Ezekiel's POV

"I'm dying. I'll make a request and you'll grant it before I pass away," Father said, his eyes closing up already.

"What request do you wish to make at this very old age?" I scoffed. He wasn't the best father in his prime or old age, and he didn't fully deserve my attention.

He chose Kira from the rival pack to be my Luna, and that was the legendary beginning of confusion in my life. She never got pregnant, and when she did, the fetus wasn't even mine. He taught me how to hate Violet and made sure she wasn't found anymore.

Each time I looked at him, I remembered how he kicked her out of the pack and erased her name from the wolf's tree.

"Make sure to keep Violet safe no matter what. If anyone else would die, let them die," Father said, and then stopped breathing before I could ask him why.

Why was he trying to change his mind now? All through the years, he'd shown strong hatred for Violet, and now he was making a request for me to keep her safe no matter what.
