Chapter 26: Make A Choice

EMILY:

Christian stepped into the ward. My hands were clutched as I was staring at Karen. There was so much hate growing deeper inside of me, but at the same time, I wanted to save that baby.

"Let's save her," I told Christian whose hand was on my shoulders. It was a hard decision to make. "We're doctor, let's save her first."

"You can leave if you can't handle it."

I wanted so badly to turn around and walk away, but I couldn't. "Why should I?"

"We can get her transferred to another hospital immediately. I understand how you feel seeing them here, and I'm begging you to leave Emily. You're going through enough already, so please."

The tears that I had been badly holding back finally fell free. I sniffled while still staring at Karen. Christian was right, I could not hide the hate I was feeling deep down for her, and I might be overtaken by my thirst for revenge and hurt an innocent child along the line.

"Please." I heard Christian's voice say to me again, as I turned my gaze to him.
