"Welcome back, Rusco!" I look at the little girl who open the door with enthusiasm in her voice, but immediately step back as she finally realized my presence.

"Thank you, lady Charlotte. Why you're still awake?" Even though, Mr. Rusco is already old man and look a bit Rough, the gentleness in his voice is still there for the little girl.

"Ah... Hmm, I'm afraid to sleep alone. I'm waiting for you to keep me accompany, please read some story, Rusco!" Her voice is cute while pleadingly.

Soft chuckle scape from Mr. Rusco mouth, "sorry my lady, but your father already warn me not to spoil you. You'll be six year old two weeks from now, he clearly said you should learn to do everything on your own." He explain carefully.

I see the the glimpse of disappointed in her eyes, "but, I'm afraid to sleep alone, Rusco. I-I can eat and clean my self alone, but sleeping... What if those monster comeback and kill me?" She started to trembling.

Mr. Rusco cupped her face, "my lady, please calm down. That's not going to happened again, you have your father's protection. You also have me and his men, we will never let anyone to hurt you."

Her eyes started to become glassy as she blink repeatedly, "b-but, father is always busy... I-if I ask him to stay, he only frown at me and always say to wait obediently." Her lips trembling, suppressing the her sobs.

"You won't be alone, she will be with you everyday." Mr. Rusco pointed at me, "this woman will take care of you."

"R-really?" She sniffles and look at with amusement in her eyes, "are you going to keep me accompany everyday? Will you play with me?"

She step-forward toward me, as if she already forgotten how she distance herself esrlier. I look at Mr. Rusco, is this the reason why he brought me?

"You will be her nanny, if the boss approved." He said while caressing the little girl's hair. "My lady, let me guide you to your room. I'll accompany you one last time, it'll be our secret to your dad."

"Yay! You're the best, Rusco. Thank you!" She even raised her hands in the air like winning the best prize. Mr. Rusco nodded at me like he's telling that he'll leave me for now.

I watched them to the stairs, the little girl keep talking and Mr. Rusco give his full attention to her. There's a warm feeling inside of my chest, she's lucky.

"Why don't you clean yourself first and change your clothes, let me guide you to your temporary room." A woman, same age with Mr. Rusco approach me. But unlike Mr. Rusco who seems friendly, she look at me with hostility.

I silently Walk behind her, only the sound of her shoes breaking the deafening silence.

"Where did you came from?" She stopped in front of a door and look at me from head to toe, as if checking if she can trust me.

"F-from the r-rundown pl-place." I don't know exactly what that's place, I—forgot what is really like.

Her eyes quiver, but didn't say anything after. As if lost all her interest to know about me.

"This will be your temporary room, the master will be back tonight or tomorrow. He will decide if you can stay here or not."

"B-but Mr.R-Rusco already brought m-me..." For hundred million dollars.

"Yes, but it doesn't mean you can stay beside lady Charlotte easily. There still other job waiting for you if he doesn't want you to be his daughter's nanny." She explain carefully even though she doesn't like me...

I open my mouth but she waved her hand as if telling me the topic is done, I pressed my lips together and just nodded.

I look around, the room is too big for me. My eyes started to heat up, I want to cry. Somehow, it overwhelm me.

She left without goodbye, maybe she really does not want to interact at me too much since she didn't trust my presence being here.

The design of the room is simple, with one bulb light in the ceiling while there is single wooden bed with small wooden table and chair on the side. The wall is color brown which really suited since the bed, table and chair goes with the same color.

I'd never had a bed, only a small blanket on the floor. But here, the bed is soft, softer than the bread my mother always gave me.

I slowly sat down and feel a bit guilty, I feel like I'll dirt it. The blanket is too clean and smell good...

But the curiosity to know what is the feeling lying down to a soft mattress wins through my head, I gradually throw my body in the bed.

It's so nice, the warm of the bed crawling through my entire body, I almost forgot the hard and cold floor where I always sleep every night.

The scent of detergent making me feel lighter, I blink repeatedly to stop my sleep to falling asleep.

But the exhaustion took over, my eyes become heavy.

The sound of soft knock outside the door woke me up, my eyes is still heavy. I think all the night when I can't sleep and the exhaustion from everything comeback rushing to me now, and I only feel it all just now.

"M-Mr. Rusco?" I ask, my voice is rasps. I clear my throat, it feel so dry.

"The master wants to meet you, please get ready. I also brought you the clothes, can I open the door?" He asks politely.

I jump out of the bed rushing to the door and open it, "t-thank you, M-Mr. Rusco." I try to smile, but when I did it, I feel like Mr. Rusco was a bit shock.

He handed me the clothes and smile back, "I will wait you outside, hurry." He said before closing the door.

I feel like my heart want to jump out of my chest from the nervousness I'm feeling right now, I also got the feeling that my intestines is being squished.

I'm walking behind Mr. Rusco toward the unfamiliar corridor, based on what I heard earlier, his office on the east side of the mansion.

"He will only asks you a few question, you don't need to be nervous." Mr. Rusco said as if trying to calm me down, "also, if you can do something about your scent..."

I flinched, "s-scent?"
