Damien’s POV
The leather chair creaked as I leaned back, my fingers gripping the edge of my desk. The pack call had been going on for nearly an hour, and the tension in the room was palpable. We were discussing territory disputes and strategies to expand our influence. My goal was clear: to secure the largest territory assignment in the upcoming council deliberations led by me, the Lycan Alpha King. This wasn’t just about land—it was about power, respect, and cementing my status as the strongest Alpha in the region. And I can do anything to accomplish and protect it even if I have to spill blood.
“Damien, what’s your next step?” one of the council members on the call asked, breaking my train of thought.
“I’ll handle it,” I said, my voice calm yet commanding. “We’ll increase patrols on the eastern border. Any encroachment will be dealt with swiftly.”
Just as I was about to elaborate, the door to my office was flung open with a loud crash. I looked up, irritation flashing through me, but the sight of Georgia standing there froze me in place.
Her eyes were red-rimmed, but her posture was steel. She held a stack of papers in one hand, her fingers clenched tightly around them.
“Georgia,” I said, my voice lowering. “What are you doing here? I’m in the middle of something important.”
“This won’t take long,” she replied, her tone sharp and unyielding. She stepped forward and placed the papers on my desk with a deliberate thud. “It’s a divorce petition. I need you to sign it.”
I stared at the papers, my mind racing. For a moment, I couldn’t speak. Divorce? My perfect Luna, my fated mate, wanted to leave me?
“Georgia,” I said slowly, standing up. “Let’s not do this right now. Can we talk about this later? I’m in the middle of something—”
“No,” she interrupted, her voice firm. “We’ll talk about it now. You’ve been avoiding this for days, Damien. I won’t let you put it off anymore.”
I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose as I dismissed the pack call with a quick command. The screen went dark, and the room fell silent.
I turned to her, stepping around the desk. “Georgia, I don’t know what you’re thinking, but I can’t sign these.” I said. This isn’t just about my love for her—it’s about the pack, about everything I have built together. This marriage was never about us. It has always been about my ambitions, my politics. She was just a piece on my chessboard.
“I feel nothing for Patricia,” I said, my voice rising slightly. “You’re my Luna, my mate. I love you, Georgia.”
She shook her head, tears welling in her eyes. This wasn’t about love. I know what this marriage really is a political alliance. I needed a strong Luna to consolidate my position as Alpha, and she was convenient. She’s from one of the strongest packs, her father has one of the strongest soldiers. With her as my wife, her father’s pack would belong to me when he dies soonest and her absence will cost me everything I have built for over the years.
“Georgia, listen to me,” I said, stepping closer. “I know things haven’t been perfect, but we can fix this.” I replied. I needed to stop her. If we divorce now, it’ll ruin everything. My standing, our influence—it’ll all crumble.”
She looked away, her jaw tightening. “This isn’t about your love for me, Damien. This is about us. About the fact that you lied to me for years. You fathered a child with Patricia and hid it from me. And all while making me take pills so we wouldn’t have children of our own. How do you expect me to stay in a marriage like that?”
I ran a hand through my hair, frustration boiling inside me. “I made mistakes, I know that. But I did it for us—for the pack. Liam wasn’t supposed to be part of our lives, Georgia. He was a mistake, but he doesn’t change how I feel about you.”
Her gaze snapped back to mine, fire burning in her eyes. “A mistake? He’s your son, Damien. Your flesh and blood. And you called him a mistake. Do you even hear yourself? This isn’t just about the lies—it’s about the kind of man you are.”
“Georgia, please,” I said, my voice softening. “Think about what this will do to the pack. To our future. Everyone is watching us closely. If we fall apart now, I don’t think I’ll ever fall in love and the pack will lose its stability. You don’t want that, do you?”
She shook her head, a tear slipping down her cheek. “You’re not hearing me, Damien. I don’t care about the future. I don’t care about politics. I care about the fact that I can’t trust you. That I don’t feel safe with you anymore.”
My chest tightened as I watched her break before me. “Georgia, I love you. I need you. You’re the only one who can stand by my side, the only one who makes me whole.”
She gave me a sad smile, one filled with exhaustion and heartbreak. “No, Damien. You don’t love me. You love the image of me. The perfect Luna, the perfect wife, the perfect alliance. But that’s not who I am anymore.”
I stepped closer, desperation clawing at my throat. “Please, Georgia. Don’t do this. We can fix it. I’ll do whatever it takes to earn your trust again.”
But she shook her head, her resolve unshaken. “It’s too late, Damien. Some things can’t be fixed. I’ll send someone to collect your signature. Goodbye.”
And with that, she turned and walked out of my office, leaving the papers on my desk.
I stood there, staring at the divorce petition, feeling my carefully constructed world crumble around me. The perfect marriage, the perfect image, the perfect plan—none of it mattered anymore. Without her, it was all meaningless.
Georgia’s POVKael’s s eyes, wild with confusion and fury, locked onto me immediately. Rain clung to his hair, dripping down his face as he rushed toward me. The storm’s howl followed him, the wind whipping through the open door, as the thunderstorm filled the room loudly.“Georgia!” Kael’s voice broke, filled with desperation, as he approached me immediately. His hands found my shoulders, his grip firm as he scanned me for injuries. His eyes landed on the blood trickling down my arm from where Damien’s knife had grazed me, and his face contorted with anguish. “Are you okay? Did he hurt you?”I opened my mouth to answer, but my words caught in my throat. The sight of Kael, soaked and breathless, his love for me etched into every line of his face made my chest ache to see the worries in his eyes. I wanted to tell him I was fine, that I’d handled it, but the truth was, I was shaking from the supernatural power I’d unleashed. Before I could speak, a shadow moved behind us. It was Damien,
Georgia’s POVI am alone in the room at night now while Kael was outside with the few beggars he had helped earlier from another pack. The air in our room felt heavy with cold from the weather and drizzling rain outside. The bed beneath me was lumpy, the mattress doing little to comfort my restless body as I laid under the duvet. I lay there, staring at the ceiling with smiles curving out my lips, my thoughts filled with Kael, my fingers tracing the frayed edges of the quilt as I waited for my husband. I have dressed sexily for him tonight and I am waiting patiently.Thunder rumbled in the distance, sending lightning across the room. The storm was coming and it was the perfect weather for I and Kael. The windows rattled nonstop, the wind sneaking through the opening with a high-pitched whine. I glanced at them. Maybe I should lock them but then, I felt lazy to get up. I pulled the quilt tighter around me, the chill in the air seeping into my bones. Kael had been gone too long. Helpin
Lucy’s POVI traveled alone for some vacation to clear my head from emotional stress and today, I was finally back. The soft hum of the engine faded as the taxi pulled up to the pack estate. I stepped out, tugging my coat around me as the chilled wind nipped at my skin. I had been away for three days. The grand entrance loomed before me as I dragged my suitcase across the driveway. As I pushed open the door, I half-expected Damien to be waiting in the hallway with that cold expression he always wore, ready to question me where I had been. But the foyer was empty. “Mrs. Lucy!” One of the younger maids whom I had told earlier about my travel, rushed over, nearly tripping over her own feet. “I didn’t expect you till nightfall.”I offered a small smile. “Flight got in early. Is Damien in?”The hesitation in her eyes was so brief, I almost missed it. “Where is he?” I asked again, this time more firmly.“He… left days ago,” Miriam said. “With a few men.”“Left?” My brows furrowed. “Wher
Damien’s POVToday has been hectic. Not just today, but other days as well. Meeting upon meetings. Rumors had it that Georgia was in the Lycan kingdom.“Damien,” Marcus, my second-in-command called, his voice cutting through the murmurs of the meeting. “We’ve scoured the western territories. No trace of her. The scouts say the Lycan borders are locked tight. If Georgia’s there, she’s under heavy guard.”I leaned forward, my jaw tight. “Then we hit harder. We don’t stop until we find her. The Lycan King doesn’t get to steal what’s ours. The way he humiliated me years ago…. I can’t forget.”A murmur of agreement rippled through the room, but I caught the doubt in their eyes. They didn’t say it, but I felt it, she might not want to be found. I shoved the thought down, burying it beneath the rage that had kept me awake for weeks. Georgia was mine, my wife, my mate, my luna. No crown, no kingdom, could change that. So whatever I choose to do with her body or presence, that’s on me. The me
Raveena’s POVThe morning sun sliced through my curtains as yesterday’s incident flashed back. I didn't know how I’d slept yesterday while I cried. But now, I woke to a tearful face. My eyes were dull, swollen from crying, and the shattered pieces of my phone still lay scattered across the floor where I’d thrown it last night. Evan’s words echoed in my skull, relentless, each of his words still a fresh wound. ‘I’m getting married tomorrow. To someone else.’I dragged myself out of bed, my limbs heavy, and stumbled to the bathroom. The mirror showed a stranger with pale, hollow-cheeked, dark circles framing eyes that lost happiness. I splashed cold water on my face, hoping it would shock me into feeling something other than this suffocating grief but It didn’t. I got ready for the day and made my way out.Downstairs, the pack house was quieter than last night’s chaos. avoided the main hall, slipping out to the porch instead, needing air, needing space. The pack was already alive, some
Raveena’s POVReaching the pack house, the place was lit up like a festival. A banner fluttered above the entrance, its bold letters glinting CONGRATULATIONS! My jaw dropped. What the hell was going on?I quickened my pace as I approached. Pack members milled about, some spilling onto the lawn with drinks in hand, their faces flushed with joy. I scanned the crowd, my eyes narrowing as I searched for answers.“Karl!” I called, spotting him near the buffet table, his shoulders hunched as he piled food onto a plate. He turned, his easy grin faltering when he saw my stunned expression. “What’s happening?” I gestured at the chaos around us, my voice sharp with confusion. Before he could answer, Leah came over, her auburn curls bouncing as she threw her arms around me, nearly knocking me off balance. “Oh my gosh!” she squealed, her voice bubbling with excitement. “Karl proposed! We’re engaged!” He exclaimed. Not that we were close. Why the sudden friendship now? The way she neared me only
