Chapter 25

*Rocky*

In and out. That’s all I can manage right now as I lay on my back. I don’t dare open my eyes for fear of the splitting headache. I can feel growing running rampant like a fire given oxygen. My chest aches as my lungs cry for oxygen, my arms too heavy to lift and my legs unwilling to listen to my commands.

So I focus on my breathing. In through my nose, out through my mouth and repeat. My lycan is nowhere to be found, hiding away as he rests from probably saving me. How I can’t remember, all I know is one minute I was fighting for my damn life in the water and the next I am where the air is damp and musty but it’s oxygen so I don’t really give a shit how it smells. It feels like heaven in my lungs.

My fingers twitch as something tickles them, my skin cooled, and a shiver runs up my spine. I think I am cold, or something is touching me, but my brain is too slow to register that we are in danger. Against my body’s will, I force my eyes open, looking into the darkness down my body
