Her Mate's Secret Affair

(Aurora's POV)

Four years. Four years of loyalty, sacrifice, and devotion reduced to this moment.

I gripped the steering wheel of my car until my knuckles turned white, watching the scene unfold before me. The luxury den that Alexander bought for me for our mating ceremony sat on the edge of pack territory—a place that was supposed to be our retreat. Now it was the stage for his betrayal.

Alexander emerged from the den first, his powerful frame silhouetted against the setting sun. Even from this distance, I could recognize the relaxed set of his shoulders, so different from the rigid posture he always maintained around me.

Then she appeared. Ivy Lawrence. The Beta's daughter.

My stomach clenched as she stumbled slightly on the porch, her delicate features pulling into an exaggerated pout. "Alex, my paws still hurt from shifting," she whined, her voice carrying on the evening breeze.

What happened next felt like a knife twisting in my chest. Alexander—my mate, the future Alpha of the Blackwood Pack—swept Ivy into his arms with a tenderness I'd never been shown. Not once in four years.

"I've got you, little wolf," he murmured, his voice low and intimate.

He carried her down the steps, her arms wound around his neck as she nuzzled against him. When they reached the grass, he set her down gently, but she didn't pull away. Instead, she rose on her tiptoes, pressing her lips against his.

The kiss was passionate, possessive. And Alexander didn't hesitate to return it.

I should look away. I knew I should. But I couldn't tear my eyes from them as his hands threaded through her blonde hair, so different from my honey-brown waves. My wolf, Zoe, whimpered inside me, confusion and hurt radiating through our shared consciousness.

"How long?" I whispered to the empty car. "How long has this been happening?"

My mind raced backward through months of late nights, emergency pack meetings, and territory patrols that suddenly made perfect sense.

Four years ago, Alexander had pursued me with the single-minded focus of an Alpha wolf. I still remembered his words clearly: "Aurora, you're my most suitable mate for strengthening the Blackwood Pack." Not the most romantic proposal, but I'd understood. As a healer with rare abilities, I brought value to his bloodline.

For him, I'd abandoned my healing sanctuary. For him, I'd left my frail grandmother in the care of others while I moved to the Blackwood den. For him, I'd poured my knowledge and skills into improving the pack's healing practices, bringing acclaim and respect to the Blackwoods throughout the territory.

And now that Alexander had secured his position as future Alpha, I had become... dispensable.

"Too serious," he'd complained recently. "Where's your playful side, Aurora? Other she-wolves know how to have fun."

Other she-wolves like Ivy Lawrence.

As if sensing my thoughts, Alexander pulled away from Ivy, his head turning slightly toward my hidden car. I ducked down, though I knew he couldn't see me from this distance. My scent was masked by the bitter herbs I'd rubbed on my wrists and neck—a trick I'd learned from my grandmother for gathering rare plants without alerting territorial animals.

I'd never imagined I'd use it to spy on my own mate.

My phone felt heavy in my hand as I pulled it out. For a moment, I hesitated, then dialed Alexander's number. Through the windshield, I watched him stiffen as his phone rang. He glanced at the screen, then back at Ivy.

"Aren't you going to answer that?" she asked, her voice carrying on the breeze.

He silenced the call.

"Alexander Blackwood," I said when his voicemail picked up, keeping my voice steady despite the rage and hurt burning inside me. "I'm reminding you that today is my birthday. The dinner with your family begins at eight." I paused. "Don't be late."

I ended the call, watching as he slipped his phone back into his pocket with barely a glance. Behind him, Ivy wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing herself against his back.

"Was that her?" The contempt in her voice was unmistakable.

"Just pack business," Alexander replied, turning to kiss her again. "Nothing important."

Nothing important. The words echoed in my head as I started my car, backing away slowly before turning onto the main road. My birthday. Our anniversary. Nothing important.

I pressed the second number on my speed dial. Ruby Stone, my loyal beta-in-training, answered immediately.

"Aurora? Are you okay?" Her concern washed over me, a balm to my wounded pride.

"I need you to do something for me," I said, surprised by the steadiness of my voice. "Call the utilities company. I want all services to our border den shut off immediately. Water, electricity, everything."

A brief pause. "Found him with her, didn't you?"

There was no judgment in Ruby's voice, only fierce loyalty. She'd warned me months ago that something was wrong. I should have listened.

"Yes."

"Consider it done." I could hear the satisfaction in her tone. "Anything else?"

I thought of the mate-bond severance papers hidden in my desk drawer. Documents I'd been working on privately for weeks, listing my claims to half our shared hunting territories and resources. Papers I'd been too afraid to show Alexander.

"Not yet," I replied. "But be ready. Things are about to change."

Back at the main pack house, I stood under the hot spray of the shower, trying to wash away the image of Alexander and Ivy together. The water couldn't erase the hurt, but it helped clear my head.

When I stepped out, I caught my reflection in the full-length mirror. My honey-brown hair fell in wet waves down my back. My green eyes—usually bright with healing energy—looked dull and tired. The jade pendant that enhanced my healing powers hung between my breasts, a stark contrast against my pale skin.

I studied my body critically, comparing myself to what I'd seen of Ivy. She was petite, curved in all the right places, with the kind of figure that turned heads. I was taller, leaner, with the muscled physique of a working healer who spent hours gathering herbs in difficult terrain.

Was that why Alexander had strayed? Because I looked like this?

The bedroom door opened without warning.

"Enjoying the view?" Alexander's deep voice made me jump.

I grabbed a towel, wrapping it around myself as I turned to face him. His amber eyes gleamed with something between amusement and irritation as he stalked toward me.

"You're back early," I said, keeping my voice neutral.

Alexander's lips curved into a mocking smile. "Funny thing about that. The power and water at the border den suddenly stopped working." He stopped just behind me, close enough that I could feel his heat against my back. "Did you cut the utilities because you were jealous of my attention to the Beta's daughter?"

There it was. Not even a denial. Just the assumption that I would accept his affair as an Alpha's right.

"It's my property too," I reminded him, meeting his gaze in the mirror. "I have every right to manage it as I see fit."

His hands came to rest on my shoulders, sliding down my arms in a gesture that once would have made me lean into him. Now it took everything I had not to pull away.

"It's the full moon tomorrow night," he murmured, his lips grazing my ear. "Your most fertile time."

Of course. It always came back to this. Alexander didn't want me—he wanted what I could give him. Pups. Heirs. Leverage to claim the remaining territory shares still controlled by Elder Blackwood, his grandfather.

What he didn't know—what I'd never told him—was that I would likely never bear pups. The rogue wolf attack three years ago, when I'd been protecting him from attack, had left me with severe internal injuries. The pack doctor had warned me privately that pregnancy would be difficult, if not impossible.

I'd been waiting for the right moment to tell Alexander. Now, I wondered if I should tell him at all.

"Aurora." His voice deepened as his hands slid to my waist. "It's been too long."

I should push him away. I should hand him the severance papers right now.

Instead, I stood frozen as he lifted me effortlessly, carrying me to our bed. The scent of another female still clung to him, faint but unmistakable to my heightened senses. Yet when he lowered his face to my neck, breathing in my scent, something inside me responded against my will.

The mate bond. The biological connection that made rejecting him physically painful.

"Alexander," I began, intending to stop this.

But then his lips found mine, and my treacherous body arched toward him. Zoe, my wolf, succumbed immediately to the mate bond, whimpering with need as Alexander's musky scent enveloped us.

I felt my wolf responding in a way I hadn't for months, revealing a rare sexy side that seemed to surprise even Alexander.

His wolf, Alex, surged forward, eyes glowing with primal desire as he growled against my throat.

Let's Sever Our Mate Bond!
(Aurora's POV)I lay beneath Alexander, my body there but my mind elsewhere. His hands roamed my skin possessively, his lips tracing hungry patterns along my neck."Aurora," he growled, his amber eyes flashing with frustration. "You're not responding."I stared at the ceiling. Although my wolf Zoe glowed to respond, I felt nothing but disgust. The scent of Ivy still clung to him, faint but unmistakable."What's wrong with you tonight?" Alexander demanded, pulling back slightly to study my face.I remained motionless, like a dead fish. Let him feel the coldness I felt inside."Is this how you plan to give me an heir?" he snapped, his Alpha dominance pushing against my consciousness. That was it. The final thread of my patience snapped."Alexander," I said clearly, looking directly into his eyes, "let's sever our mate bond."He froze above me, surprise flickering across his face before it hardened into something cold and calculating."What did you just say?" His voice was dange

Luna Blackwood, Am I Pure? (Aurora's POV)
The tension at our table was palpable as Alexander and I locked eyes across from each other. Ethan Gray cleared his throat awkwardly, clearly sensing he'd been caught in something he hadn't intended."Alexander," Ethan said, standing up with practiced ease. "I was just discussing pre-mating agreement with Aurora."Alexander's amber eyes narrowed dangerously. "Were you now?"The possessive note in his voice surprised me. He had no right to jealousy, not when Ivy Lawrence's scent still lingered on his skin."The pre-mating agreement," I clarified, sliding the folder toward Alexander. "Apparently I signed away all rights to our shared territories if I initiate bond severance."A satisfied smirk tugged at Alexander's lips. "Good of you to remind her, Ethan."Ethan's gaze flickered between us, his steel-gray eyes revealing nothing of his thoughts. "Just doing my job as pack enforcer. I should get going."With a respectful nod to both of us, Ethan made his exit, leaving me alone with

I've Never Slept With Ivy
(Aurora's POV)The night air felt heavy as we left Elder Blackwood's pack house. Alexander walked beside me, maintaining a careful distance that somehow felt more intimate than if he'd been touching me."Your conversation with Dominic seemed intense," he said casually, breaking our silence. His voice was controlled, but I could sense the tension underneath.I glanced at him from the corner of my eye. "We discussed the Beta's daughter."Alexander's jaw tightened. "Ivy is becoming quite the topic around here.""She certainly makes herself available for discussion," I replied coolly. To my surprise, Alexander reached for my hand, his warm fingers intertwining with mine. The unexpected tenderness caught me off guard."I need you to understand something, Aurora," he said, his voice dropping to a gentler tone I rarely heard. "I've never slept with Ivy."I blinked rapidly, fighting the tears that threatened to form. Not because I believed him, but because I understood the game he was

I Cannot Bear Pups! (Aurora's POV)
"Alexander," I said, meeting his gaze steadily, "I need to tell you something important."The forest clearing suddenly felt too small, the moonlight too bright. My heart pounded against my ribs as I prepared to reveal the secret I'd carried for three years."What is it?" Alexander's voice was impatient, his amber eyes still cold with anger from my slap.I took a deep breath. "It's about why I haven't been able to give you an heir. I—"The urgent howl of Alexander's phone cut through the night air, interrupting my confession. His expression shifted from irritation to concern as he quickly checked the message."Alexander Blackwood," he answered sharply.I could hear the frantic voice of Eva Dawnrunner, his assistant, through the speaker. Her normally calm tone was replaced with panic."Alpha heir, it's Ivy Lawrence! She's in critical condition from the wolf wine poisoning! The healers say her blood is rejecting the treatment!"Alexander's face paled. Without another word to me, h

Alexander's Possessiveness (Ethan's POV)
The night wrapped around us like a silent guardian as I sat in my parked SUV with the sleeping Aurora beside me. Moonlight filtered through the trees, casting silver patterns across her face. Her honey-brown hair spilled over my leather jacket that covered her shoulders.I checked my watch: just past midnight. The wolfsbane-infused whiskey had knocked her out completely. Not wanting to disturb her, I leaned back in my seat and closed my eyes. The pack would be wondering where their chief enforcer had disappeared to. Alexander would certainly have questions if he found out I was alone with his mate."Alexander..."My eyes snapped open at Aurora's whisper. She was still asleep, her face turned toward me, eyes closed but brow furrowed."I'm here," I responded without thinking. She shifted slightly, a small smile touching her lips. "You came back."I didn't correct her. Something selfish in me wanted to know what it would feel like, just for a moment, to be the one she spoke to with

A Rare Moment of Tenderness
(Aurora's POV)I woke to a pounding headache that felt like silver daggers stabbing behind my eyes. The sunlight filtering through the curtains was unbearably bright, making me groan and pull the covers over my head."Finally awake, sleeping beauty?"Ruby's voice was unnecessarily cheerful as she entered my bedroom carrying a steaming mug. The scent of healing herbs wafted toward me—her special hangover remedy."What time is it?" I croaked, my throat dry as sandpaper."Almost noon," Ruby replied, setting the mug on my bedside table. "You've been out since Ethan dropped you off."Memories of the previous night flooded back—the bar, the wolfsbane whiskey, Ethan carrying me to his car. I groaned again, this time from embarrassment rather than pain."Alexander was here," Ruby added cautiously, watching my face for a reaction.I sat up too quickly, making the room spin. "What? When?""Around three this morning. He came for his ceremonial robes."My stomach clenched. "Did he... see

Alexander, I Won't Return! (Aurora's POV)
The evening breeze whipped through my hair as I walked across the healing center's parking lot, my small box of healing supplies clutched against my chest. My decision was made. After four years of emotional neglect, I was finally taking control of my life."Aurora! Wait!"I recognized Ethan Gray's deep voice instantly. Turning, I saw him jogging toward me, his steel-gray eyes filled with concern."Are the rumors true?" he asked, coming to a stop before me. "Are you really leaving the Blackwood Pack?"I adjusted my grip on the box. "Not the pack entirely. Just Alexander."Ethan's eyes widened slightly. "That's a significant distinction.""I've given him four years of my life," I said quietly. "I won't give him another day."The evening sun cast long shadows across the parking lot, highlighting the sharp angles of Ethan's face. He stood close enough that I could detect his familiar scent—pine and steel, comforting in its steadiness."Thank you for that night at Silver Moon Bar,"

Why Are You Here?
(Alexander's POV)I stared at the yellowed fertility assessment report in my hands, reading it for what must have been the twentieth time since discovering it. The harsh medical terminology blurred before my eyes, but the conclusion remained brutally clear: "Severe damage to reproductive system. Pregnancy highly improbable."Three years. Aurora had carried this burden alone for three years.I slumped into the leather chair in my private office, away from curious pack eyes. The empty bottle of wolfsbane whiskey on my desk attested to my attempts to dull the revelation's sting."Alpha heir?" Eva Dawnrunner's voice came through the intercom. "The council members are asking about Luna Aurora's absence.""Tell them she's attending to her grandmother," I replied automatically."And the mate bond severance papers that arrived this morning?"I growled low in my throat. "File them. Tell no one.""As you wish, Alpha heir."The fertility report trembled in my hands. Aurora's question fro

Long-Awaited Intimacy (Aurora's POV)
"You shouldn't be here," I said, trying to close the door.Alexander's hand shot out, his palm flat against the wood as he pushed back. The door swung open against my resistance, his Alpha strength making my effort seem laughable."We need to talk," he growled, stepping inside my new den uninvited. Before I could protest, Alexander's hands gripped my waist. His touch burned through the thin silk of his ceremonial robe that barely covered my body. In one swift movement, he pulled me against his chest."Alexander, stop—" My words died as his mouth captured mine. The kiss wasn't gentle. It was hungry, desperate, full of an intensity I'd never felt from him before. His arms encircled me completely as we stumbled backward toward the sofa.My back hit the cushions as Alexander followed me down, his body pressing mine into the soft surface. His amber eyes glowed with something primal—something his wolf Alex was driving to the surface."Do you feel it?" he asked against my lips, his voi
