Chapter 78.

Mendy's Next Move

Author's POV.

Mendy waited until it was time for her to deal with the chaos that had ensued. She never imagined that this was ever going to happen.

It was none of the things that she had factored in when she was going ahead with delivering the potion to Liam but now he suddenly turned against her.

Not only that, he was giving the opportunity to save her but he had not taken it and had instead decided to deal with her and the presence of everyone and now that was even enough to get mad.

Where in the world was it said that Liam was supposed to react to the potion so quickly?

Chloe looked at her with a condescending look as she moved closer. "I see everything that you have been doing and trust me when I say that it's only a matter of time before you lose it all. I am not going to beg you nor am I going to stop you from going ahead with your plans but trust you when I see my eyes are on you and I am ready to make sure you lose."

Chapter 79.Chloe's POV. A sense of achievement washed through me but that wasn't enough because Liam had not returned home last night and not only that, her kids have also been annoyed with her that she had disgraced their teacher. Never in her wildest dream had she ever thought about the possibility that the kids would witness such a scenario and now blame her for it. I looked at the kids with a stunned expression. "You must be kidding me right now. Do you mean to tell me that you have not noticed everything that has been going on? Didn't you see that woman try to kill me and how I retaliated?" I didn't understand the reason for them not taking her words into consideration. It was almost as though I didn't mean a thing to them and they just wanted me out of the way. This was one of the consequences of Mendy's indoctrination. "You are not going to speak to me in the morning presently because your favorite teacher has been brought down. She tampered with my life even though she k

The amount of frustration that was coursing through Scott was enough to get him running away from anything that had to do with people related to his brother-in-law but he didn't allow that to stop him instead he went as far as destroying things in the cell just to get his attention. That did the trick anyway but he managed to also attract the stares of other inmates who were a little bit annoyed by the nuisance he created It was supposed to be a special dungeon but Liam had been really pissed and had asked that he be taken to the general cell. "So you think that this is going to draw him out?" Someone spoke in the dark confusing him slightly but he refused to give thoughts to him instead decided to deal with his mission squarely. She looked like she was happy crying for so long and didn't know how to manage the situation, and I felt bad for her. "How are you doing darling?" She croaked, coming closer to hold my hands while I stared into her eyes.I was tired of feeling this way all the time when I could feel a happy smile and goals being achieved. I had suddenly become a shell of myself something that was never in the world in the beginning. Even when Liam and I were not on talking terms, it wasn't as bad as this, but here I was trying to grasp the reality of what my life had become in the space of a few years and wondering how it would end up after so long. "I feel your pain but I can only advise that you take it easy and do not allow this to weigh you down." She advised me A few months ago, I would have taken this, but now I was ready to change the tr

Chapter 82. Chloe's POV. Watching both of them duel wasn't the highlight that I wanted, I wanted to dwell in peace while I recovered and knew what I wanted to do with my entire life because then I would be able to perform my next move and know what works for me but right now I was acting crazy and I knew this. Mendy smacked Lia in the face making me reel backwards in shock. This was too bad for someone who had never offended her in any way. Deciding to intervene I rose carefully, taking measured steps towards them with my head held high as Lia retaliated. There were a lot of growls between them and I didn't even know where to begin. If there was a way for me to make this part of my life short, I would have done it. Lia didn't deserve to be ridiculed in such a manner. She was one of the sweetest people that I have ever met, and I wanted her to remain unscathed. "You don't want to do something that you would end up regretting, do you? Mendy, I must have tolerated a few bad things

Chapter 83.Chloe's POV. The next day came fast enough and I was already bouncing on my feet. I wanted to prove to everyone that I was capable of discharging my duties without any interruption and that was exactly what I was going to do. Without wasting any more time, I headed straight to the pack school. I wanted to cause a dysfunction, but what better way to do that if I didn't go straight to the Head authorities and hear what they had to say concerning what their teacher had been doing? I also wanted to reach out to all the parents so that we could come together and form an alliance that wouldn't be broken anytime soon. I knew that I was a bit hasty in my decision, but that was the only way I could reason about this. If there was a better way for me to handle it, I would have taken it, but now that Mendy had challenged me, it was time to prove to her that she was not the only one with the ability to influence a large crowd. I was born with it. I looked at myself in the mirror

Chapter 84. Chloe's POV. Gaining independence wasn't as interesting as it sounded because it came with a lot of baggage, ranging from my children not still listening to me despite having called the principal's office, to having Mendy laugh at me the chance she got.It was annoying to say the list and sometimes I was unable to focus on what was more important.I felt like there was something more that I was not doing that made her have the upper hand and I was desperate to find out what exactly it was. This came as a shock to me as I moved around the house trying to make myself useful as Liam had spoken some days ago about me looking for things that didn't matter when I had more important issues to attend to.My consolation was the fact that she was not able to represent me when it came to prominent meetings such as these. I looked into the mirror and gazed at my reflection. It was totally lovely. Anyone would kill to be in my position even though I didn't think I wanted or deserved

I was grateful that I had taken Lia's advice on wearing the best number I could find because how was I supposed to face this enormous crowd with a rugged dress? I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something like that happened, and I was kind of happy that I didn't take that chance. Color me shocked when I saw Mendy already seated. I didn't know when she left the house because I stormed off, and waited in the car. It was a grandiose setting, and I commended Liam for whipping up such a quick move in the space of a few hours. This meeting had to be important for him to involve the decorators and everyone who he could find. I had never been more proud of myself than I was at that moment but I was still a little bit skeptical about what this might mean. Did he want to truly show me off or he just used that as an opportunity to get me off his back? Aria and Asher walked in their dress and suit r

Chapter 88.Chloe's POV. "Good evening everyone..." I began softly, hoping that I was able to convince everyone here of my unplanned speech. "I honestly do not know what to say concerning this but I have to begin with the decor. This was a fantastic job and I'm not even lying about it. You have made it worthwhile. You have made it your own, even though you didn't need to. Sometimes I wonder how your mind works. It's great to see that I have talented people around me." I chuckled nervously, trying to buy time as I stared at my friend who nodded in agreement. Mendy's face was swollen in anger and I watched her pick up her phone. It wasn't too long until my husband did the same. They didn't even have the decency to pretend that they listened to me. "It is a great honor to be standing in the presence of a lot of brilliant minds and delivering such a speech. A few people might not consider this as important but I do, it's not every time that you are privileged to meet people of such hi

Epilogue. Three years later. I stood in front of all the people that made mockery of me in the last few years and I came up with an idea that was going to yield a greater impact than whatever they decided to dump on me. It was going to take a long time before I finally gave up because now there was a reason for me to become Luna.Firstly, my eyes roamed about the crowd that had gathered one way or the other and I felt immensely proud of myself and my achievements. I had not wasted any time in making sure that this was completed and this made me very interested in whatever I could get. My eyes rested on my family which had come together after the first issue."Today we gathered together as a pack and celebrated the fact that we have only one person in our midst who has been wonderful through the beginning of time. We must have wronged her but she had never used this opportunity against us!" A moderator spoke on the platform, making me smile a little bit. Everyone's gaze was fille

Chapter 140.Author's POV.Liam didn't waste time to inform Mendy that there were a lot of things for them to do and they needed to do it as fast as possible. The only way they would be able to make a difference because if they were able to push Chloe away.Mendy hugged him tightly, planting a small kiss on his lips as everything she had ever wished for was falling into place in her very eyes. "If anyone had told me that I was going to experience this, I would never have believed it but, here I am with the most amazing man, who doesn't hesitate to do whatever I want. I think I'm the luckiest woman on Earth." Liam's feet tapped the ground in anger but he refused to allow himself to be mad at her. "Yeah, right." Scott and Ryan were already doing their thing, and it was up to him to have them get more answers. "So what do you want us to do? Do you want me to bring the kids over again or to kick Chloe out?" He asked in a somewhat weird voice. This was enough to sell the script that

Chapter 139. Author's POV. At Jax's pack, Jax walked out of his room with his head held high as he thought of the best way to humiliate the woman who had tried to make his life miserable. She had proven to be stubborn and he was going to love it when he broke her into pieces and made her forget the fact that she ever wanted to leave him. It was going to take a lot of mental stress, but what better way than to discover somebody who had wasted her time trying to fight for us, something that even she didn't understand. It was hard to say the least at least from the beginning but now that he had the upper hand, he was going to make it into whatever you wanted and hoped that she wouldn't come against him. "I hope you know that it's my birthday and you have to dance before everybody." He asked. Chloe looked up from the book she was reading. He had been kind enough to allow her access to books so that she wouldn't be bored out of her mind. He had claimed that this was the be

Chapter 138. Liam's POV. I jumped out of bed almost immediately as though somebody had pinched me. I looked around and found myself being alone in a room, wondering what the hell had happened and why I couldn't explain to anyone how I had felt. It was almost like I was telling a lie but I knew deep down that it wasn't. This was as real as possible. Something had changed inside of me. I looked at the teacup on my bed and smelt something weird. I picked it up immediately, inspecting the contents, and realizing it was just normal coffee, but something was highly different. The door opened immediately and I saw Bryan come in without my permission. "How are you feeling today?""When did you start being nice to me?" I demanded from him. "I think it has started to work and that's why you are trying to grasp why everything is upside down." "I still do not understand what you are talking about. I would love more context so that I have a perfect idea." I answered, a little bit worried

Chapter 137.Author's POV. One month later, Ryan and Lucy stood in front of the table in Liam's office this time fixated on him as they looked up and down coming up with nothing else but anger."What is the report from the people back there?""Everyone says that they have not been able to find her. In fact her scent is highly untraceable as everybody believes that she has probably decided to shield herself from the public. Are you sure she has been talking or this is just a way of getting her sanity back?" Lucy asked, a little worried but thinking of other possibilities. Chloe was a woman of many skills and sometimes she could deserve to come up with something but they wouldn't be able to comprehend. If that was the case, then they needed to be as careful as possible and not just Rush into conclusions like that. Liam came in just as they were having the conversation and was a little bit stifled even though he couldn't just ask how things had been going because of the bad relation

Chapter 136.Chloe's POV. Two weeks later, "There is only one place that I know that Mendy would never fail to take those kids to and that is back to Jax pack." Ryan's words rang in my head. It wasn't as simple as that because then I had so much to prove and I hoped that I was able to bring him back on track. I walked into a place that was formerly mine and my mouth fell wide open as I saw Sophia leaning on Jax's body stroking his chin softly. "What the hell is going on here?" I demanded angrily when I saw the way she continued even in my very presence without feeling like she had done something wrong. Sophia stood reluctantly, "I don't know why you are screaming. This is not your jurisdiction where you can do whatever you like so I would suggest that you tame your voice." My eyes widened at the second betrayal that I had received in the last few weeks. Why did everyone I trust turn on me so badly and make me feel like a fool? "You are not even sorry about your actions!" "Th

Chapter 135:Chloe's POV. After my brother collapsed on the ground, I had absolutely no choice but to think of what could be done next to ensure that I had everything back on track. Bryan attended a meeting that was supposed to help assist us on knowing how exactly to deal with my brother's case. Things were already getting out of hand and I didn't know how to handle it. Most importantly, I felt a little bit weird inside my bones as I was left with nothing but people just conversing and making mockery of me as I walked around the pack where I was once respected but now disgraced. My kids were still nowhere to be found and I felt like running mad but decided to hold myself together because if I did let myself go, how on earth was I supposed to get them back? That would simply be allowing Mendy to win and that was the last thing on my mind right now. All I needed was the faith that I was going to be able to overcome this without even batting an eyelid. "So, if I understand correc

134.Author's POV. Mehndi shook her head immediately when she heard those words come out of her younger sister's mouth. Of course, she was going to act like she was powerful, but she knew deep down that this lady feared for her life, and that was exactly what she was about to capitalize on. Her sister would never have the Liberty to move around and to do whatever it is that it took unless it was time and that she gave the permission. "Have you any idea what it means, to lose everything that you have ever worked for? Do you know how problematic your world turns?" Aria asked Mendy whose mind was completely somewhere else and didn't even care for whatever the child must have been feeling. In her mind, she couldn't wait for the kids to realize that she didn't love them and put them under her bondage forever. "You shouldn't disturb me when I'm trying to meditate. You, of all people, know that, don't you?!" She snapped at them, making them recoil in shock. This was the first time that

133.Chloe's POV. I was a little bit worried for my brother who had been doing a lot of work behind the scenes and had not been receiving any glory whatsoever. If there was anybody that I wanted to praise right now in my life, it had to be him, and I wasn't even ready to do anything besides just relax and wait and see what could be done. I had more than enough reason to be afraid when he grabbed the railing and immediately began to tremble like he had been struck by lightning. Someone else might think that I was exaggerating, but that was how I felt at that moment. I had more than enough reason to also fear my life when he came close to me and looked like he was about to give the ghost. My brother was the most precious thing in my life right now and I didn't think that I was going to change that for the world. I have more than enough reason to also relax and hope that the best came to me but I knew deep down that he was trying his best just to make sure that I enjoyed the fines
