In the Dark world

I am running with all my might. But it's not enough. Whoever they are or whatever they are, gaining distance over me.

No matter how fast and for how long I ran, my car seems to be too far from my reach. It feels like the more I ran the more it's moving away from me.

My surroundings are pitch black, not a ray of moonlight from anywhere. I come across a tree whose bark is marked with some different patterns. I think I saw that tree earlier. 

That's when I realize that I am running in circles. Those things are now close enough for me to look at them properly.

I never thought it would be possible for me to be scared more than I already am. But the moment I saw them properly, my stomach rolled and all its contents came out with so much force, that I fell on the forest floor on all fours.
