Chapter 22

"Ms. Everlee," Delilah called knocking on the door.

"Please give me a sec," answered Everlee as she quickly dried herself and put on her nightwear jumping into her bed.

"You may come in now," Everlee told the maid as she covered herself from her neck to her toe pretending as if her stomach still hurt.

"Here is your chicken soup miss," Delilah placed the soup on the bedside table and began to return downstairs.

"Delilah," Everlee called.

Delilah stopped turning her attention to Everlee.

"After I've consumed my chicken soup, I'll be going to bed, so please don't try to wake me nor check on me," Everlee informed her.

"Yes miss," answered Delilah and left the room immediately.

Everlee didn't like what she had said to the maid. It made her feel awful and quite rude, but she had to do it knowing her mom. Mrs. Poppy will instruct her to keep an eye on her and she didn't want her parents to know that she will be sneaking out of the house tonight.
