Jaxon

Ronan and I had spent the better part of the week poring over details, scrolls, anything that even hinted at a way to undo the curse tying Elvira and me to something darker than the bond itself. The truth had come in riddles, all of them pointing to one dangerous solution: Blood Moon Magic.

And there was only one kind of witch who could wield it. One that was located somewhere at the end of the City.

So that’s how I ended up in the deepest part of Halden’s forgotten district, standing in front of a building that looked like it had been cursed just for existing. The place was practically flirting with grass, cracked stone steps, vines clawing up broken windows, and a smell like damp parchment.

I stepped inside, boots hitting the floor as I walked towards the entrance. I barely got two steps in before someone slammed into me, hard.

“Holy Moon!” I growled, stumbling back as my head collided with theirs. “Can’t you watch where you’re going?”

The stranger stumbled too, groaning

Elvira The morning sun filtered lazily through the cream-colored curtains, casting pale golden streaks over my bed. I stretched like a cat, back arching, the sheets slipping from my legs as I rolled onto my stomach. I was grinning before I even opened my eyes. A new week. And next week…My official makeup training started. I still couldn’t believe it. Jaxon had not only paid for the full course but insisted on enrolling me under a prestigious master artist whose schedule was already stacked for months. He didn’t just pull strings, he rewrote them. I squealed into my pillow, grinning like a maniac, before flipping onto my back. “This is really happening,” I whispered to no one. And then, like an uninvited ghost, the thought drifted in. The cursed bond. The happiness in my chest wilted just a little. Jaxon told me, insisted, that it wasn’t my fault. That what bound us, what poisoned the edges of what we were slowly becoming, had nothing to do with me. But… wasn’t it? My powers h

Deric The worst part wasn’t that Ava was crying. It was the way she looked at me, like I was already dead. Her fingers clutched the front of my shirt like she was holding onto the last strand of sanity she had left. “Please don’t do this,” she whispered, her voice cracking. “You don’t have to go. You don’t owe him anything, Deric.” But I did. Not to her father, but to her. Because if stepping into hell meant she stayed safe on the other side, then so be it. “I’ll be fine.” I brushed her cheek with my thumb, memorizing the warmth of her skin, the subtle tremble of her jaw. “This is the only way I can protect you.” Ava’s lips quivered. “What if he finds out what you are? What if he—” “I’ll make sure he doesn’t,” I cut in gently, though my stomach was churning. “I’m not going in there with claws bared. I’m going as a man. Just a man.” “But you’re not just a man, Deric,” she said. “You’re a werewolf. And, you’re my boyfriend . And you’re walking into a nest of monsters that hunt yo

Jaxon I had a hundred tabs open, figuratively and literally. My phone buzzed with unread messages, my calendar was double-booked, and the board members wanted updates I didn’t have. But none of that managed to distract me from the one thing disturbing my focus: the fashion proposal I’d sent out three weeks ago to the biggest fashion brand in the country, NyxThread Corporation. Founded and run by the elusive Lucian Ward. Ever since Bloodmoon intrusion into my company, some of the investors that made my fashion company a success, withdrawed affecting my initial investment for the company. NyxThread wasn’t just any brand. NyxThread defined luxury. Their designs walked every major runway, their commercials aired during the Super Bowl, and their influence reached even Bloodmoon royalty. So, when I sent my collaboration request from Dawn & Dagger, I didn’t even bother hoping, but I’didnt stop sending. Every other time I’d tried, the answer had been a robotic response “Not at this time.”

Jaxon The light through my window looked gentler than usual. As if the world had decided to lower its voice, knowing I hadn’t slept much. Not from work, not even from stress. Not from Elvira either! What the hell kind of bond hurt the person it was meant to protect? I closed the drawer that held the velvet box I’d been hiding for three weeks, the enrollment token. It was time, no more waiting. Maybe this surprise could cheer her up, help us both pretend, even if just for a while, that the world wasn’t spinning off its axis. The makeup training, hell, it wasn’t just about cheering her up anymore. It was about reminding her that she’s still Elvira. The girl who loved color palettes and lip liners and laughed when blush was the wrong shade. The girl I fell in love with, am still falling for, over and over, even when it hurts. I made the call. The driver pulled around the car. “Bring it around front,” I muttered. “And tell Valeria we’re coming.” … Elvira was curled on the corner

ElyraWhen my phone buzzed with a message from Mother, I already knew it wasn’t a request, it was a summon.“Come to the house. Now.” That was all it said.No hello, no reason. Just her usual command wrapped in cold words.I should’ve ignored it. I should’ve turned my phone off and disappeared into the city like I used to dream about as a kid.……The marble floors of the estate echoed with every step I took. The high chandeliers overhead sparkled like icicles, untouched and untouchable, just like everything else in this house. This place wasn’t a home, it was more like a shrine to me.I rounded the corner, heading toward Mother’s study, only to halt abruptly when Elijah and Eric stepped into my path. Both of them wore the same expression: superiority carved into every angle of their faces. Elijah leaned against the wall like he owned it, arms crossed, an arrogant tilt to his mouth. Eric, taller and broader, stood squarely in front of me, blocking my path entirely.“Where have you been

Deric I stood in front of the full-length mirror, adjusting my black tie for the third damn time. My fingers fumbled at the knot again like I was some awkward teenager going to prom. My eyes caught my own reflection, taut jaw, furrowed brow, that twitch in my left eye that only ever surfaced when I was either furious or deeply anxious. Today, I wasn’t sure which. Behind me, I saw her in the reflection, Ava. Her arms slid around my waist, her touch easing the tension in my shoulders just enough to breathe. She rested her cheek against my back and looked at me through the mirror, her eyes soft but perceptive. “You’re nervous, baby,” she whispered, voice light but steady. Hell yeah, I was. “Yeah,” I muttered, adjusting the tie once more. “Can’t help it.” She spun me around to face her. Her blue eyes, the kind that always looked like they could cradle you all at once, bore into mine. She had on a pale peach dress that hugged her in all the right ways, her hair twisted up with strand

Jaxon The intel came in just past dawn. I was in the training yard, shirt soaked with sweat, fists wrapped in leather. Talon stood at the edge of the ring, arms folded, his expression unreadable. He didn’t say anything until I threw the final punch, letting the punching bag swing wildly like it had a grudge against me. “My instincts was right,” he said flatly. “Bloodmoon really planted a spy.” I stilled, my chest heaving, my heartbeat louder than his words. “Who?” I asked, unwrapping my hands slowly, like I needed something physical to focus on. “A name.” He hesitated, just enough for it to itch beneath my skin. “I don’t have one yet.” His eyes moved. “I don’t want to jump to conclusions without evidence.” I sighed. At this point, I don’t even want to hear anything about spies and intels, if I can’t find them. It almost looked like imaginary spies that don’t exist, because how come there is never a name? But Talon wasn’t the type to waste my time with guesswork. If he was sa

Elvira I didn’t know how long I’d been sitting in the bath, water long gone cold. My fingers were wrinkled, my skin pale, but I hadn’t moved. I couldn’t. Every time I closed my eyes, I felt his hands again, Jaxon’s, burning and soft all at once. The way he had looked at me, when I screamed. That moment, that kiss, the heat crawling through my veins… until it turned to fire. Painful, soul-ripping fire. The bond flared like it wanted to kill me. My scream still rang in my ears. I curled my knees to my chest and gritted my teeth. What’s happening? Something was wrong with our bond, and it wasn’t just the usual mating confusion. This seems darker. I could still feel his hand trembling as he pulled away from me last night, the haunted look in his eyes as I collapsed against him, crying in confusion and pain. A soft knock startled me. “Elvira?” Brielle’s voice came through the door. “You’ve been in there forever. Are you okay?” “Yeah. Just give me a second,” I croaked. I dried off q
