Gideon’s POV

A girl’s voice came from the bed, soft and a little needy. “Why can’t I spend the night here with you, babe?”

I rolled my eyes and pushed off the covers. “You know nobody sleeps with me, so stop asking stupid questions, Jennifer.”

She laughed and corrected me. “It is Olivia.”

The sound was ridiculous coming from someone who had been under me a few minutes earlier, moaning like she owned the damn mattress. I did not say anything. I stood up and walked to my dresser.

“Now get out of here,” I said. “I have to get ready for a meeting.”

She tossed me a, “Fuck you, Gideon,” then grabbed her things and stormed out, slamming the door hard enough to rattle the windows. I should have been angrier, but there were bigger problems today than some disrespectful woman. I told myself I could handle a door slam.

I took a cold shower because hot water made me think too much. I would have loved to go back to bed and sleep, but I could not. Being the Alpha of Darkfang was not a job that let you rest. We were the biggest pack on the continent and the responsibility never shut off. I was born to lead, but it did not mean I liked the weight.

Everything would be easier if Silvercrest did not exist. Harrison Taylor and his pack were a thorn at my side. I should kill them all and still consider it mercy, I thought. The feud ran generations deep. My father tried to keep the peace and failed because Hugo Taylor had been stubborn and proud. He thought himself untouchable until he was killed like the rat he was. Harrison learned nothing from his father but arrogance. He sent patrols close to my borders like he was testing me. He did not know that I was not my father’s shadow. I will not tolerate his games forever.

Clean and dressed, I walked the five minutes to my office. Billy, my Beta, was already there waiting when I arrived. He looked like he enjoyed showing up early just to needle me.

“You look relaxed,” he said, grinning. “Did you have fun?”

I sat in my chair and ignored his jabs. “So tell me, what is new?”

He folded his arms and leaned forward. “I smelled some of Silvercrest’s warriors today along the northern edge of our territory. They did not cross, but they came close.”

My patience snapped. “I am done with Harrison and his ridiculous pack. If it were not for the innocent people who would die, I would have started this war long ago.”

Billy shrugged like he was naming the weather. “You cannot blame the wolves for having a piece of shit alpha,” he said. “Harrison made them into what they are.”

“Maybe you should talk to the council of werewolves,” Billy said, watching me like he expected me to bite his head off for the suggestion.

I cut him off before he could finish. “You should know better than to say that name in my presence,” I said. The council were a group of old wolves who liked to pretend they were the law, but in truth they were a pack of useless cowards. When my family was killed by vampires they told me that this was life and that there was nothing to be done. They stopped me from seeking revenge when I needed it most. My patience with them was running out, and one day I would make them pay for not helping me when I needed it.

Billy tried to apologize and then added that maybe I should organize a meeting, but I was no longer listening. A chill crawled down my spine and something in the air told me there was an intruder. I could feel it like a prickle across my skin. I left the room without another word and went out into the storm.

The rain soaked through my clothes and flattened my hair. I moved fast through the pack compound, checking the perimeter, sniffing the wind in a useless attempt to find the scent that had teased the edge of my awareness. Nothing made sense. The intruder had no clear scent and the tracks were confusing like someone had tried to hide them. What the hell was going on, I thought.

I stopped and stripped off my shirt. The cold hit my skin and made me sharper. I shifted then, letting my body change into the wolf that had kept my family safe and had kept me alive through the worst nights. His name was Kairo. He had white fur and eyes like winter ice.

He led me into the woods, trusting his hearing since my nose could not pull a scent from the wet air. The forest was a map of sound. Kairo’s ears picked up a faint rustle on the northern edge of our land, close to the boundary with Silvercrest.

We ran toward that sound. The closer we got the more my skin tightened. Then we found her.

She stood in a small clearing, black fur matted and slick with rain and mud. She looked lost and small against the trees, but the strangest thing was that I could not smell her. It was like the world had been hollowed out of scent around her. When our eyes met, the ground under me seemed to shift and my heart hit my ribs like a hammer.

I had no name for the sudden wrecking inside me. Kairo growled low and slow. The wolf in me knew something my mouth did not yet understand.

Bella’s POV

We fucked up, Bella, Nyra whispered, and for the first time, I heard fear in her voice. That’s the alpha of the Darkfang pack. Everyone knows his brutality. No one steps on his territory and comes out alive. We won’t be an exception.

The white wolf taunted us with his stance, daring us to move, and panic took over. Nyra spun and ran, her paws slamming against the wet earth. Branches whipped past as we fled blindly through the forest, chased by the shadow of the wolf that could kill us at any moment.

The sound of crashing water grew louder, the air misting with spray, until the trees broke open and I saw a waterfall roaring in front of us. Nyra hesitated, growling in panic, but I made the choice for both of us. If we kept running, the Darkfang Alpha would catch us. If we jumped, maybe the water would hide us, maybe it would kill us, but at least it would be my choice.

  • Alpha’s Obsession   He’s Awake

Bella’s POVWhen I reached the pack house, I was already sobbing so hard that I could barely see where I was going. My legs felt weak beneath me, and every breath came out broken and uneven, as if my body had forgotten how to function properly after everything that had happened tonight.Ronald spotted me the moment I stepped into the yard.He rushed toward me without hesitation, his expression turning alarmed the second he saw my face. Before I could even try to speak, my knees gave out beneath me, and I felt the ground rush up too fast.He caught me before I could fall.“Bella, what is going on?” he asked, his voice tight with worry as he lifted me from the ground as if I weighed nothing at all.I did not have the strength to protest. My body felt heavy and useless, like all the energy had drained out of me. I let him carry me inside, my head falling weakly against his shoulder while my tears soaked into his shirt. He carried me straight to my room and laid me carefully on the bed. T

  • Alpha’s Obsession   She Ran

Gideon’s POVI could not believe Bella had run away, leaving me alone in that room with the bloodsucker. The moment she disappeared through the broken doorway, anger and disbelief twisted inside my chest, making it harder to focus on the fight in front of me.Marcus did not give me time to think. He came at me again with terrifying speed, his fangs flashing as he aimed straight for my throat. I barely managed to block him, grabbing hold of his neck with both hands and jerking his head back before his teeth could sink into my skin. His strength shocked me. This vampire was unlike any opponent I had faced before. For the first time in my life, I found myself fighting someone I was not completely sure I could defeat. Before I could press my advantage, the sound of pounding footsteps echoed down the corridor.A group of vampires rushed into the room, their movements fast and coordinated as they spread out around us. The sight of them made my stomach tighten.“Fuck,” I muttered under my br

  • Alpha’s Obsession   I Know Who I Am

Bella’s POVMarco’s hand slid around the back of my neck, firm but controlled, and he pulled my mouth toward his before I could react. His lower lip brushed mine, and the closeness made my heart pound wildly in my chest.“I thought I was about to kiss you,” he murmured, his voice low and satisfied. “It turns out a little trickery is all it takes for you to be completely under my control.”His words sent a faint tremor through my body. I hated the way they made me feel trapped inside myself, aware of everything but unable to move freely. I remained motionless, like a puppet whose strings were held too tightly, my gaze locked onto him with an unnatural sense of fascination that I could not shake. He lifted his hand and gently touched my lips, keeping his face dangerously close to mine. The distance between us felt suffocating, thick with tension that made it harder to think clearly.“Time to release your vampire side, Bella.”“What?” I forced the word out, though my voice sounded weak a

  • Alpha’s Obsession   Who Am I Really?!

Bella’s POVWe walked through the entire VIP section until we reached a door at the end of a long corridor. The music from the club faded into a dull thump behind us as Marcus opened the door and stepped aside, gesturing for me to go in first.I walked in cautiously, and the moment my eyes adjusted to the dim lighting, I gasped. There was a bed in the middle of the room. The sight of it made my stomach tighten with unease.Marcus closed the door behind him with a quiet click.“Don’t worry, Bella,” he said calmly. “We’re here just to talk.”He walked straight to a small bar set against the wall and poured himself a drink as if he owned the place.“Are you thirsty?” he asked, offering me a glass of wine.“Well, no, thanks,” I replied coldly. “I don’t accept drinks from strangers.”He chuckled softly at my response and drank the wine himself, emptying half the glass in one swallow.“If you’re not going to start talking,” I said firmly, “then I’m going to leave.”He sat down on the bed an

  • Alpha’s Obsession    Follow Me

Bella’s POV“So, it was you?” I asked, my voice steady even though my heart pounded against my ribs.He smiled slowly, as if my recognition pleased him.“I’m glad our brief meeting is still in your memory,” he said in a dangerously sweet voice. At his words, the memory returned clearly. I remembered bumping into him one night at the club, the strange tension that had filled the air between us. He had looked like he wanted to say something back then, but before he could speak, Gideon had appeared, and this stranger had disappeared without a trace.“What are you thinking, beautiful?” he asked, lifting his hand as if to stroke my cheek.I stopped his wrist before his fingers could touch my skin.“Well,” I said coldly, holding his gaze, “what’s your game? Why are you doing this?”He chuckled, and the sound sent a chill through my body. He was as beautiful as he was dangerous, and there was no denying it. The way he looked at me made my skin prickle. There was hunger in his eyes, the kind

  • Alpha’s Obsession   The Man Behind The Blood

Bella’s POVWhen I got to the pack house, I found Elizabeth sitting in the back garden with a sandwich in her hands. The late afternoon sun cast a soft golden light over the grass, but there was nothing warm about the scene in front of me.Ronald stood a few steps away from her, keeping his distance as if he already knew how this was going to go.“Elizabeth,” I called, walking toward her.She did not react. She just sat there, staring straight ahead, slowly chewing her sandwich like nothing around her existed.A cold feeling settled in my chest.I moved closer and dropped to my knees in front of her, trying to catch her attention.“Elizabeth, are you okay?” I asked gently. She turned her head slowly and looked straight into my eyes. That was when I saw it clearly. Her eyes were empty, distant, like she was not fully there. She was in shock. Then, without breaking eye contact, she spoke.“He’s a vampire.”Her voice was flat, almost emotionless. She tilted her head slightly toward Ronal
