Rose left the hospital in despair. The streets were empty and scary but she continued on her way. She badly needed to keep walking... She couldn't wait to get home and get back to her bed... She was tired from her hard day and exhausted from her little sister's heavy load. His face was scarred from the bad days and his hair stuck to his skin.

She was terribly hungry...

She hadn't eaten for almost 12 hours, she had only had a meager sandwich in the morning and expired milk. Even though his stomach was growling and screaming, there were more important things than that. She was alone, penniless, with chemotherapy that cost her the skin of the buttocks...

She stopped in front of a statue and smiled, nostalgic...

She remembers the good old days when she went from store to store, buying what she wanted without worrying about the price. Ahhh! What a beautiful life she had. And yet that life was taken from him and he was given this one in which his belly was a secondary need...

It all started 6 months ago, she lived with her parents and her little sister in a villa, happy and fulfilled. She had a comfortable life because her parents were rich and she could afford anything. However, his life changed overnight.

The night his parents died in a tragic car accident.

She was left alone with her little sister. Fortunately, she could count on the enormous fortune of her parents to support her. Let's say... that's what she thought... The day before the funeral, she learned that her father was drowning in debt and that the bank was going to seize everything if she didn't pay the heavy sum. And to top it off, his sister had a stroke that revealed critical leukemia. And if that wasn't enough, she learned that her father had sold all of his shares in the family business so she couldn't count on the business to pay off her debts. In a word, she was in trouble... She was in big trouble.

In less than a month, she had lost everything, even her jewelry and her designer clothes...Let's not even talk about the cars and the money...She had nothing left.

She ended up on the street with the rest of her belongings in one hand and in the other was her sister's hand and two $100 bills her father's lawyer had given them...

- Find yourself an inn where you can sleep and eat. Try not to catch a cold. He had told them with a disinterested air.

It was ironic.

The young woman would have liked to spit her anger in his face but it would be useless... She took their meager belongings and went to a church to spend the night because she preferred to save the $200 for the next day... That morning she prayed for help from the Almighty. Before, she rarely prayed, but now, with her bad situation, she needed to believe in a miracle... Then, she went to the miserable neighborhood where their late grandmother lived to stay with her sister... She was yet so sad but she had to console herself for her sister who had no one else in the world but her...

She had knocked on all the doors: those of her friends, her parents, but nothing. Now she realized how much her family was surrounded by pretense. The kind of friends who only support you when things are going well. She learned from her father's secretary that he had not pledged their vacation home on the lake. Because her sister's treatment was an emergency, she was forced to sell it and was able to pay for the treatment for a year...

She managed to find a small job in a factory. Her salary was miserably low, but she was lucky enough to be able to manipulate the numbers to earn a meager few dollars a day. She stopped her thoughts to empty her pockets and the faint clink of coins told her she had enough money to take the bus.

The smell of tacos and pizza made her want to eat, so she decided to walk home so she could afford something to eat tonight. Her house was only an hour away and she was used to it because she rarely took the bus.

This afternoon, the doctor had given him some bad news. Her little sister's treatment was developed and the new treatment, deemed more effective, cost twice as much. The money she had given was running out quickly... And she had to give it back to the hospital.

She thought she had a whole year to save, but she only has two weeks left to make the deposit. Two weeks... It was an amount of money that she would never have in such a short time. And she didn't know where to turn to ask for it… She couldn't even take out a loan. She has nothing the bank could seize if she couldn't repay... After what happened with her parents. She was afraid that they would agree to lend her money...

That's why she was devastated and discouraged. His feet hurt badly and the road seemed even longer than usual. She still had no solution in mind and no one to turn to. In a moment of desperation, Elle curses her parents for inflicting such a life on her.

When she saw the dark driveway of her house, she wiped her eyes realizing that her tears had flowed down and cleared her throat. She smiled when she saw one of her neighbors.

- Good evening, Mrs. Martha. Good day?

- Rather tiring, thanks for asking.

She didn't want to let them see her cry so she wouldn't have to tell them about her problems since they couldn't do anything for her anyway… She looked at the graffiti on the walls in her neighborhood. Those walls that once scared him were now his refuge.

She bought some food and then she went home. She climbed the stairs, praying to all the gods that her old staircase wouldn't give way under her weight... Ten minutes later, after eating greedily, she washed herself for fear of running out of water the next day, then went straight to bed. Even if she didn't have the heart to sleep, she wanted to sleep to forget this hard day. She wanted to be at peace while she slept. Be that as it may, don't they say that the night brings advice. And advice, she needed it..
