I want to be mad at Rocky for following us, even though it is unreasonable to be angry at him for it. But it’s easier to find anger since I’m already annoyed about making zero headway for the past two days.

I sit on the ground recalling his smug expression as he called us out for walking in circles. As it turns out, Alder is worse at navigation than I am, which isn’t saying much since I’m terrible.

Alder’s problem is he hasn’t quite come to terms yet with his lack of skill. Instead, he blames the scenery, claiming the beautiful meadow distracts him or that it all looks the same, so we are making headway and I just need to put my trust in him. Easy for him to say when he seems to trust so easily, too easily, if I’m being honest.
