LEXI’S POV

I sat in silence long after I woke up the next morning, still thinking of Manny’s words from last night.

I’ll consider it. It wasn’t a yes or a no but it was the closest thing I had to hope in days

I wanted to believe him. I needed to believe him at least for Dexter’s sake and for Wayne, but most of all for me, because if I continued to stay locked in here without anything to look up to, I wasn’t sure what would be left of me when the door finally opened.

A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts and I leapt off the bed, rushing to the door anxiously.

“Who is it?” I asked, stepping back from the door. I probably shouldn’t seem too eager if it was Manny?
