that she didn’t even notice me approach.I stepped closer and sat beside her, the creak of the wooden swing breaking the silence. I turned to look at her, and my chest tensed. Her fa
