Chapter 4

Mallory's POV:

When I awoke, I found myself lying on a white hospital bed in a white-painted room.

"What am I doing here?" I asked myself as I carefully sat up on the bed and removed the ventilator and medical supplies connected to my nose and hands.

I recalled the eve of my 18th birthday.

"Ace..." I tried to mind-link him, but there was no connection with my mate.

"Ace...." I got down from the hospital bed and saw that I was wearing a white dress.

The dress was loose-fitting, so I rushed out of the room, and a young female nurse and a male doctor stopped me.

"Hey! Where are you rushing to? Come back here!" The female nurse chased after me and caught me by my left arm.

"Let me go!" I cried, wanting to break free from her strong hold. But she held me firmly.

"No... You are sick and were brought here as an outsider. You cannot go anywhere except to the palace for our Alpha to decide your fate," she said, and I pulled my left hand away from hers and glared at her face.

"What's that supposed to mean? Isn't this my father's pack? The Bright Moon Pack?" I demanded, and the female nurse shook her head and replied, "No. You are in the Crescent Moon Pack. This is our pack hospital. You were spotted at the pack's border severely injured two weeks ago, and our warriors brought you here and placed you in a coma. They will soon arrive and take you to our Alpha, once they receive the notification that you are awake. So, you have to cooperate and tell our Alpha the truth about why you were sent away from your old pack. Unless you want to remain a rogue," she said. I looked at her beautiful, fair face with disbelief.

"What?!" I gasped, feeling my whole body trembling at the realization that I had been banished. "Was I truly banished? I thought my father didn't mean any of it," I said, sobbing as tears welled up in my eyes and streamed down my cheeks.

"I'm sorry, but I don't know what happened to you. Come with me," the female nurse gently led me back to my hospital room and ordered me to sit on the bed.

The pack doctor, a young man in a white doctor's coat, white undershirt, black trousers, and shoes, walked into the private room to meet us. As I realized that I was the only patient in the room, since it had a single bed.

"Elena, what's wrong with the patient? Why is she crying?" The tall man asked, standing in front of me as I could not believe that my father had truly banished me.

My father was my everything; how could he banish me on my 18th birthday? I cried, and Nurse Elena said, "I don't know, Doctor. But she said that she was banished from her father's pack. I guessed she is Alpha Bruce's first daughter who was rumored to have caused his first mate's death."

"What? You know my father?" I asked Elena in shock, and she nodded.

"Yes. Who doesn't know your father? He has destroyed several packs and taken over many lands and territories. But he cannot take ours," she said with a proud smile, and the male doctor glared at me and said, "I will be back to check on her. I have to contact Alpha Benson to let him know that the stranger is awake, and she is Alpha Bruce's daughter too."

"Wait, Doctor Chris… Do you think it's best to tell Alpha Benson about her? She is still recovering and cannot be subjected to any punishment or suffering for now. How about you allow her to heal for today, and report to Beta Dennis that she has not woken up yet?" Nurse Elena begged on my behalf, and Dr. Chris glared at her face in disbelief.

"I see you want me banished and to lose my hard work as a doctor for this foreigner. She doesn't belong here, and we cannot trust any stranger from another pack, let alone an Alpha wolf and an Alpha's daughter too," Dr. Chris pointed at me, his voice stern, and my blue eyes widened in shock.

"Wait! What did you say? I am an Omega she-wolf, not an Alpha wolf," I corrected him, even though I knew that he didn't like me.

"Are you seriously kidding me? You are an Alpha wolf with a very strong bloodline in your veins, and you're calling yourself an Omega? Ha ha," Dr. Chris laughed, and he marched up to the hospital bed to meet me.

"Don't think that I got my doctor's license to treat other werewolves for free. I studied about our kinds—werewolves and humans—and I tested your blood to determine the type of werewolf you are. You are a powerful Alpha, so don't tell me that crap again that you are an Omega wolf. And you better not lie to the face of our Alpha. He is not as merciful as you think. Please, excuse me," Dr. Chris glared at me and walked away, and my jaw dropped, upon hearing that I am an Alpha werewolf.

Looking back at Nurse Elena's face, who was kind to me, I said, "I am an Omega since birth, and that was why I was banished from my pack because my father thinks I am weak. I haven't been able to shift, nor am I as powerful as Dr. Chris accused me of."

Peering at Nurse Elena's face with pleading eyes, I waited for her response.

Nurse Elena sighed and said, "Hmm. I don't know what they may have told you in your old pack, but Dr. Chris is very right with his test results. So if he tells you that you are an Alpha and a powerful werewolf, it's best that you believe him. I have to go now and attend to other patients. And what's your name, because I just wrote 'foreigner' on your medical report?"

"My name?" I asked her in shock, and she smiled and nodded.

"Yes. What's your name?" She demanded, and I replied, "Mallory Adonis."

"Alright. Take care, Mallory. I will be back to check on you, and be ready in case the warriors come here to take you to our Alpha," she said, before exiting the hospital room.

I sighed and looked around the room, wondering if I am truly an Alpha wolf or if Dr. Chris was just wrong about my test results.

All my life, I had grown up believing I am an Omega. 'Was it possible that I am an Alpha wolf, and Dr. Chosen from the Bright Moon Pack had lied to my father about my medical report, just to allow my father to marry his only daughter?'

"Mmm…" I frowned and thought about it.
