Samantha's POV

"That's your job, Samantha." I gasped, totally in disbelief and ready to resist. No way was he putting me up to the task. Having to explain to Alaric or asking anything from him? That would bruise my ego.

"No, I can't. He won't want to do it because it's me," I said. He'd probably make me pay for my defiant attitude towards him. What if he made me beg for it?

"You mean Alpha Ric wouldn't care to save his pack however he can just because of a beef with you?" Adam said, making my earlier remark sound ridiculous.
