Chapter 3

"Nooo!". I screamed again as I woke up sweating profusely. I just dreamed about how my parents were killed mercilessly by those monsters. I do not think that these nightmares will go away anytime soon but it is good that I'm having these nightmares because they will forever be a reminder of my deadly mission to hurt those that killed my parents in cold blood.

"It is good that you woke up because I was going to wake you up. Here!". Vander said throwing a huge silicon bag in front of me. The bag was filled with clothes, black clothes to be precise and surprisingly I loved them. Seems like black is my favorite color now because I feel like my life is filled with darkness and darkness only. There is no light and there will never be until I punish those monsters for their misdeeds. I will not spare them for what they did to me and my parents. I used to love bright colors like pink, yellow, white... And so on but right now I just hate those colors now.

I'm no longer my daddy's little princess and I'm no longer my mommy's little Amphitrite all because of five men.

"Freshen up and get ready, your training starts in twenty minutes Amphitrite". Vander snapped me out my thoughts and I frowned, "twenty minutes?". I asked and he nodded.

"They will only give you ten minutes to get ready at the assassination school so I'm preparing you for it. You have to get used to it because if you don't then you will suffer alone". He explained and I nodded in understanding.

I slipped out of bed and hurried towards the bathroom and took my bath quickly trying my best to be on time. I may only be ten years old but I know that time is money.

After freshening up I quickly wore my black ripped jeans, black t-shirt and black boots. I tied my long black silky smooth hair into a ponytail. I walked down the corridor to the leaving room, Vander was already munching on his breakfast. He was having some cereals and milk.

"Sit and eat". Vander muttered and I obeyed.

My lips quivered as I remembered how my mom used to prepare salivating breakfast for me, and how she used to pet me. But I cannot cry now, I have to accept the truth that they are gone and never coming back to me. All I have to do now is to make sure that I qualify to attend the assassination school.

"Eat quickly Amphitrite, you will only be given ten minutes to eat so try to be quick and not slow as a snail yea'". He explained and I nodded. After having our breakfast he directed me outside the house to his huge backyard.

"For today I will teach you to throw a punch". He said pointing at a pillow that was tied on a tree and I nodded. He sat on his wooden bench and I started punching the pillow as hard as I can. "Harder Amphitrite!". He yelled and I punched it harder, five punches later I was already tired and breathing heavily.

"Again!". He yelled loudly and I started punching again but stopped. I heard his footsteps behind me and I turned to look at him. "If you keep on throwing a punch like that then I'm sorry, you won't be able to make it in the assassination school". He said and my lips quivered.

"Don't give up, just try a little more harder. Okay let's do this, just imagine that those five men who wronged you are the pillow and you are punching them". He suggested and I nodded.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, the moment I closed my eyes I saw those monsters. 'Come on Amphitrite! Show them who you really are', I said inwardly.

I saw the man with the scar and punched the pillow harder, I kept punching harder and harder until I started screaming raining punches on the pillow over and over again. I remembered how my parents died and how I almost died because of them. I screamed louder punching the pillow.

"That's enough Amphitrite!". Vander yelled but I didn't acknowledge him as I kept punching the pillow. He dragged me away from the pillow and hugged me tightly, that is when I realised that I have been crying. I started sobbing loudly. My fists were hurting, my heart was hurting, everything was hurting.

"You are okay little one. I've got you". Vander said consoling me carrying me inside the house. He placed me on the couch and handed me a glass of water.

I took it with my shaky hands and drank the water. I quickly wiped my tears with the back of my palm. "You did well". He praised and I nodded lightly.

"T-thank you". I stammered lightly and he smiled. "Where is your family?". I asked and he tensed a little before answering me.

"I don't have a family. I'm all alone, I have been alone for as long as I can remember until I found you dangling on the stone unconscious". He said.

"You don't have a wife and children?". I asked and he nodded. "Her name was Siena, she died ten years ago. She was the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on but when she left I never craved for love again". He said in an unfamiliar voice as he cleared his throat loudly.

"How did she die?". I asked curiously and he sighed deeply.

"She was killed by my enemies, she was pregnant with our first baby girl. She was already eight months pregnant when she was shot but the doctors couldn't save them both". He replied firmly and I gasped loudly.

"K-killed?". I asked and he nodded, I placed my little hand on top of his huge one and he feigned a smile. I felt so connected to him in some way.

"Once you are involved in these kind of things you have to make sure that you hide your weakness away from the world because once they get to know your weakness they will use that as a bait to hurt you". He explained.

"Did you avenge their death?". I asked and he nodded, "just like I said little one, revenge doesn't make you feel any better". He said and I shook my head negatively.

"It will bring me peace and satisfaction". I replied and he chuckled. "You won't rest until you take them down will you?". He asked and I nodded.

"She was beautiful wasn't she?". I asked.

"Very beautiful. She had black long hair like yours, beautiful gray eyes and a perfect figure. She never approved my line of work but she tolerated it anyways. I blame myself for their death. If only I stopped when she told me to, they would have been alive and well. My baby girl would have been here with me, she would have been your age". His voice chocked out with emotions.

He disappeared for few minutes and came back few minutes later with a picture of a very beautiful woman. Her beautiful smile outstanded everything. "She is very beautiful and her name suits her". I complimented and he smiled lightly.

"How old was she?". I couldn't help but ask.

"She was twenty when she died". He replied, "how old are you?". I asked curiously.

"I'm thirty four". He replied and I muttered an 'oh'.

I thunder bolted outside and I flinched, he laughed warmly. "An assassin isn't scared of anything Amphitrite, you have to be strong, brave and fierce in order to face your enemies and opponents". He adviced and I swallowed a lump on my throat.

"O-okay Vander". I said lowly.

It started pouring heavily outside and I started to remember how my parents used to tell me stories when it rains. Whenever it rains mom used to sleep with me so that I can feel safe and protected. Who will protect me now?, no one will.

I have to face this alone and I have to overcome my fears in order to win against my enemies. "I will go and make us some food". Vander announced leaving me alone.

The thunder bolted again and I screamed clutching on my legs tightly.

**An assassin isn't scared of anything Amphitrite, you have to be strong, brave and fierce in order to face your enemies and opponents**. Vander's words resounded in my head over and over again. I stood up and took slow steady steps towards the door and opened it widely.

I stood on the shed so that I cannot get drenched and watched as it rained heavily. The thunder bolted again and I flinched but I didn't run away instead I stepped into the rain and found my way towards the tree I was being trained from and started punching it again, this time I didn't just punch, I kicked it as well.

I don't care if I get drenched, I don't care if I catch a cold. All I know is that I'm going to get admitted into that assassination school no matter what! I'm going to be the ultimate assassin and make Vander proud. I won't disappoint him and I won't disappoint myself either.

I'm going to have my revenge.

********

Vander stepped out of the kitchen into the the living room but couldn't find little Amphitrite anywhere. "Where is she?". He asked no one in particular. "Amphitrite!". He called but got no response. His heart started pounding faster as he looked for her everywhere.

Even if she is just a stranger, he has grown fond of her in these two days he has known her. There is something special about her that he too doesn't understand.

She has that fire in her that reminds him of his childhood. Little Amphitrite also reminds him of his lovely Siena. Black long shiny hair and gray eyes. He couldn't imagine losing her.

"Amphitrite!". He called again but got no response. He noticed that the door was slightly opened. 'Could she be outside?'. He asked himself. He immediately grabbed an umbrella and hurried outside, he heard noises in the backyard.

"I'M AMPHITRITE! QUEEN OF THE SEA AND I'M NOT SCARED OF ANYTHING!". She yelled punching the pillow harder and he smiled.

'How can a little girl be so determined?'. He asked himself.

"Let's get inside Amphitrite, you are going to catch a cold". Vander yelled loudly moving towards her, shielding her from the rain. "It's enough for one day". He said and she nodded.

There's something surely special about this girl.

And he wants to find out what it is.
