Chapter 17

Gabriel and I got into a heated argument after the training session. He keeps bothering me, and I can’t keep my cool. I gave him a piece of my mind . Aiden and Nathan came on the scene to cool things off. Aiden warned Gabriel to stay in his limits, and Gabriel was mad at him. If it wasn't for Nathan and Mark to handle it, they would have ended up beating each other to pulp.

"Kim, should we head back to the pack if he is bothering you too much? " Aiden asked for the nth time since we came here.

"After 3 days, we are going back anyway. I'll try to stay far away from that man. You don't have to worry about it . I can manage. I can beat him if necessary. " I chuckled.

"You sure will." Aiden said with amusement.

"Aiden, you need to come with me. I have something urgent to discuss with you. I got a call from the officials ." Nathan said.

"Is it something serious? Is everything alright in the pack?" I asked with worry.

"Everything is under control, Kim. Just usual, pack business, nothing to worry about. Otherwise, I would have discussed it with you." Nathan answered me.

As both of the left, I sat on the bench, feeling the cool breeze hitting my face. The garden of the packhouse is beautiful , with numerous flowers. The scent of flowers mixed in the air, it's so soothing.

"Kimberly, why are you doing this?"

Oh god! These Carnby brothers can't leave me alone for a second. Yet another episode of their drama. Gabriel Carnby and Mark Carnby, both dickheads loves getting on my nerves.

"I'm already pissed with your brother, Mark. I have no energy to deal with your drama. Go away." I didn’t even bother to look back at him. I'm exhausted. I can sense him sitting beside me, and I shifted to the far away.

"I never offered you a seat beside me." I said with irritation. He remained in his seat, unfazed.

"I'm asking again. Why are you doing this, Kimberly?" He muttered.

"Don’t you remember the shit you did to me, or are you perhaps faking an amnesia ?"

"I have never forgotten what I did to you. And with time, I realized how wrong I was, and I don't deserve you. But right now, I'm not talking about myself but my brother. I did wrong to you, but why are you punishing my brother?" He asked.

"Your brother ain't a Saint like you think. Did he send you here to be his spokesperson? " I stated.

"Nobody sent me, I'm here on my own will. Because I can't tolerate the way you are hurting and disrespecting my brother every day. You know that nobody dares to treat him that way. You have known him for years. The reputation of the beast he had. But he is still handling your tantrums calmly, never once he hurted you for disrespecting him. You know how egoistic Alpha wolves are." He said.

"What do you expect from me? To go and bow to his feet and beg him to accept me as his mate. He chose his powers over me . He chose his reputation over me. I was weak in his eyes. If you don’t want me to disrespect your brother, you can tell him to keep his distance from me." I snapped at him.

"He never chose any of it." He whispered.

"What?"

"He never chose power over you. You are not aware of it because you fled that night. If you had waited till the morning, you would have known my brother's real side."

"I have already seen his real side. He is a beast. Even worse than I ever imagined."

"He is a beast to the world . But not for you. The only reason my brother stayed silent that night was because he knew the pack was not ready to accept you as his Luna. He couldn’t trade you away for the pack's sake either. So.." He took a pause.

"My brother chose to trade the throne for you. "

"What the hell!" I couldn't believe what he just said.

"Yes, my brother came to me that night and offered me the title. He told me that if he can't make you his Luna, he doesn't want to remain Alpha because he can't let go of you. He believed even though I'm a dickhead in my personal life, I would be a great leader to the pack. " He said.

"You are lying, Mark." I frowned at him.

"I'm not. My brother chose his mate over his title. That's when I realized how much of a fool I was. I couldn’t keep it in my pants for your sake, and he was ready to strip down his title. He is the one who deserves you, not me."

I was staring at him with shock.

" He talked to our parents about his decision. But the next morning, when he went to talk to you, it was too late. You were already gone. Lara told us that she saw you leaving the pack. My brother has been searching for you since then. He contacted each and every pack asking about you. Moon Valley pack didn't share the information about you. We'll never forgive Aiden for that." He said with a hard look.

"No one in the Moon Valley knew that I was a part of Silver Claw. Anyway It is a great story, Mark. But don't think that I believe a single word of what you have said."
