Amber’s point of view

He looks so much like his dad, I thought to herself while watching Elias play.

People often stared at her son, because he didn’t resemble her boyfriend Brian. When they moved to the Crimson Moon pack, only a handful of people knew who Elias' real dad was.

Alpha Drake was a fair Alpha, one of a few words but he always made the right choices. His pack respected him more than they feared him. Alpha Drake was the one who told me to keep the identity of Elias’s father to ourselves.

I still noticed some pack members wonder about how Elias got his looks. How could they not, Elias had my curls and caramel skin. But his eyes were bright blue and his hair wasn’t raven like mine, but almost gold. Brian was short and very average build, with brown eyes and a mousy grayish hair color. While Elias was already the tallest in class at 5 years old.

Our life was okay, we had a house and I worked as an omega at the Alpha’s mansion. Elias was in school and so happy learning and training. Training started as soon as they could walk, but it was mostly playing and learning to use your body to defend yourself. When the kids were ten the real training started and at sixteen most of the students could help when an attack occurred. Which luckily wasn’t often.

Brian and I chose this pack on purpose, we all wanted to feel safe again after what happened at our previous pack. Brian lost his mate during a rogue attack at our last pack, they had just marked each other the month before and they were still in the honey moon phase. Losing your mate feels like losing half of your soul, I can’t even imagine how much it hurts. That’s why I sometimes ignore his drinking or insults or the smell of other women on his skin. We all deal with pain in our own way.

We have a relationship based on necessity, not one on love. He needs someone to help him with chores and to take care of him when he’s too depresses to eat or get out of bed. And I need someone to pretend to be Elias’s dad so we avoid any danger.

At least we all feel safe under Alpha Drake, I even started training and gaining some muscles. Women weren’t allowed to train at the previous pack we lived in. Brian’s mate was not able to defend herself when the rogues attacked her and he doesn’t want that to happen to me or Elias.

Elias was not born yet when I met Brian, we both were in a very bad place. I was homeless and living in the abandoned shed in the forest, searching through the trash at night for things to eat. That’s when Brian saw me. We never interacted much before, but he went to school with one of my older brothers.

I am the youngest in a family of six and some of my older sibling had already found their mate and had moved our by the time I was born. My parents weren’t that excited to have another pup, most of their kids were grown and they were looking forward to an empty nest. They weren’t horrible parents, but they didn’t show much interest in my life.

My older sister Claire took care of me until she found her mate in a neighboring pack. Luckily by then, I was old enough to make my own meals and do my own laundry. My parents only started to care when they noticed my growing bump and they could smell the pup inside.

They kicked me out when I refused to mention who the father was. They were already unhappy having to care for me, but the thought of another baby in their house made them loath me. They made it clear, I could either live with the wolf who impregnated me or I could live on the in forest by myself. They wanted no contact with me ever again, I was a disappointment in their eyes who should have saved herself for her mate. A child they should have never have had, a mistake.

Brian’s point of view:

When I found Amber I was so depressed, I was looking for a way out. Any way out, even suicide had crossed my mind. I was aimlessly walking around trying to find any way to ease the pain when I smelled her.

When I saw Amber I notice she was pregnant. I couldn’t just leave her there, but living at our pack was too painful. Everything reminded me of Susan. When that rogue attacked Susan, I could feel her pain and after a few minutes, I couldn’t feel the bond anymore. The most excruciating pain filled my heart and I cried out for her.

Every night since then I wake up reliving this moment, waking up in cold sweats and remembering she is gone. So I walk at night, to avoid the pain and memories that haunt me. I had no sense of future, no plans without Susan.

But suddenly, there was Amber, I knew she was the baby sister of a classmate of mine back in high-school. He wasn’t my friend, but he wasn’t unkind to me like so many others.

Suddenly a plan came to mind, I could leave and take Amber with me. I had a much better chance of finding another pack to take me in when I had a pregnant girlfriend. I knew she would accept the offer, anything was better than how she was currently living. We could help each other. Suddenly my heart hurt a tiny bit less, I could have a future. I could have a purpose.

Amber pov:

When Brian offered me a way out I took it with both hands. I instinctively knew he wouldn’t hurt me, honestly he looked so distraught and tired that he couldn’t hurt me even if he wanted to. And I needed a better life for my pup. We asked a few packs in another county. We didn’t want to stay too close to our pack, the further away the better.

When Alpha Drake accepted us we were both so relieved. Brian and I left in the dead of night, we didn’t know what Alpha Alistair would do. Where Alpha Drake had the respect of his pack, Alpha Alistair had fear. No-one dared to go against their Alpha, his cruelty was known throughout the werewolf community and his ways of punishment were infamous.

Women were expected to behave and obey their mates, to be seen not heard. Alpha Drake had always hated Alpha Alistair, so the idea of having two of his members change pack intrigued him, I suppose. Maybe he thought we could provide information on his enemy pack.

  • Alpha's secret love child    Chapter seventy-two

Amber’s pov The End It’s has been five years now, since Axel was kidnapped by Beatrix. There have been some minor setbacks, but we’ve mostly been able to come to an agreement with the witches. Some of the witches of Willa’s coven have even helped us throughout the years, by protecting our borders and offering healing salve for our member’s who aren’t eighteen yet. I love how Axel has kept his principles through all this, even though he was met with so much resistance from the werewolves in the beginning. It’s hard changing people’s mind, when they are so used to their prejudices. But Axel had done it before, by changing his pack to be more inclusive. Hunter is almost six years now and he is such a fun kid. Very outgoing and loves to be outside. He loves to play with his sister and baby brother. Yeah, you can say Axel and I have been busy. Our four year old Charlotte is really smart and loves to chase her brother around the room. Our baby is just three months old now, we named him De

Axel’s pov I woke up and checked the time, crap the trial had already started! I must have been tired from being injured, plus this morning didn’t help. Although I wouldn’t take it back for the world. Being with Amber was always worth it. I quickly got dressed and brushed my teeth. Luckily the courthouse was next to the hotel we were staying at. I mindlinked Amber while I was getting ready, “did I miss everything?” She summarized the morning for me, “Alpha Ivar blamed Finley for everything, saying he was under her spell. People were gasping when they heard she was a witch. He even knew about her trying to kill Elias. Then I testified and told them everything that happened that day. And that I had forgiven Finley after she had saved yours and my live.” I interrupted,“you forgive her?” Amber laughed, “is that so hard to believe? I am not forgetting what happened, but I need to forgive her for Finley and Elias to be able to move forward. I want to be a part of their lives, if Finley

Amber’s pov We waited in Beatrix’s house, trusting Elias was doing his best to stop a fight from happening between us. Zoey and Matt were getting restless and Axel was getting his strength back and sitting up right. I felt guilty for assuming Finley was betraying me so easily. It didn’t take long for me to go back to mistrusting her, even after she had saved me from Alpha Ivar. It had been too hard for me to think about forgiving Finley for hurting Elias. “But hasn’t she done enough to prove she has changed? Finley saved you and now she saved Axel, without any regards for her own life. Do you really want to stand in the way of Elias being with his mate?” Ripley asked me. “You are thinking about Finley and Elias aren’t you?” Axel mindlinked me. “How could the Moon Goddess choose someone who had hurt him so deeply?” I replied. Axel told me what had happened in the house, how angry and hurt Finley was by her grandmother. “You don’t understand Amber, I don’t think she had much of a c

Axel’s pov I woke up tied up next to Omar in a small house. An older woman was standing in front of us. She wasn’t looking at us, but at someone else who had entered the house. I couldn’t turn my head enough to look at her, my whole body felt weak. But I recognized the voice from somewhere. “Jade you came back” the old lady said. “My name is Finley and I am not here for you grandma. I am here to get Alpha Axel and his gamma back.” That’s why I recognized the voice, it was Finley so that meant the old woman was Beatrix. I tried to talk, but my body was to weak. Beatrix walked to Omar and grabbed the iron chains around his arms. She pulled him by the chains to the middle of the room. She was strong for an old woman. I tried to turn my head again, this time slowly and I could see Beatrix and Finley standing over Omar. Finley wasn’t dressed and had probably just shifted back. “What are you doing Grandma? Just let them go, we can talk about this.” Beatrix started to laugh, “talk about

  • Alpha's secret love child    Chapter sixty-eight

Amber’s pov I had just arrived at the location of the courthouse and was greeted by Elias, Zoey and Finley. Finley and Elias both looked tense and like they needed a good night’s sleep. Preferably not together, because I still didn’t fully trust Finley. Her hair had grown over the last few months and she had put on some weight, but her face still showed how much she had gone through. “Hi mama, are you ready for the trial?” Elias asked me as he gave me a hug. I had mindlinked Axel on the way over and he had told me about the fires, which still had me worried. “Actually I’ve been busy stressing over your father on the drive over. He’s taking too much on. There was a fire in the forest and now he is tracking the source in the woods with Omar. He has people who can handle that, but he always wants to be hands on” I told Elias. Elias laughed, “just like you mama. It’s not like you ever sat back and let other people handle anything.” I frowned and playfully hit Elias on the arm. He was

  • Alpha's secret love child    Chapter sixty-seven

Axel’s pov’ Amber was right, we did need to prepare for the worst. So I contacted every ally and let them know to up their security. I told them there was a group of witches that had plans to potentially hurt werewolves, but that not all of the witches were bad. That last part was tough for most Alpha’s to except. Witches had always been our enemies and even when I explained about dark and white magic, they still didn’t trust any of them. “The only witch I trust is a dead witch,” was one Alpha’s remark. I understood where they were coming from. Our ancestors had fought against witches for years, but I truly believed you couldn’t just assume every witch was evil by default. There are bad witches, bad werewolves and bad humans. But that means there must also be good witches. I believed Willa when we talked and she had done nothing to help me. I would much rather have a friend than an enemy, but I was pretty mild tempered for an Alpha. I think that’s what Amber liked about me, but it
