Chapter 44

I opened my eyes to an empty bed. I looked around the room, the curtains were drawn and the sunlight was streaming through the gaps. The silence in the room was deafening, the only sound was the ticking of the clock on the wall.

I couldn't help but wonder if Clyde had really been there last night or if it was all just a dream. The memories of the night before were hazy and blurred, I couldn't remember much.

As I moved to the other side of the bed, I couldn't help but feel his scent all over the place. It was like he was still there, lying beside me, holding me close. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, savoring the scent of his cologne.

A smile unconsciously formed on my face as I remembered the night before. I opened my eyes and looked around the room, everything was still the same, but everything was different. The colors were brighter, the air was fresher.
