"No Miss Ross, you can't bury her without involving the police. It will only make things worse for you," I said, hoping to change her mind.

"No Chloe, I'm not calling the police," she declared, leaving me stunned. I exchanged a worried look with Lucy.

"Lucy, we have to involve the police. If we don't, we might end up getting in trouble too," I snapped, holding Lucy's hands tightly.

"No Chloe, we can't tell the police. They might arrest Miss Ross," she cried, clearly scared. I understood her fear, but we couldn't keep this a secret. It was the right thing to do.

"Yes, they might arrest her if she's responsible. But if she's innocent, they'll let her go. We have to trust the justice system," I explained, tears welling up in my eyes.

"What about the cafe? What if they close it? Do we have anywhere else to go?" Lucy asked, her eyes searching the room anxiously. I looked around, feeling the weight of uncertainty.
