LOGINOlivia’s PoV
Vivian's words still rang in my ears. She had been Damian’s girlfriend. Had Damian betrayed me with her? Had he been faking love and caring for me all along? It all makes sense now. How he sacrificed her wolf all for Vivian’s sake without a second thought. I lay on my bed and even though I thought I had no more tears to shed, my pillow was instantly soaked. Soon, I fell asleep once again, feeling weak and desolate. “Luna your meal.” An omega entered with a trade of steaming food after knocking softly. I sat up and noticed the look of pity she gave me. This is what Damian has turned me into, a pitiful Luna. “Thank you, Marie. You can leave it on the table.” She placed the trade on the coffee table next to the small armchair but did not leave. “Do you want something, Marie?” She fidgeted a little before she spoke nervously. “Luna, Alpha was going to bring your meal, but Ms. Vivian suddenly fell ill, and Alpha rushed her to the pack’s hospital.” I scoffed inwardly, of course. Damian already made it clear that to him, Vivian is more important than his own wife. “Thank you, Marie. You may go back; I will call you if I need you.” I dismissed her, not wanting to talk about Damian. I sat on the armchair and after managing a few bites my hand felt weak and my spoon fell to the floor. A laugh that ended in a sob escaped me. Here I was, unable even to eat properly and my mate was taking care of another woman. Later that night as I sat in the living room, refusing to drown in my pain and self-pity, Damian came back. After hours of being with Vivian at her beck and call and not a single call or text to me. If it were the old me, I would have rushed to meet him already. I would have asked him about his day as I took his jacket off and handed him slippers. His favorite dishes would have been scattered on the table and my whole face would have lit up at the slightest compliment from him. “Olivia? Why are you in the dark?” Damian approached me, without turning the lights on. He could see perfectly fine in the dark, but not me without my wolf. “It was too much effort to get up just for that,” I answered already standing up to leave. “Let me help you.” He said gently, trying to pick me up in his arms. I froze slightly pushing away. “Let me get used to my new situation Damian. You are barely around and can’t help me all the time.” I said sharply. “Olivia, you sound different.” He turned the lights on and looked at me with a flicker of guilt “This is just temporary. Remember? In a few months, everything will be the way it was before.” Oh, Damian, nothing will ever be the same again. “This is hard on both of us Olivia. Don’t think I like to see you like this.” I scoffed. Hard on him too? The audacity. He cupped my face trying to kiss me, but Vivian’s strong perfume still clung to his clothes. It almost made me wretch. “What’s wrong?” Damian asked, taken aback. “Damian, you and Vivian… Is it true that she was your girlfriend before she was mated to your brother?” My eyes locked with his, but he averted his gaze quickly. “Who told you that?” He arched a brow. “We were teenagers, it wasn’t that deep. Don’t overthink it.” He reassured me gently. “Shouldn’t I? Lately you have spent so much time with her. Who’s to say you have not rekindled the romance?” I replied, my eyes never left his. I could feel his aura rising. “Olivia, seriously?! It’s my brother’s mate who you’re talking about.” He raised his hands in frustration. Then he grabbed me by the shoulders leaning towards me and spoke gently. “We broke up ages ago. As soon as she and my brother discovered they were mates she chose him without a blink and I never thought about her other than my sister-in-law ever since then. In fact, if something had happened between Vivian and me, you would have felt it.” He spoke almost in a whisper, trying to soothe my emotions, but it was what he said about me being able to feel his betrayal of our mate bond that drove a knife through my chest, opening this unhealing wound. How can I have felt if I don’t have a wolf anymore? My Vanilla is gone and the pain of her absence is agonizing. How can he forget what this curse caused me? “Now be a good girl and let me take you to our room.” Already tired of arguing I let him carry me, while he kept talking. “My mate is so silly. How can you even entertain that idea? You know better than anyone how much I respected my brother. I would never get involved with Vivian. Stop spinning crazy ideas inside your pretty head.” He left me on the bed while he went to shower. Honestly, whether he and Vivian are together or not, I should not care anymore. Soon I will be gone, and Damian will be free to do whatever he wants. As for this baby and me, he will never see us in this life again. Suddenly, as if my baby felt my conflicting emotions, a sharp pain in my stomach made me double over in pain when Damian was showering. Cold sweat drenched my face, but luckily, it subsided quickly. I slowly took out my pajamas from the dresser and put them on the bed. Just at that time, my phone rang. My brother! I peered at the bathroom. Damian was still showering. Luckily he likes to take long ones. I had time to talk to Stephen “Stephen!” I choked a sob. “Olivia! Are you alright? Sorry, I missed your call.” Just hearing his voice brought tears like waterfalls down my face. I told him everything and his furious roar vibrated through the phone. “The war is over, as soon as I finish wrapping up everything here, I will go to pick you up right away. I will be there in no more than a month, and Olivia… He will pay.” He was seething. Just as I hung up, Damian came out of the shower. “Who were you talking to?” He said in a jealous tone.Olivia’s PoV Vivian was almost hyperventilating when she planted herself between the Delta warrior and Ashley, who looked at Vivian weakly. Damian growled, angrily. “Stay away from this Vivian! This doesn’t concern you. Derek, take my brother’s wife back to her place.” Damian ordered the other Delta warrior as he waved Vivian dismissively, but Vivian was not one to back down easily. She approached Damian with a pleading look. “Damian, whatever she did, forgive her please. Do it for me. She has been very helpful to me during this time.” She gave Damian a meaningful look as she rubbed her slightly grown stomach. Damian seemed to realize something and ordered the Delta to stop. “Take that eye sore to the pack’s hospital.” He growled not even bothering to look at the broken Ashley. I let out a breath of relief when the Delta carried her out of the dungeons. Thankfully Vivian arrived on time. I can’t believe I’m thankful that my husband’s ex-girlfriend managed to stop the punishm
Olivia’s PoV Damian’s face turned cold as he gave Ashley a menacing glare. Ashley stood there acting like a pathetic weakling. She was such a good actress; if I hadn’t seen her true colors before, I would have pitied her. “Your Luna asked you a question, woman. Answer her!!” Damian ordered her. He stood there radiating Alpha dominance. Ashley immediately cowered. I truly believe she fears him somehow. She looked at me but quickly lowered her head, as she spoke in a humble tone. “Luna… I was tidying up the sofa earlier and one must have fallen on accident. It won’t happen again.” She stammered and looked at me once again to see if I believed her lies. “Is this what you call tidying up?” I scoffed as I pulled a pair of purple panties from behind the cushion holding it up with a pen and dropping them on the floor quickly, feeling my guts revolt. It was when I came back downstairs again that I found the offending garment sticking out from under the couch. They did it here, in m
. Damian's PoV Contrary to my better judgment, when Olivia asked me to bring Ashley with me, I didn’t hesitate. I’ve been driving myself up the walls unable to touch Olivia. I need to quench my desires somehow and she handed me the best opportunity. Ashley was straddling me on the floor, when I remembered to check the time. “Fuck!” I looked at my watch pushing Ashley away. It’s almost six, Olivia must be on her way by now. “Alpha, what happened?” A startled Ashley asked as she picked her clothes from the floor. “Why didn’t you remind me of the time?” I said icily. “I… I lost track of time too.” She said meekly as she blushed. I did not miss the small smug look on her face, even if it was fleeting. I gave her a cold glare. “Don’t ever think this is more than a convenient fuck, witch. You’re easy and available as well as good at what you do. Once my Luna recovers from the curse, you will go back to getting scraps.” She nodded, lowering her head. “Yes, Alpha.” She
Olivia’s PoV It didn’t take long for Damian to leave. This gathering is not his usual idea of fun. I was sitting alone as Katherine and Mrs. Agatha were still bringing out food from the kitchen. “Olivia, I have something important to deal with. It’s time to go back.” My eyes snapped onto him. I didn’t want to leave so soon. “Damian, I want to stay a little longer. Let Katherine drive me back home.” I asked gently. “And take Ashley with you. I don’t need her.” Damian turned to look at Ashley who was standing expectantly not far from him. She had been looking uneasy after the dog incident. Damian’s eyes lingered a little too long on Ashley and to my surprise, he agreed to both things. “Fine, Katherine can drive you back. Don’t stay for long.” Damian said as he kissed my hand. “I will be home by six. Thank you, Damian.” He nodded and turned to leave. Ashley walked hurriedly behind him looking nervously at her surroundings. She walked fast until she was very close to Damian.
Olivia’s PoV Three days later. These past few days. Everything has been fine. I have been resting at home, and I’m glad that, aside from feeling weak, I haven't experienced any pain. At least not physical, but every time I remember Vanilla, the void in my chest still suffocates me. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to her absence. Damian has been hovering over me like a mother hen. He got scared from the last time I got admitted to the hospital. He knows that if something happens to me, it would be the end of Vivian’s pup. I put a protective hand on my stomach. My own pup is at risk, too, and he is my only priority. I don’t wish anything bad for Vivian’s child, but why is he more important to Damian than his own child? Damian entered then with a plate of fruit. I was sitting on the balcony soaking in the sun rays. Watching the pack members going on about their lives like any other Tuesday. Whereas I lived in constant worry that Damian would discover I was pregnant and make m
Ashley's PoV I slipped out of Damian’s office like a shadow. I learned to become one when I was a slave in the black market. I had been whipped countless times just for simply existing, so I always tried to blend in, to become a shadow until it was engraved in my bones. Anything but being whipped, I hated it. My body shivered just thinking about it. I had resigned to that miserable life, where pain and hunger were my daily constant. Until he came. My Damian, my savior. When he bought me, he gave me a place to stay, and he made me feel needed and cared for. He made me feel alive again. He says my whole purpose is to serve him but it’s not a job when I love doing that for him. The only obstacle to my complete happiness is Olivia. I had stepped on their wedding portrait on my way out, the one Damian threw earlier in a fit of rage, and it shattered. I giggled. I hate how Damian always defends that woman. He always belittles me for her. The sooner she gets out of the picture the
