Chapter 8 - Unwanted Mate

Miracle

“NO!” I screamed, my heart still aching from the agonising pain of rejection. I know he didn’t use the words to reject me, but for some reason, it feels like he is rejecting me.

“Why can’t you recognise me as your mate?” I asked, looking at him with tear-filled eyes.

“I can smell my mate’s scent, and I know it’s not you,” he said, looking at me with his hate-filled eyes. I felt something break inside of me.

“Please,” I pleaded pathetically, looking at him with hopeful eyes, “I swear I am your mate. She is not,” I added as tears rolled down my cheeks. “I am sure Malia has tricked you. She can’t be your mate, please, please trust me.” I begged for my mate to listen to me.

“Why are you so hell bent on proving that I am trying to steal your mate?” Malia asked. For the first time, she looked pitiful, and I knew it was all an act. She was desperately trying to prove in front of everyone that I was trying to frame her.

“How can you even have a mate? Even if you do, how can you identify who your mate is? You don’t have a wolf. You won’t know until your mate identifies you,” she continued.

She looked at me with narrowed eyes; I knew she was trying to figure out how I knew about Alpha Jake being my mate. I was panicking inside, trying not to blow my cover. I couldn’t let her find out about Mia. I had to protect her at all costs, and for that, I had to lie.

“I may not have a wolf, but I still have werewolf senses. I can smell his scent, and I know the strongest scent we could smell is our mate’s scent. I am sure he is my mate because his scent is the strongest I smell.” I replied. I just prayed to the Moon Goddess that she would help me and they believed me.

“That still doesn’t mean I am your mate.” Alpha Jake growled at me. I jumped in my seat. I wasn’t expecting for him to snap at me.

“I promise, you are my mate. I am sure. I know she has messed with our bond. Please believe me.” I said, trying to convince my mate. My heart is shattering with each passing second.

“SHUT UP!” He growled angrily, wrapping his arms around Malia as she faked a cry. “If I hear you say another word against my mate, I swear I am going to throw you in the dungeon.” He yelled. His words made my blood run cold. He wouldn’t do that to me, would he? I am his mate. How can he not recognize me?

“I—” I started, trying to defend myself, but dad’s loud growl stopped me.

“I am going to rip your head off if you say another word.” He growled, making me freeze in my seat. Why is everyone making me look like a criminal? It’s Malia who is wrong here, but they are all supporting her instead of me.

“Have you not brought enough shame to our family already? You not only are weak but don’t have a wolf, and you expect Alpha Jake to take you as your mate? Are you so desperate that you are willing to break your sister’s bond?” He growled at me, making me flinch. It wasn’t his growl that affected me, it was his words that hurt me the most.

“How pathetic? You want to fool me and break my bond with my true mate? You must be delusional. Even if you were my mate, I would have rejected the moment I laid my eyes on you. I would never take a weak wolf-less girl to be Luna.” My mate’s words pierced through my heart, and this time, the pain of rejection was real.

I never thought my mate would reject me. That is not what I heard about mates. My mate was supposed to be there for me, and save me from this hell of a life I have. Instead, I was cheated by my sister again, and that led to me remaining mateless for life.

Why did the Moon Goddess hate me so much?

What did I ever do to offend her?

What was my fault in all of this?

These questions swamped in my head. I have had them for a while now, but there was no answer to any of them. I couldn’t bring myself to stay in that room anymore. I did not miss the disgusted look on my mate’s face, the disappointment on mom and dad’s face, and the victorious smirk on Malia’s face as I left the room.

—--------------

I don’t know how long it has been; I have been at the meadow for a few hours as I stared in the distance. I didn’t want to be surrounded by those mean wolves. I knew Malia wouldn’t stop for a second and spread the news about me trying to steal her mate in the whole pack.

I wanted to scream and tell everyone about Malia. I wanted everyone to know how evil she was, and how she had played with my mate bond. Maybe if I tell everyone the truth and expose Malia, then they will support me?

I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a twig snap. I turned around, alert to find whoever was here. Rogue attacks in the packs were very common nowadays, and you would never know when a rogue sneaks in to attack you.

The sound of crunching dried leaves made me aware that someone was walking towards me in human form. The scent smelt familiar, and soon I recognized the scent of the intruder. I looked up, coming face to face with Malia. She had a huge smirk on her face.

“Aww, lil sis, are trying to run away?” she asked, looking at me with an annoying pout on her face. I turned away, not wanting to engage in another conversation with her.

“It’s rude to not answer your sister. I know mom and dad taught us well.” She said, trying to get my attention.

“Oh Miracle, are you angry that Jake didn’t accept you as his mate?” She asked, making me glare at her.

“Ah! So you’re angry?” she asked, laughing at me. I had enough of her and I couldn’t bear it anymore.

“What do you want, Malia? Are you not satisfied with what you have done?” I asked through my teeth.

To say I was angry was an understatement. Why was she not punished for playing around with my mate bond? Why was she not punished when she abused me by using silver and bringing a witch on my birthday to take my powers? Why? Why was she allowed to make mistakes and still no one cared enough to stop her? Why was I punished for mistakes that I never made? Why?

“Oh, my poor little sister, I know you are pissed, but you can’t do anything. I just had to ask the witch to do a minor spell, and you know the results.” She replied, laughing at me cruelly.

“You don’t deserve to be a Luna. I always knew you would be mated to an Alpha, and it was most likely to be Alpha Jake because it is rare for us to find mates outside the pack.” She continued, gloating about how she could do anything she wanted and no one could stop her.

“I feel so bad for you. It’s sad that you would be left to die alone, and believe me, no one in this pack would care if you died.” She said, as she continued to laugh.

“I am going to tell everyone about you,” I whispered. My voice was low, but still enough to reach her ears. She stopped laughing, froze for a second before she looked at me with an angry expression.

“What did you say?” She asked. I could see her seething in anger, but I didn’t care. I wanted to stand up for myself, even if it was only for once.

“You heard me, I will expose you in front of everyone.” I replied, feeling a little confident that I could do it.

“You think?” She said as a creepy, evil smile appeared on her face. Her hands disappeared in her pockets as she approached me.

Before I could even realize what was happening, I saw her attacking me with a silver dagger. It slashed through my arm, making me scream out in pain. She went to attack again, but I stopped her before she could hurt me again.

However, I knew I wouldn’t be able to fight her for a long time; she was stronger than me, but I did my absolute best. While we wrestled with each other, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching in our direction. I breathed a sigh of relief, but it was short-lived.

Malia held my hand in a tight grip, bringing it forward, slashing her hand with the silver dagger. She then pushed the dagger in my hand before crying out in pain, asking me to not hurt her.

“What are you doing?” I asked, trying to free myself, but she didn’t let me go.

“If it is my mate you want, I will leave Jake for you, but please don’t do this Miracle.” She cried. My eyes widened in fear when I saw Alpha Jake and a few warriors standing a few steps looking at me with anger.

Alpha Jake came forward, pulling Malia in his arms as he pushed me to the ground. I cried in pain when I fell on my wounded arm.

“Take her to the dungeon. I will punish her for hurting my mate in front of the entire pack.” He ordered. I cried, begging him to listen to me, but he didn’t. He turned away as he walked with Malia in his arms, as she smirked evilly while they dragged me to the dungeon.

Proof reading is needed and the story is being dragged out. I agree with Melissa Wilson…I also find it hard to believe that everyone in the pack is brainless ...

Miracle “Are you sure about that?” I jumped at the sweet voice that filled my ears and I turned to see who was intruding on my peace with Mia. In front of me stood a beautiful woman. I have seen no one as beautiful as her. She was a tall woman with a milky white skin. Her platinum blonde hair flew around her as she looked at me with a sweet, gentle smile on her face that enhanced her unique violet coloured eyes. “Are you sure you don’t want to talk about your mate?” The sound of her voice broke my trance, and I blinked my eyes, trying to focus. If I was really in heaven, then she must be an angel. “Yes, I don’t want to talk about him.” I mumbled, but I was sure she heard me. She walked towards me and patted my head, looking at me with the same smile on her face. “You don’t mean that, child.” She said, and I scoffed at her in response. It was creepy enough that she was listening in on our conversation, and now she wants to get

Miracle I could hear voices in the distance, but they seemed to be far away. My eyes felt heavy, like I have been sleeping for years, yet I felt exhausted. I tried to focus on the murmuring voices, but failed to make sense of anything. I wanted to open my eyes, but I couldn’t move my eyelids. I tried to force my eyes open, but I failed no matter how hard I tried. I sighed tiredly before forcing myself to open my eyes. After what seemed like forever, I could finally open my eyes, only to find myself surrounded by darkness. I blinked my eyes, trying to adjust my sight to the darkness. Slowly, my vision got used to the darkness, and I desperately tried to look around to find out where I was. I sat on the ground, trying to hear the voices from earlier. But all I got was silence. There were no more whispering voices that I had woken up to. I was confused. I didn’t know or understood what was happening anymore. Mia was silent when I called

Christopher “Who are they?” Esmeralda’s voice had a stern, angry edge as her eyes glowed green once again. I looked at her, confused at her sudden anger, alarmed. I knew then and there, something was terribly wrong. “What’s wrong?” I asked, almost instantly. “Who are they?” She asked again. “They are Miracle’s family.” I replied. Her body visibly relaxed as her eyes returned to their normal colour. She frowned, looking at them, still not saying anything as she observed them. “Can someone tell me what is happening?” My attention snapped to Miracle’s father, John. He looked older than his age, but something was off about them. My senses were on high alert. I sniffed the air, and almost immediately, a growl left my lips. Why the hell did they smell like rogues? “Toby?” I turned to look at my Beta. He knew what I wanted to know without even asking the question. He sighed, and I hated that I had tired him out. I made a mental note to give h

Christopher “I wasn’t talking about that ritual and spell. Someone cast another spell on her, and it was from years ago.” Esmeralda’s words shocked everyone in the room. What the hell is going on with Miracle? How much has she suffered over the years? “What do you mean?” I growled. She glared at me, rolling her eyes at my obvious anger. I was getting anxious with each passing second, and didn’t like the uneasy feeling. “Stop growling at me. You might be an Alpha, but I am not one of your pack members to bow down to you. I am only answerable to the council. I am here to help you, and you need to show me respect. If you can’t respect me just because you hate my kind, then I will take my leave.” Her eyes glowed a bright green as she spoke to me in a stern voice. “I might be a witch, but I am not one of them.” She spoke in an angry tone. I decided it was best for me to shut up. I didn't mean to growl at her. I was just upset with the fact that Miracle had

  • Alpha's Unloved Luna   Chapter 24 - Blessed And Spelled

Christopher I have been waiting for what looks like hours, and there is no sign of any elder arriving with the healer. I was getting impatient. We did not have so much time to waste waiting for them. They knew how critical Miracle was, yet they were not taking things seriously. My mind kept playing the events of the day I found out Miracle was my second chance mate. The doctor's words echoed in my head. I wonder if everything that happened on that day was somehow related to what the doctor found out, but I wouldn’t know until the fucking healer arrives. ‘You are going to have to kill the healer for keeping us waiting.’ Trent growled in my head and I sighed audibly. ‘Don’t be reckless Trent, we need the healer to check and treat Miracle.’ I replied, trying to calm him down. ‘Trent, we don’t want Miracle to suffer anymore than what she has already been through. You need to stay calm.’ It was important for us to leave our Alpha ego aside and think calmly

  • Alpha's Unloved Luna   Chapter 23 - Different Blood

Christopher I felt relieved when the doctor informed me that my blood helped them keep Miracle stable. However, it didn’t help her much with the healing process. It has been over a day and there is no sign of her waking up. The pack doctor ran a lot of tests to check what was happening with her. So far, he hasn’t been able to figure anything out. We are waiting for the latest test results, and the doctor said we might need to call for a healer. I had requested the council members to bring a healer. They were the only ones who could bring in a healer we could trust. Considering this was my mate, and Luna, the council was quick to accept my request. We were waiting for them to arrive. We are expecting their arrival today, but what has me worried is there was no update from Toby. I haven’t heard from him ever since he left yesterday. I was wondering what could possibly take him so long to just get Miracle’s family. Did they refuse to return with Toby? Th
