I returned to the mating ball because of the responsibilities of the Luna of the pack. Even though these are the last few days of this role from now on, I wouldn’t abandon it.

I checked the time before texting our family lawyer’s number to meet me at the packhouse for the preparation of the divorce agreement tomorrow. I knew he would keep this to himself, so I wasn’t worried about this news traveling like fire in the forest.

I personally congratulated those pack members who found their mates while cheering for those who couldn’t find their mates tonight.

Soon, Massimo joined me, and we acted like a perfect couple to avoid any gossip.

"You know that I can sense your feelings even though you’re good at faking your smile," He said while dancing. Since we were doing the Waltz, we had to come close to each other every few seconds, and his closeness was affecting me. It was breaking the tough face that I had maintained.

"Your point?"

He hissed before speaking, "You started showing your true color after learning about my fated mate."

"So what were you expecting? I will cry and beg in front of you?" I asked him with a scoff. "I won’t give you the satisfaction of seeing my tears, Alpha Massimo De Luca."

"Seeing this side of yours, I feel like I never knew you," He commented.

"As if you spent time getting to know me. Tell me, what’s my favorite color or favorite food?" I smiled sadly when he had no answer to my question. "I’m leaving. Tell everyone that I was sick," I said when the dance was about to come to an end.

"Sick? Are you pregnant?" He questioned.

"No. That’s an excuse for others." I tried my best to lie perfectly. A part of me wasn’t okay with that. I shouldn’t be lying to a father about his pup, but another part of me wanted to know whether he wanted his pup or not.

"I still want you to visit the hospital tomorrow and get a check-up. The last thing I want to receive is any unwanted surprise or you raising my heir alone after leaving here," I controlled myself from slapping right at his cheek in front of everyone.

He asked me to become his chosen mate.

He asked me to start a family.

He asked me to leave.

Now he was asking me this.

"Well, after knowing what an asshole you are, I will get rid of your little thing instead of raising him or her," I said, gritting my teeth. Immediately, his hazel eyes flashed blue, and he left my hand that he had been holding for dance.

‘Leave before I end up embarrassing you in front of everyone in anger,’ He said in a very pissed tone. I didn’t stay a second there to calm down his anger.

After all, he wasn’t mine anymore.

I screamed in pain, and hot tears rolled out of my eyes. I didn’t know how long I would cry thinking about everything. This should have been the happiest day of my life, but it turned into a nightmare.

The pain of heartbreak was already enough for me, but what I wasn’t expecting was the pain of betrayal. I didn’t know what exactly was going on between them, but I was going crazy thinking about everything that could have happened if two fated mates were left alone in a room.

I recalled how I met Massimo for the first time, and since then I have wanted him as my mate.

I was six years old when my parents sent me to summer camp, but unfortunately, rogues attacked our camp, kidnapping almost all the Alpha pups.

I wiped my tears, recalling how he took the hit that was supposed to be for me because I didn’t stop crying even when they ordered me to.

That incident had printed itself into my mind like a trauma because I had watched them hit Massimo because he didn’t want anyone to touch me.

I didn’t know what was exactly happening at that moment because I was busy crying, but later I learned from Dad that they were planning to sell a female Alpha heir. In fact, they were also successful in selling most of them.

The only reason I was left behind was that those rogues were busy torturing Massimo by holding me captive. At the same time, they wanted to check to what extent a male Alpha heir could handle the pain.

The boy who had saved me from enormous pain at that moment had given me this extreme pain.

I wished he wouldn’t have saved me that night. Then I wouldn’t have saved his life.

I wish I had dropped the idea of finding him again.

I wish I would have listened to My dad when he told me to focus on myself instead of running behind him.

*

"Luna!" I heard a soft knock at my door. "Michael Smith is here." I heard Isla, the head omega voice, from the other side of the door. Michael Smith was none other than the lawyer whom I had asked to visit me tomorrow.

Why did he come so early?

I looked at the clock, and I realised that it was five in the evening.

Fuck! My pup would have been hungry. That was the first thought that came to mind. I couldn’t risk my pup's life because of my stupidity.

‘Ask him to wait for me in the garden,’ I responded through the mind link because she wouldn’t be able to hear my voice as the room was soundproof. One could hear what was going on outside, but this rule didn’t apply to the person if he or she tried to hear the conversation going on inside the room from outside.

I stood up on my feet and felt a little dizzy because of the weakness, whether it was because of a lack of food or sleep or because my body used all its power to build a shield around my heart to handle the pain of betrayal.

I looked at my miserable state in the mirror. My beautiful chocolate-brown hair looked no less than the nest of a bird. It was hard to believe that this was the same beautiful hair that was perfectly done by the beautician.

All my makeup had been ruined, and I looked more like a scary witch than a beautiful Luna.

I laughed at the woman in the mirror because no one but herself was the reason behind this state. I walked into the bathroom to freshen up.

The natural glow had disappeared from my face, so I had to use makeup to look normal. I used goggles to cover my red eyes.

I smiled, looking at my reflection, and she smiled back at me. I wore a yellow pencil skirt that reached my knees, matching it with a white and black baggy top. I chose white stiletto heels to match my top and goggles with a yellow lens to match my skirt.

Perfect.

I walked out of the room like nothing had happened last night. I smiled when Omegas bowed their heads. I knew that I smile a lot in all situations.

That was because of the trauma that I had in childhood. I was crying a lot after getting kidnapped and also when they were hitting Massimo. That was when I learned that crying would solve anything; in fact, a lot of people enjoyed watching you cry.

"I’m sorry for making you wait for this long, Uncle Michael," I said, grabbing the seat in front of him. He smiled sadly. Something told me that he already knew everything in detail, so I called him. I didn’t know I was this hungry until I saw the snacks on the table. "Please don’t mind me. I’m just a little hungry," I said, smiling sheepishly.

"Who can say that you are the same woman who cried the whole night because of the pain of the heartbreak?" He commented, making me arch my brow, "I couldn’t help myself from thinking about whose divorce agreement you were talking about last night, so I called Massimo in the morning to know the whole thing because your number was switched off."

I stayed quiet when he was speaking, enjoying my snacks.

"If his parents would have been alive, then they would have been very upset with all this incident." Uncle Michael spoke, taking out the file from his bag. I knew Massimo’s father was fond of me from day one. I had never met his mother, but his father always used to say that his mate would have loved me more than him.

I picked up the file, taking a pause from eating, to see what it was.

‘Divorce Agreement’

I looked at him for an explanation. If I didn’t tell him the points that I needed in the agreement, then why did he already prepare the agreement without discussing it with me?

"As I told you, I talked with Massimo in the morning. That was when he learned about the divorce agreement, and he asked me to prepare the agreement based on his terms and conditions." Uncle Michael spoke, and my jaw tightened.

Couldn’t he handle the fact that I was the one who was planning to prepare for a divorce agreement, not him?

But never mind; the agreement was already in my hand, and my stomach churned observing his signature on it. He could have made it less painful for me by not signing it first.

Was he that eager to get rid of me?

"He also told me that after signing this agreement, you won’t be allowed to stay in the packhouse anymore," Uncle Michael said, to which I nodded my head and read the agreement. "He knows your dream of becoming a lawyer. That’s why he has been very generous about the alimony." He added when he realized the page I was reading.

As per the contract, Massimo was offering me ten billion, a penthouse, a car, and all other expenses until I was fully independent.

I wanted to ask why they offered me so much money. Was this the cost of taking my virginity by giving me false hope?

"Becoming a lawyer?" I chuckled, and he looked at me in confusion. "I’m a medical student, Uncle."

"Oh, my bad!’ He apologized, saying, "I’m sure he knows about it. The change in the profession is my mistake," He explained.

"It’s okay, I won’t mind," I smiled politely before starting to sign the first paper.

"You do know that you need to leave the packhouse immediately if you sign it now," He reminded me again. I smiled and signed all the papers. I handed it over to him once it was signed.

"I’m leaving right now, Uncle Michael. Take care," I said, standing on my feet. I had barely taken a few steps when I saw Isla coming towards me with my purse and the car key. I thanked her before walking towards the red Ferrari 488 in the parking lot.

Throwing my purse in the passenger seat, I grabbed the driver’s seat and wasted no time leaving there.

Five years later,*Nicole*“Nico, Lico!! "Come inside!" I yelled, watching Nico stand on the tree's branch and Lico sits under it with his book in his hand.Lawrence Elijah Glint. Our second son. We call him Lico as his nickname because his name is also long, like that of his older brother. Both my boys were unexpected and unplanned, but I didn’t regret having them.In fact, it was a positive experience to already have two pups when I was still twenty-six.Unlike Nico, Lico was a carbon copy of his father, including his hair and eyes. It was a little irritating that I gave birth to both of them, but none of them looked like me.‘Soha, bring them inside. It’s their snack time,’ I mind-linked Soha, who was looking after them. I wondered where Coco was. These three boys tend to stick together most of the time.*Soha*“Master Nico, please come down. You might fall,” I said with tension. He grinned and started jumping on the tree branch when he heard me.“I’m Nicholas Frederick Glint, S

Nicole * He wasn’t in a good mood, and of course, I was indirectly the reason behind it. To be honest, I was shocked to learn what Nonna had done. I wasn’t expecting her to stoop this low. “Excuse me. Nico is awake and crying," I said with a smile as I excused myself from the guest. I had no idea why, but everyone was damn too interested in knowing about me. The woman who rose from an omega to a luna had wrapped Alpha Frederick around her little finger. “Of course! I can say that he is fussy about the people around him. Therefore, he must be looking for you.” A few of them also indirectly tested my knowledge. But I was fully prepared for this battle, even without Frederick’s support. “Thank you for understanding.” I dashed toward Nico’s room, where Nonna was. “I need to talk with you,” I said in a low tone, looking at her. “But…” “Right now, Nonna.” She started to stand when I spoke again. “You can give a goodbye kiss to Nico if you want.” She narrowed her eyes, looking at me w

Frederick*Before I could do anything, I already saw that witch making her way toward us. I was positive that she wouldn’t do anything to harm anyone physically, but sometimes words hurt more than any weapon. ‘Can I go and meet her?’ Nicole mind-linked.‘Don’t ask for my permission when you are well aware of my answer. You’re my Luna. Do whatever you want,’ I responded, caressing her cheek fondly. I didn’t want to ruin her mood, but we couldn’t agree on everything.Everyone in the family was wary of that one person.I inhaled and exhaled to calm myself when meeting the guests. Generally, I should have done with my Luna, but...“In that case, let’s greet our guest first. I’m sure Nonna can wait. It’s Nico’s first appearance in public, right?”Nico slapped his mother, flapping his hands happily.Just like I had expected, Nicole confidently stood in front of other Alpha couples without getting nervous or scared, while Nico, being Nico, sometimes stared at them with a poker face and som

Frederick*Instead of waiting alone for Luna, I stood there, holding Nico. Not only was I shielding him from Monica Moretti's attention, but Nico also refused to leave my side.Mom tried to take him away, but he turned his head and clung to my neck.‘Keep an eye on that woman,’ I mind-linked all my warriors as the announcement of Nicole’s entry was made after her arrival. I couldn’t spoil Nicole’s important day by ignoring her, right?“Nico, Mom is here,” I whispered in his head, and I pointed my hand in the direction of the big door. Before I could even see her, her scent had already hit my nose.I forgot to breathe when my eyes landed on her. It was surprising how she managed to seduce him every single time. And like a horny dog, I wanted to devour every inch of her body after this ceremony was over. There was a time when all I could do was look at her secretly. And then I could do it in front of everyone.A wave of flashbacks hit as I watched her walk toward me, holding her father

  • Alpha's Regret: Chasing My Rejected Luna   165: See Your Mommy

Nicole Upon my return, I observed Nico relishing his massage before he drifted off to sleep, his tiny body enveloped in relaxation. I knew I would only get three to four hours before he was awake again. So, without wasting much time, I quickly returned to my Luna duties. “The cloth merchant is here, Luna,” Soha informed. “Serve him the beverages. I'll be joining him in the living room. I inhaled deeply, trying to calm myself down. It was my first time dealing with a merchant alone. “Greeting, Alpha Alee...” When he raised his head, he stopped, only to find me instead of Mom. My official Luna ceremony is still pending, so it's not his fault. “I’m Nicole Pearl Glint. Welcome to my pack, Merchant Paul Scott.” “Greetings Lady Nicole,” he greeted, looking down at me. I had encountered numerous individuals with that look and attitude since my marriage to Fredrick, so this was not unfamiliar to me. However, I had to set a clear example for him to follow. Insulting me would be more li

Nicole*I sniffed with my eyes closed and realized that he wasn’t around. Groaning, I opened my eyes to check on Nico. My body ached because of the wild sex last night, which lasted till dawn. A wide smile appeared on my lips as I watched my peanut sleep peacefully in front of me.He had grown up so much in the past two months. His weight was almost double when he was born. Nowadays, he is learning to take a side turn. And just like him, I was growing every day by learning new things as a mother and Luna of this pack.Placing a kiss on his forehead, I carefully left the bed.He was developing a sixth sense to wake up from his sleep whenever I left his side to do some work. I finished my personal business as soon as possible by keeping the washroom door open. When I returned, I found he was already awake and was looking around.“Like father, like son!! You both sense my absence immediately, don’t you?” I caressed his chin as I asked him, and he responded with a toothless smile. As per
