Violet's POV

"Can you keep a secret?"

"Sure." Ezekiel responded, pulling a chair to himself. "What's the secret?"

"I want to make you work in my district without Simon finding out. Do you promise to stay within the rooms I limit you to?" I answered.

"Sure. That'll be a great honor, I promise," Ezekiel said, his tone laced with desperation. He wanted to get back on his feet so quickly. I knew he's got it in mind to ask if I could help him restore his pack, but the words felt too heavy on his lips.

I shook his hands and a bright smile shone on my lips. "You got the job. Work within this room only. I'll notify you if Simon is coming over and then you can hide somewhere."

"Sure. That's a good idea. Thank you so much, Miss Violet. I don't take this for granted." He said. I shook my head in awe. Ezekiel being so lowly? It was both weird and exciting to witness him in his low profile.
