Violet's POV
I sniffled, a tear slipping down my cheek beneath the base of the oak tree, when I noticed heavy footsteps approaching quickly. His deep blue eyes flickered with rage as he caught sight of me crying. He reached me in time, gripping my chin. “Who did this to you?” Tears continued streaming down my cheeks. I had no words to utter. The memory of being nearly raped rushed back into my mind, and my lips felt too heavy to speak. The tears said what I couldn’t. He looked furious like he would snap Owen’s neck and anyone else involved in hurting me. But I dared not mention anything close to the truth. “I escaped a rogue attack and fell on stumps, which bruised my face,” I said, silently praising myself for the quick lie. His hands slowly reached for my face, gently lifting my chin, and I felt everything closing in around me. His deep blue eyes pierced mine, and my heart began to beat faster. It felt like he was punishing me with his gaze. I couldn't read his mind. I stared at him for several seconds before he finally spoke. He was an Alpha, and I was just an Omega who was too weak to fight off a rogue. Surely, he was here to reject me. At least, I thought, he’s decent enough to let my tears dry first. I shut my eyes, bracing myself for the inevitable. "Aren’t you the girl that works at the canteen?" He asked. My heart flushed with a strange mix of shock and pleasure. I didn’t know how to respond. I could only nod. Hell yeah. Reject me without thinking too hard. I know I’m not good enough for you. “You were staring at me… something tells me you wanted to talk,” he said, a faint smirk curling on his lips while my gaze remained lowered. He had noticed me. He’d seen all those stares I thought I’d hidden. “I… I don’t have anything to say, Alpha,” I finally whispered, using his title for the first time. I noticed a flicker of frustration on his face. Maybe he wasn’t the spoiled father’s boy I’d always assumed he was. Maybe I was wrong. I couldn’t bring up the canteen stares, let alone the mate bond. That was too heavy for my lips. His presence, his voice, his title...everything about him felt overwhelmingly superior. His gentle hands rested on my arms as he lifted my chin again, locking his gaze with mine and my chest pounded. “You’re trying to look at me,” he said softly. “I’m not stopping you.” His scent filled my nose as he spoke. It felt like every kind word from him strengthened my wolf. Maybe, just maybe, I was still worth something. I took the risk and held the eye contact. It was overwhelming and consuming. My tears had dried, but now his hands were on me, sending electric waves through my spine. “What’s your name?” He asked, finally letting go of my shoulders. “I’ve seen you around, not just in the canteen. I’ve been meaning to ask.” “Violet,” We said at the same time. I couldn’t help but chuckle. He knew my name and wanted us to say it together. A blush crept across my cheeks. He smiled too. Did this mean he liked me? Did he want to claim me, or at least keep me close, even if not as a mate? Could this be the end of the trauma with Owen? “I just returned to the pack a few days ago. And let’s just say… I now know why I came back,” he said. I remained silent. His words filled the air with that heavy scent again. He paused, not from a lack of confidence, but as though he was holding back, trying not to push too far. "Um, Violet, do you have an off day tomorrow?" “I’m… I don’t think so,” I muttered, biting my lip, trying to read where this was going. “You have a day off tomorrow,” he said with certainty. “I’d love to have you in my room tonight. What’s the price?” His gaze trailed over me, and all of his Playboy aura hit me again. The feelings I had started to build suddenly came crashing down, and then slowly started rising again. Did he see me as just another girl to sleep with? Couldn’t he at least acknowledge the bond we shared, or give me a proper rejection? Something real to help me let go of the hope that he might want me. “What would I do in your room, Alpha?” I asked, this time with false confidence. “How about you find that out later? Just come,” he said, winking at me. --- It didn't take us long to reach his room. He was walking faster than usual, and as soon as the door clicked shut, he waved to the seats at the far end of the room. I was marveled by the beauty of his room, and it felt like a cage. Every hesitant feeling I had earlier vanished, and it felt like I was the one calling him to cuddle me and make me feel like the mate I was, now. "I don't know how much you love to drink this," he said as he poured me a drink while he sat down across from me, "but this is what I usually drink with girls before we have sex." My eyes bulged and I nearly choked on the drink. I made sure the glass stuck to my lips. I didn't want to lower it because I didn't have the right words. "Do you want some more?" He asked and grabbed the glass cup when I dropped it. "It's quite heavy. I'm okay with the first taste," I said as I nearly bit off my tongue. The drink was intoxicating, and I knew it wasn't my first time taking it. It all felt better since he offered it to me. "Are you scared of getting drunk?" He asked and offered me one more glass, his piercing blue eyes staring at my chest. He gulped and chuckled softly as I accepted the drink. "I heard you're becoming the next Alpha of our pack," I said to him. I knew the drink was the one boosting my confidence. "I'm as shocked as you are, Violet," he said and quickly came to sit next to me, showing me a plain sheet. "See what my shit-ass father said to me." I read through it and felt that tingling sensation when his warm hands reached my skin. My eyes rolled in my head and I felt aroused when his palms tickled my breasts from the sides. I lifted my gaze and saw the need in his eyes. He nodded and I quickly pulled off my clothes as I turned to him, biting my lower lip. Before I knew it, he was pinning me to the seats while breathing fast, much faster than earlier. His hands pressed on my breasts as he paused slightly. "I'm usually faster with other girls. Something about you makes me want to go easy on you." He slapped my chin softly as he slowly pushed down my skirt, his eyes grazing all over my body. My eyes were shut as my nipples hardened. Air blew hard on my skin as he shifted down his pants and confessed his words into my ears. "I know you're aware," he said into my ear with that teenage adult voice that sounded smart and clever. "Aware of what?" I moaned as he raised my legs, pushing in slowly and then fast, as a moan escaped from my lips. "I know you're aware this is going to be a fucking long night. Hell, this scent is destroying me," he whispered distinctly as he went low on me, ramming deeper with a work hunger in him. I felt everything in me aligning. He was making me feel like the woman I was. "Look at you, already wet for me. And yet you pretend not to know, right? Violet? Sweet slut," he said the last words with a deeper and suggestive voice as he went deeper while I moaned and danced to his rhythm. Everything changed within me and it felt like a dream. The Playboy was really into me?Ezekiel's POV"What are you waiting for?" I asked the guards who stood behind Kira at the doorstep to her room. They hadn't moved any of her luggage to the new room as commanded. They couldn't find the right words to say, and I knew it must be Kira who had threatened them to stay back and disobey my orders. She sent them off since I was now around."You are violating the contract that my pack signed with you to make me the Luna of the pack. I can't be replaced by anyone else. It's a lifetime contract and you don't get to cheat on me," Kira said as she entered the room again.I followed her in and slammed the door shut. After a little scoff, I turned to her."How many times did I catch you in the act, having sex with different people in the pack?" I asked, pulling a seat for myself as I sat in front of her. She didn't say a word. She knew I was correct in my accusations."You've violated almost all the agreements we signed together, and you're trying to cover up your past mistakes now?
Violet's POVEach time I tried to push the thoughts aside, I failed. It hurt so much to have betrayed Simon and left him behind to cope with the same Sebastian he had been running away from.I was now far from the one who cared so much for me, and instead in the midst of those who didn’t even want me around.I would choose to be given a good room to live in with my daughter and wouldn’t mind working as a nonofficial staff. Competing with those who had been here already seemed like an arduous task.“Why are you so worried about bringing him here?” Ezekiel asked in a low voice. He could read the worry on my face. But truth be told, it wasn’t about Owen, whom he claimed the guards were already bringing along.I didn’t want Owen to be present because I didn’t trust what he would say about me...that was true. But the real worry in my mind wasn’t about him.“I’m not worried about Owen. I’m simply worried about how I’m going to survive in this harsh place I once lived in. Can you even imagin
Ezekiel's POV“Are you refusing to obey my orders?” I had to ask. Kira sat there on the bed, fuming and refusing to do what I commanded her to do.“Gather your belongings. The wolves will soon be here to get you out of this pack. Go and meet your people. I don’t want you anymore,” I said again to her. There was no way Violet would thrive in this pack with Kira on the throne. She was just another slut, caught many times having sex with strange men. I never scolded her once. I just knew a day would come when an end would be put to all of this.“What do you even mean?” Kira got up, her anger flaring while a frown formed on her face.“What does it sound like? I’m banishing you from the pack, because in truth, you’re the one who deserves to be expelled,” I said to her face. We had had sex on different occasions, but I could vividly remember the last time we did.It was many months ago, and with the timeframe in which she got pregnant, it was obvious I wasn’t the one who had fucked her last
Violet's POV"How did you find me?" I stepped back from the doorstep as Owen walked in, a big smirk dancing on his lips."If you’ve been chasing someone for years, trust me when I say it’s very easy to understand their movements," Owen said as he sat on the bed, his eyes roaming all over the room. With a big smile, he turned back to me. "You’re all dressed up. Is it to impress me? Were you looking around the pack for me?""To hell with you, Owen. Did you forget you’re in the Alpha’s room? Do you want to be penalized?" I snapped, anger sharpening my tone, though I knew I couldn’t do much to stop him now.I really should have left the moment Ezekiel did. This would never have happened. How did he even walk past the guards to get here without me suspecting him?"Don’t pretend you don’t know I can’t be penalized. I love you, Violet, and until you realize that, I won’t stop coming after you. You’re my mate, my girl, and only through you will I have a child. I won’t force you in any way, bu
Violet's POV"I came back to this pack the first time for one major reason I haven’t mentioned to you," I said to Ezekiel, now lying on his bed as night had fallen and the curtains were already drawn.Isabel was fast asleep, giving us more room to talk before she woke again."What reason?" Ezekiel asked in a deep, sleepy voice as he rested my head on his chest."A witch made a prophecy that my daughter’s life is in danger. We tried to reason it out and couldn’t find the cause, until the next day when she revealed that my daughter’s name was found on the wolf tree in my former pack," I said, and he let out a soft breath."How does your daughter’s name on the wolf tree endanger her life?""Why would you write my name back there on the tree? I’d been banished, and you endangered my life by writing it back. You could have been banished or killed on the spot, if you were caught," I replied quickly."And that’s the difference. I wasn’t caught. I couldn’t have been caught red-handed. Violet,
Violet's POVWe left the pack as early as 7 a.m. Our luggage was ready, and we moved it to the border as quickly as possible. Ezekiel informed the guards that we were leaving, and even though they believed we would make an official announcement before the host Alpha ended his temporary reign, Ezekiel had to let them know it wasn’t part of his plans.Guilt ripped at my chest for leaving Simon behind without even saying goodbye. If only I had known last night would be the last time I’d see him, I would have stayed with him all through the night. Tears welled in my eyes as we traveled down to Ezekiel’s pack.My heart throbbed and my hands trembled, and even though Ezekiel kept promising me I wouldn’t regret it, the words never sank into my mind.We finally reached his pack and went straight to his main office—once the exact office his father had ruled from when he was still on the throne.Wolves stared at the three of us as we walked in, while the guards carried the luggage.
