After that impressive start of the evening, Carver excused himself.

“I have to check on preparations.”

I rolled my eyes at his unnecessary efforts; my answer wasn’t going to change for just a luxury date. His temporary absence gave me a chance to catch my breath, I fixed my hair and examined my face with my mobile’s camera.

“Am I really that pretty?”

Skylar applied a cherry red lipstick for the date despite my protest, it was too loud as compared to my simple dress. This must be the reason for Carver’s compliment; otherwise, I was looking the same as any other day.

Anyway, the next ten minutes were spent scrolling business news. My new designs had gotten attention in the exclusive circle of the top ten companies. This new job was taking my career to a new height.
