Chapter 7

DOMINIC’s POV.

The car finally stops in front of the shoe store, her eyes are still closed and she doesn’t look like she is going to open them soon. She looks tired and that’s the least thing I care about right now. She can be tired all she wants, she is here to work for me and not rest all the time.

It took the will of the moon goddess for me not to smash Christian’s head into the washbasin back at the club. Everyone knows I hate when someone touches what belongs to me, especially a woman who owes me for the rest of her life. Even Sebastian, I badly wanted to break his jaw but this woman beside me, she was actually smiling at him. Once again, her danger level has increased but that didn’t stop me from noticing the pain in her eyes from the shoes. Did she not wear any shoes in her life? Her father kept her sheltered all her life, so pathetic. If she is going to work for me, she has to be in good shape…good radiance.

“Come down” I tell her and she opens her eyes, her eyes scrutinizing the entire area and I see her forehead curve into a frown. She finally settles her gaze on me and her lips tilt up in a questionable manner.

“Get down” I tell her again before the cat door opens up and I climb out.The store manager bows as soon as he sees me.

“Mr changretta, it is a pleasure to have you in our store” he says.

By now, Greece is standing beside me, her gaze lingering everywhere else but me.

“We have prepared everything you asked for, sir” the manager further adds.

“Let's make it fast then”

Without waiting for his response, I make my way into the store and the rest of them follow.

In no time, different kinds of comfortable shoes are brought before her and once again, she looks surprised. Greece abruptly turns her head towards me, a question on the tip of her mouth.

“If you are going to work for me, I need you to be without any blemish, so make a pick, we don’t have all day”

I look at my watch, I have a conference call In two hours and I need to be home soon for that.

Dragging her attention from me, Greece picks up the first shoes that she sees. A white pair of canvas, it looks beautiful but too simple.

“Another one” I suggest but she shakes her head, a gesture of refusal. Why the heck does she not speak? This is getting infuriating at this point. But she remains adamant, not making an attempt to even drop it.

“Change into it then” I finally tell her, I am clearly not in the mood to get more upset than I already am. I watch as she frees her legs from the hells and lets out a sigh of relief before stepping into the canvas. It looks good on her, surprisingly.

“Bring everything you have in her size” I tell the store manager, “and have them sent to the changretta mansion”

“Of course sir, we will get right to it”

“Good”

Pulling out my black card, I hand it to him and in a few minutes, we are out of the store on our way home. She doesn’t look like she is in pain again, her looks are more relaxed even though I am still irritated by her presence. I decided to get some work done during the duration of the car ride to the house. The moment the car pulls up in front of the Changretta mansion, she hurriedly alights and makes her way into the house.

I can’t help but scoff, does she think I was to be in the same place with her? I hated the way all the men at the club were ogling her. Bastian even offered to buy her off from me. I would have punched him in the guts but I let it be. The deal I had with him is something that would cause a lot of mayhem in the country if it is called off so I let him wag his tongue like a dog. The goddess helps him, he looks at her sleazily again. I would chop his head off.

As soon as I step into the house, my countenance changes when I see her and Fernando signing to each other and she has a smile on her face.

“Hey man” his lips tilt up, “I didn’t expect you back so soon” he further adds as I roll my eyes to the back of my head.

“Greece was just telling me about the party”

“Why didn’t you come if you were that interested?”

“Of course not, I have more important things to do with my time”

“Then quit asking stupid questions” I look over at her, now the smile on her face has disappeared, “or making her tired, she has a lot of work to do for me in the coming days”

Her head whips towards me but she doesn’t say anything, she can’t even dare.

“Come with me, I have to discuss something with you” I tell Fernando and without any other word, I make my way towards the In house elevator. I need to take a shower to remove everything that happened tonight out of my head. Tomorrow the deal with Bastian will kick off, I need to fully commit to it.

As soon as I step Into the shower and the water starts flowing down my body, my mind drifts to a certain someone. First off, how could her parents name her after a country? There are more than a million names to pick from and what was that? She was actually smiling with Sabastian? That fucker has never made me laugh with his lame jokes. Well, I can’t blame her. She was sheltered all her life and doesn’t know the dynamics of the world.

“You are thinking about her way too much, Masnada” my wolf tells me, “I guess she is a strong one”

“Keep quiet!” I growl in anger, shutting his voice out of my head. The only reason why she is occupying my thoughts is because I need to find a way for her to fully pay my debt, she is a whole lot and the sooner I get rid of her, the better.

Fernando is already seated in my study by the time I enter, a glass of my finest Italian scotch and a smug smile on his face.

“I thought you forgot about me, Dominic”

“Get your legs off my table” I grit out before lowering myself on my reclining chair, pulling a document out of my drawer. I watch him as he gulps down the content of the glass before turning his full attention to me.

“Tell me” Fernando’s voice becomes more serious, “what did you want to talk to me about”

I push the document towards him and he picks it up before pulling the papers out of it.

“The deal with Sebastian has already been finalized. We only need to meet with the vicar of the church to acquire the land”

“That man clearly said he will not be giving out the land, Dominic. My men and I met him, he is still adamant”

Without saying anything again, I pull out another document and hand it over to him and as soon as he sees the content, a mocking smirk appears on his lips.

“Wow!! Stronzo!” Fernando spits out, anger evident on his face, “he claims to be a religious man and yet he is fucking these women. I didn’t know you had such evidence against him”

“I didn’t plan to” I answer, leaning back against my chair, “but that bastard has remained adamant. I can only result to such tactics. He won’t hesitate to give up the land when he realises the amount of dirt we have on him. People like him should not even be left alive”

That land, that is the land I want to build the biggest warehouse under our family name and I actually met that vicar one on one to make an appeal, I even offered to pay double the price but he refused. Now he has to part with it in order to save face and I am all for the drama.

“The goods will start coming in exactly a month, the warehouse needs to be ready before then”

“Hmmm, I and my men will get right to it”

After that, he stands up and makes to leave but my next words halt him.

“Take Greece with you”

His face immediately changes, a small frown on his forehead.

“Why?”

“Yes, the vicar is a lustful bastard. If she is the one who hands him the evidence, I am sure he will shit his pants”

Fernando’s lips finally curl up and how I want to punch him in the gut, I clearly know what this bastard is thinking.

“So you were serious about involving her in our business?”

“She needs to pay for her father owed, it is purely business”

“Okay, I will take her along with me then”

“Good, now get your ass out of my office”

He is my twin brother but technically he leaves all the work for me and I am not complaining. After our parents death, I vowed to take care of him so I don’t care even if we are the same age, he is still my only family and I will watch the world burn for him. Well, this is only known to me and me alone.

“Good night man”

I don’t bother to answer him, goodnights are for ladies and not me.

After he closes the door behind him, I pick up the file on Greece again. She looks frail but she is quite skilled. She is good with her weapons, guns, daggers and even swords. I guess her father did not fully let her be a waste. He was training her to become the alpha of her pack even though she is a woman. She had a brother but it seems he didn’t live up to expectations and he wanted his daughter to become the heir. Too bad, all of them are dead and she will become the biggest chess piece on my chessboard.

Picking up my phone again, I dial Atlas’s number and he answers immediately.

“Padrino”

“Send one of our men disguised as an assassin to Greece’s room, his aim is to scare her as much as possible. I want to know how much she can defend herself”

“Right away boss”

Dropping the call, the side of my lips tilt up. Let’s see how much that asshole prepared his mute daughter.
