Isabey was lying on her bed, she closed her eyes to sleep. She wanted to sleep, a peaceful sleep that could set her heart and mind at peace. But no matter how hard she tried, she was unable to forget it. The scene where she saw him, closing his eyes. 'Marcus, why don't you leave me? Why? It's been a year, and why do I feel like you are everywhere? Why do I feel like you are alive? I saw you taking your last breath. I have seen you closing your eyes. Why do I feel a burden on my soul? As I am stuck in the same place where I saw you last time. Why do I feel as if I left a part of my soul there... These nightmares are hunting me, this suffering is worse than anything I ever thought... This is making me crazy. I will go mad.' Isabey closed her eyes to sleep, but she saw the same eyes. His eyes and the pain in his eyes. The blood oozes from his wound. The mark on her neck, it disappeared. It can only mean her mate is dead. 'No, I cannot sleep. I have to go there...' Isabey got up from her bed. She took out her clothes from her wardrobe. She tied her hair in a bun, then put on the black hoodie and jeans, and she tied the laces of her sneakers. Isabey walked towards the door and then opened it carefully. The door opened with a mere creaking sound, and she came outside her room. All the lights of the house were off, it was so quiet. Everyone was sleeping. She moves forward with measured steps so she doesn't wake anyone up. She was sneaking outside like every night. Isabey came downstairs, she went towards the front door and was going to unlock it when someone grabbed her arm. "Isabey, again..." Louis looked towards her face in the dark. He can see the disturbing lines on her forehead. She glares at him. "Where are you going?" He questioned. "Nowhere, I just want to breathe in some fresh air." She lied. "Isabey, don't lie to me. I know you are going to that place again..." He said. "If you know, why bother asking?" She clenched her teeth. "Isabey, how far will it go? Stop behaving like a maniac." He warned her, his grip tightening on her arm. She pulled her arm from his grip roughly. "Don't make me remind you. Did you find my brother? No. He is nowhere to be found. It's been a year, and he was my only family. But in that stupid attack of yours, I lost him. I don't know if he is alive or not... So you'd better find him. If you had done some effort finding him, I wouldn't have been doing this on my own..." She growled, looking in his eyes with rage. " Isabey, that stupid attack made us the strongest werewolf pack in all of history. You are Luna of this pack. This behaviour doesn't suit you at all. I am trying to find Reuben, the warriors are still out looking for him. You don't have to sneak out of the house at midnight like this..." He took a breath then said in a taunting tone. "Or I assume you have other reasons to go to that place." He smirked, looking in her eyes. She was going to say something when a girl came out from behind Louis. " Oh, darling, why did you leave like that? We were having so much fun." She put her hand on his shoulder in a sultry way. Isabey raised an eyebrow. "Lune, right, this pack's Luna because of you, I don't know about Luna, but let me remind you I am the best warrior of this pack, and you know very well what I do with butches like these..." Isabey said disgustedly, looking towards the girl. "And yes have fun Alpha..." She said, then opened the door, moving out of the house. "Isabey..." Louis called her, but she banged the door on his face. She was fuming with anger. It was so cold outside that the cold wind was making her cheeks and nose red. She moved towards the forest. Isabey ran inside the woods at her werewolf speed. She was running and going in one familiar direction she goes every night. She stopped in the middle of the woods, then changed into her wolf form. She again started running towards the claimed territory of Louis, which she remembered as Black Thunder Pack. After the attack, she came back to her senses after two weeks. Isabey remembered the first thing was the mark on her neck fading away, burning like hell. After that, Louis told her that the councilmen came to him, which was the last part of their plan. When Marcus attacked Louis' pack, which showed itself as a peaceful pack in the eyes of the council. Marcus didn't inform the council before doing an attack on Louis' pack, so they got a chance to counterattack. Louis told the councilmen that it was Marcus who started the fight, so he came clean. The territory was gifted to him as a reward for winning a fight. Now, they were not a rogue pack but a very powerful pack living in the werewolf world. Louis has powers, and he killed Marcus, so he was announced as the Alpha King and Isabey as his Luna Queen. Louis has got everything he wanted but for Isabey... Everything changed for her, she didn't feel the same. The urge for power was fulfilled, but the hope for love vanished. Why does she even care about love? Why does she feel a heartache when she remembers those eyes... "Where is Reuben?" She asked Louis. "Isabey, there were so many dead people. Not only theirs, but ours also... All the warriors came back, but I am afraid Reuben was not among them. I sent my warriors to search for his dead body. But they found nothing..." He said. Isabey's eyes widened with terror and shock. "What do you mean? Do you think he is dead? How can you even think like that!" Isabey grabbed him from the collar. Louis moved her hand away. "Isabey, are you gone mad? What is this behaviour?" He didn't care about her state. He snapped. "Louis, it was your responsibility to make sure my brother was fine. How can you be so careless?" She shouted. He put a hand on her mouth then grabbed her from the back of her neck. "Never talk to me in that tone." He growled. She pushed him away. "I will find him." He said, then he moved out of her room in anger. After that day everything changed. The light from her soul was extracted at the time she left her mate; the happiness was drenched away from her life when she betrayed him. The scent of honour was evaded with continuous guilt. She was unable to understand her situation. The continuous guilt was eating her up. She didn't know why she felt like that, but one constant feeling was that Marcus was alive. So, she went to the same place every night to find some unknown clues. She doesn't know the reason for her search, but she wants to find something that could give her peace. Isabey stopped when she reached the place. She took a deep breath, then shifted back into her wolf. Isabey started walking on the barren ground, she saw the burned fence of the training ground that reminded her of the full moon night when she vowed to be a member of this pack when he was singing in front of her, smiling and looking at her with all the love in his eyes. He was looking towards her as she meant the world to him. The burned pack house. Isabey moved towards it when she felt something, a presence. There was someone around here. Isabey turned around and scanned the area. "Who is there?" She called but no reply came. Isabey then started walking back towards the woods. She needed to search the area for anything that could help her find Reuben. She was doing it for a year, but she didn't find anything ever; this place was cleaned as a new slate. There was nothing left here but a burned pack house and some fences on the grounds. Why did she come here? She didn't know, but she feels a little less stressed. She ran in the woods, she ran till the pack borders, checked all the premises, then came back empty-handed. It was her routine. She remains here till dawn, then goes back to the pack. Isabey was going to run in the woods when she again heard something... Someone is here. "Who the hell is there? Come out. Why hide like a rat?" She ordered. Isabey saw a man coming out from one side of the woods. He is a werewolf. Isabey was very calm, and all her attention was on this man. He can be dangerous. He didn't smell like a rogue. "Who are you?" She said loudly, looking towards him, in caution.Isabey woke up suddenly, as if something inside her mind had been violently pulled open. Her body snapped upright in bed without warning, her breath breaking out in sharp, uneven gasps as she tried to understand what had just happened to her. The room of the Omega quarters was quiet, dim, and still, but her body did not feel calm at all, sweat covered her skin, cold and uncomfortable, as if she had been running for hours inside her own mind. Isabeys chest rose and fell rapidly, each breath feeling too much. She pressed her hand against her chest, trying to slow her heartbeat, but it refused to obey her. It was like her body had returned from somewhere her mind could not fully follow. For a few seconds, she just sat there, staring into the darkness of the room, trying to convince herself she was safe. But safety was not what she felt. She was confused and fear consumed her and something deeper… something unfinished. Her throat felt dry, painfully dry, so she reached for the g
The journey back to the pack was silent, no one of them spoke. The warning left behind by the witches hung heavily over everyone. They were not at fault, but their pack was threatened.Marcus walked ahead, his expression unreadable, his mind occupied by countless thoughts. The cold night wind brushed against his face, but he barely felt it.He had only two weeks before something dangerous came for their pack. He had to think of a way to get out of this situation without losing any life.Edwina walked beside him, stealing glances at her husband now and then. The more she thought about everything, the heavier the guilt in her chest became. Jackson looked no better. His jaw remained clenched throughout the entire walk. Reuben noticed it. He noticed the way Jackson's shoulders had stiffened and the way Edwina remained unusually quiet. Both of them were blaming themselves. They finally reached the pack house, Marcus headed directly toward his office. The others followed behind him. The m
"Witches?" He repeated his question, and the guard just nodded his head. Marcus looked towards Edwina. "Marcus, we have to go to the borders..." She said. He nodded his head. "Go, warn Reuben and Jackson, also send Xanthus to others' borders and check the perimeter of the pack," Marcus ordered the guard. The guard left his office. Marcus didn’t waste another second. The moment the guard left the office, he grabbed the black coat that had been resting behind his chair and walked out. His expression had gone cold again, the softness that had existed earlier completely gone.Edwina followed beside him silently. Her heart was still unsettled after everything that had happened that night, but the moment she heard the word 'witches,' all personal emotions disappeared. This was about the pack now.And nothing came before the safety of their people. The corridors of the pack house echoed with hurried footsteps as warriors rushed to prepare themselves. The air itself felt tense.Marcus walk
The night had grown deeper, but Marcus still hadn’t left his office. The candles had nearly burned down, their weak flames casting shadows across the room; yet he remained standing near the window, staring out into the darkness.A knock came at the door. Marcus didn’t turn. “Come in.”The door opened slowly and Edwina stepped inside. The moment Marcus saw her from the corner of his eye, some of the tension inside him eased slightly. She was wearing a light night robe, her hair loose around her shoulders, but her expression carried worry.“You’re still awake,” she said softly. Marcus looked away from the window and exhaled slowly. “I had things to think about.”Edwina stepped further into the room before closing the door behind her. She studied him quietly for a moment.“You’ve been distant ever since you came back from the hospital.” Marcus’s expression hardened slightly. “I’m handling a situation.”“That situation has a name,” Edwina replied quietly. Marcus looked at her then, she ca
Marcus got all the reports from Reuben and Jackson. He sent them away without another word, the door closing behind them with a dull sound that echoed louder than it should have. The room fell silent, heavy and suffocating. He stood there for a moment… unmoving. Then slowly, he walked toward his chair and sat down, leaning back as his hand came up to press against his forehead. His eyes closed, but it didn’t bring him peace. It made everything worse. I thought she was faking it… His jaw tightened. But no… her memory is really gone. A bitter breath escaped him, almost like a scoff, but there was no humor in it.“Why…” he muttered under his breath, his voice low and rough, “why does it hurt me to think that she doesn’t remember?”His fingers curled against the armrest, gripping it tightly. It didn’t make sense. He should have felt relief. He should have felt satisfaction knowing that she had lost everything—her past, her identity, the truth of what she had done. But instead… There was
Isabey sat quietly in the Omega quarters, her back resting lightly against the wooden wall, her eyes moving slowly across the room. The place was simple, far from the comfort of an Alpha house, but she didn’t feel uneasy. Her wounds were all healed thanks to the pack doctor and the nurses who took care of her, the pack's Alpha said someone would come to visit her, she doesn't know who... She was deeply immersed in her thoughts, after she came here she felt the most secure, the little graphs of her memory that came back, she told them to the Alpha. He reassured her that he would help her get her memory back and now there was no fear in her chest and no discomfort in her thoughts.Instead… there was something strange, she looked around again, her fingers brushing against the edge of the small table beside her bed. The faint scent of the pack lingered in the air, and for some reason… it didn’t feel unfamiliar. It felt known not fully because of her memory but somewhere deep inside her,
Edwina was shocked. "But why? Doctor. Why is he blocking his wolf?" She asked. Jackson also gave a questionable look to the Doctor. "Edwina, it can be due to a severe shock. Maybe, he had seen something horrible in the pack. Marcus is an Alpha. He can feel the pain of all the pack members. It can
Alpha Damien, Jackson, Edwina, and Reuben were sitting in the pack office. Reuben can see that Jackson was gritting his teeth. He hates him so much. He felt a fiery stare at him, but he didn't dare look into Jackson's eyes."Reuben, you have to tell us, all about this pack," Edwina said."Ahm..."
(Red Crescent Pack) Jackson wanted to put Reuben in dungeons and torture him to death. However, Alpha Damien didn't allow it. It is his pack. So, Jackson stopped.Edwina told her father that Reuben is Jackson's mate. She didn't want Jack to do anything that he would regret later. She knew that th
The Black Thunder Pack house never felt this tense in years. There was a sadness in the long corridors that usually carried the sounds of warriors moving in and out of meetings. The servants moved carefully through the halls as if afraid to disturb the tension hanging in the air. For the pack mem
