I looked exhausted like I've been carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. My clothes seemed to be sagging under the burden too.

Lucy, sitting beside me, looked just as tired as me, her eyes also bearing the signs of fatigue. She leaned against the headboard, her expression soft with concern as she gazed at me.

The hotel room was small and plain, with gray walls that seemed to close in on us. The old carpet creaked beneath our feet, and the single window let in a sliver of sunlight, casting a warm glow over the space. The clock on the desk ticked away, a gentle reminder that we only had two hours to rest before we face whatever challenges lay ahead. We searched almost all the city before we found a cheap hotel that would accept two hours of payment cause we were left with no money

Lucy's voice was gentle as she asked, "Chloe, how did you come back to MayHill?" She paused, her eyes filled with empathy. "What happened that made you stay away so l
